Okay, but Birds of Prey is a movie about four women traumatized by men teaming up to protect a young girl from abusive men, so she doesn’t have to endure the trauma that they went through. 

The climax of the story is literally the four women teaming up to fight off an army of aggressive, violent men (who should be prison but aren’t thanks to the protection of a powerful and wealthy man) who want to harm Cass. There’s literally an extended sequence of the women fighting off the men while passing Cass around to one another (”Who’s got the kid?”), several times ripping her out of the clutches whichever guy has grabbed her.

With that final fight, Cathy Yan and Christina Hodson said “FUCK subtlety”, and I think that’s awesome of them.
