It’s a pretty close correlation. I’m glad you have your opinion, but I also have mine. I think the memes are disgusting and you obviously don’t, that’s fine. I respect your opinion, but you should also respect mine. I’m not someone to take stuff to seriously (because we all know people get offended over everything), but I don’t take lightly to anything that involves bullying, suicide, sexual assault, etc. That’s just how I feel about it.

You basically imply that no one is allowed to find those kind of jokes funny. 

I appreciate you clarifying, but don’t be surprised to have responses like mine when you word things the way you did in your original post. 

There’s also a large difference between jokes about something and treating things as jokes. Making jokes about something, aside from being one of the main coping mechanisms human use, doesn’t mean that person doesn’t take those issues seriously when they are actually present. It’s the difference between the person who makes a joke about a show containing suicide and the person who makes a joke demeaning and disregarding a real person’s issues.

I don’t care if Hillary Clinton is corrupt. I don’t care if she lies, if she cheats, if she eats bowls of newborn chipmunks for breakfast.

She is literally the only thing standing in the way of a fascist dictator becoming President of the United States with a Republican majority congress that guarantees he can do anything he wants and nothing will be able to stop him.

I was and still am a Bernie supporter, and I hate a lot of things about Clinton, but none of that matters anymore. If Trump is elected, people are going to die. Women are going to die when Roe v Wade is overturned and Planned Parenthood is defunded. LGBTQ people are going to die when conversion therapy is further legalized and more bathroom bills are passed. POC are going to die as Trump rounds up Mexican immigrants, gives more power to the police, and fuels the fires of Islamaphobia. Poor people are going to die as Obamacare gets overturned and further cuts are made to welfare programs. And that’s just in this country. That’s not even taking account the all-too-likely outcomes of Trump starting new wars in the Middle East and having control of nuclear bombs that he’s said he ‘would not rule out’ using.

This is no longer even about ‘the lesser of two evils’. This is not ‘scare tactics’. This is literally life and death. Don’t fuck around and tell me you’re voting third-party or not voting at all, because you don’t have that luxury.

Firstly, Huffington post and you are misapplying a stipulative definition of racism which was developed in the 1970s as a way of discussing institutional racism in America. 

Secondly, even under that definition it is still possible for there to be racism against white people. You are aware that there are countries in which white people aren’t a minority and face discimination, yes?

Thirdly, ‘white people have never been enslaved or colonised’ is so astoundingly ignorant that you would have to have the historical knowledge of about a ten year old in order to believe it. 

Words have different definitions and there is a universally accepted definition of racism by which it is possible to be racist to white people. You can ignore reality if you want but you can’t escape the consequences of ignoring reality and in this case the consequence is that you look a bit silly on the internet.
