Honestly, if I have to do all the work to like or relate to a character, I probably won’t. And guess what: I don’t have to. I can hate any character I want. They’re not real people. If the narrative doesn’t do anything to make me like them, why would I like them? It’s fine if you do, but don’t act like I’m a bad person just because I don’t care about some fictional character you think is great.

I can’t pin it down to what actually started it, but I’m pretty sure it’s just a way for Nicky (or anyone) to mess with Kevin and Neil, who really really care about exy. It’s sort of like telling a dedicated football fan like “oh yeah, that’s the one with the ball and the grass right?” One time in high school we were playing soccer/football and I told this girl that I was going to kick a grand slam (baseball term) and her eye twitched like she wanted to squeeze me to death for daring to say that :P
