RIP Ian Curtis (15 July 1956 – 18 May 1980).

The memorial stone of the legendary frontman of Joy Division, at Macclesfield Cemetery, Cheshire, in a Kevin Cummins shot circa 1985.

After this original stone was stolen in 2008, it was replaced with a new grave marker with the same insciption in a different typeface.

This is my arm.  First of all, let me just say that THIS IS NOT BEAUTIFUL.  We need to stop this trend that self harm has become. Things like “it’s tragically beautiful”. No, it’s not. This came from pure self hate. This came from a mind, and a place so FUCKED UP I couldn’t bare it.  It’s not beautiful. It’s the worst I’ve ever been.
