Titan: The Moon of Saturn
On this day in 1655 was discovered moon Titan of Saturn.
Titan, Saturn’s largest moon, is the second largest moon in the Solar System. The diameter of Titan is 5150 km, in comparison, the Earth is 12 756.28 km. In its thick atmosphere, Cassini’s infrared spectrometer has observed a huge cloud system covering the north pole of Titan. Titan is the only moon in the Solar System to possess a thick atmosphere of nitrogen (dinitrogen) and methane clouds, in which one can observe a very active weather (evaporation, cloud formation, precipitation of methane).
Saturn’s moon Titan is home to seas and lakes filled with liquid hydrocarbons. One of its liquid surfaces extends over 100 000 square kilometers, the Lake Superior one of the biggest on Earth is 82 000 square kilometers. The biggest liquid seas are situated in Titan’s highest latitudes, most being situated in the North of the 70th parallel of this cold and distant world.
The Huygens probe successfully landed on Saturn’s largest moon Titan at about 11:30 UTC on January 14, 2005. The descent lasted two hours and 27 minutes. The probe survived another 72 minutes on the surface of Titan. This was the first - and, so far, the only - landing in the outer solar system. Huygens holds the record as the most distant landing from Earth.

getting ready is physically a 15min task but emotionally, anywhere between 30min to 5 hours
a few days ago i was walkin past a basketball court and a ball Flew at me and i
1) didn’t flinch
2) caught the ball
3) threw it back at the guy
4) responded to his “thanks bro” with a nod
it was like the ghost of some guy named chad took over me so i didn’t like embarrass myself
a bro talked to me today and it caught me v off guard but instead of my voice rising an octave it dropped an octave and i suddenly was effortlessly speaking Bro™ back to him. this resulted in a very positive interaction
thanks, chad
