Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 8 oz cream cheese, softened. 4 cups powdered sugar. 1 tsp vanilla extract. 2 tsp ground ginger. 1 tsp ground cinnamon. 1/2 tsp ground cloves. 1/4 tsp nutmeg. 1/4 cup molasses.
Instructions: To make it smooth and creamy, beat the softened butter and cream cheese together in a bowl. One cup at a time, add the powdered sugar and keep mixing until everything is well mixed. Add the ground cloves, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg, and mix them in well. When you add the molasses, mix the frosting until it is smooth and all the ingredients are mixed in. That being said, you can add a tablespoon of milk to the frosting if it's too thick. Spread a lot of the gingerbread cream cheese frosting on the cupcakes after they have cooled down.
