I love Peter Quill's EMPATHY.

The second thing we learn about him (besides his love of music) is that he gets into fights with other boys because they "killed a little frog that didn't do nothing."

The filmmakers specifically give us a close up of HIS face when he notices that Rocket has scars on his back.

He goes to check on Gamora when the prisoners are trying to execute her, even though she tried to steal his orb and kill him and got him captured by Nova Corps.

He tries to keep Rocket and Groot and Drax from killing each other even though he has nothing to gain from keeping the peace, and he tries to comfort Rocket and looks distressed when Rocket says "I didn't ask to be taken apart and put back together over and over and turned into some little monster."

He has the most scenes of being willing to listen to insensitive Drax when Drax is trying to give advice.

Obviously he saves Gamora at the cost of his own well-being when she's stranded in space

He thanks Drax when Drax awkwardly proclaims them as friends, meanwhile Gamora snaps at him.

He rallies everybody into saving innocents and becoming heroes.

He notices Rocket, who has been nothing but a jerk to him, vaguely comparing himself to Yondu as a mean guy who miraculously didn't push his friends away. And then he makes this face,

Which is by far my favorite "Kind Starlord" moment, and says, "well of course not." Purely to comfort Rocket and reassure him that they're family, without actually SAYING all that mushy stuff, so Rocket keeps his pride without having to apologize.

And, you know, all of GOTG Vol. 3.

Hello i feel like it's been forever since I've had a decently long winded Star Trek post! But don't worry. I am here today bearing gifts!

I've rewatching the AOS films and I am just absolutely blown away by Chris Pine's performance at Kirk. Don't get me wrong, everyone in the film does an exceptional job, as always. But there are a few moments where Kirk conveys such reactions and emotions?? I just love it.

The first is after he's been demoted and Pike meets him at the bar to tell him he's made Kirk his first officer (clip can be found here). These are just a few photos of him in this scene that are my personal favorites.

His ability to show how much Kirk cares for and admires Admiral Pike is sooo so good

And of course, on the other side of the emotional spectrum we have the moment that Pike dies (clip can be found here) this one was way hard to pick the key moments for me but I tried my best.

I JUST THINK CHRIS PINE DID A REALLY GOOD JOB IN THAT SCENE!!!!! LOOK AT HIM GOOOOOO!

He did just such a good job with this role.

Can we talk about the difference in how Peter's alcoholism and depression was handled in vol 3 in contrast to Thor's in endgame??? Like hello?!?!? For a millisecond I was worried they were gonna treat Peter like a joke but immediately they showed us the worry in all the guardians for his state, Nebula carried him and put him in bed and they all make sure he was ok, and even later they were talking about how worried they are and how they can help him, no jokes about his physical condition or anything like that and him being passed out drunk wasn't framed as funny but as heartbreaking and also they showed us Nebula being rightfully mad at Peter's actions and him taking responsibility on it and started trying to heal and becoming better, they all love him so much I just can't
