You’re not a real bard until you make your DM cry because you seduced the Big Bad that they’ve built up to for 10 sessions

Once a bard friend rolled a 1 for a seduction and ended up killing a girl and tried to hide the body. He was caught, rolled low on deception and they all thought he was fucking her corpse. He then tried seducing the guards and rolled low again so all the guards had boners while arresting him and the DM had to sideline the entire game and make up a dungeon for the rest of us to get our stupid bard out of. But we didn’t. So for like 3 nights the DM essentially ran 2 different games, one of us questing without ol’ corpsefucker and then the adventures of corpsefucker: escape from boner castle.

He seduced his way out, naturally.

i s2g griffin introduced Lup as a way of calling his brother out, because Justin absolutely has that sense of callous disconnectedness sometimes, like, he has that edge of arrogance and condescension and sarcasm and this slightly disaffected air, but at the same time, he gets weepy at the end of the Seeso show because he doesn’t feel as though he’s really cherished the time he’s spent with his siblings. I swear, Lup was Griffin’s way of saying “I see you, brother, and I’m calling you out, because there’s no one in the world you love more than your family. Disaffect your way through THAT.”

i think the finale arc of the adventure zone is literally the most fucking powerful piece of media ever created and here’s why

you know that opening narration in Watchmen where rorshach is all “they’ll look up and scream save us, and i’ll look down and whisper no” and it’s all very gritty and dramatic and uhuhu sheeple

it’s literally the total fucking opposite of that

the apocalypse is bearing down, a hundred billion voices screaming in cacophonous and deafening unison GIVE UP AND DIE, and the entire world shares a glance, and takes a breath, and looks up and says:

No.

And I don’t believe I have ever seen something with such a powerful faith in humanity. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something that describes such an unshakeable connectedness, such an unbreakable will to exist. The apocalypse is happening and people are still fighting.

And I think that especially now, especially in times of such upheaval and uncertainty, and now with the threat of nuclear war looming from the darker corners of our political houses, we need more than ever stories that say what this one does–and I have never seen it more clearly and more beautifully communicated.

It’s not over until you stop fighting.
