i used to be 'grape-soda-and-impish-behaviour' because i was drinking grape soda a lot and one of my main ocs at the time was called imp then i deactivated and came back as 'soda-imp' cause it was shorter yet still matched my purple theme and mood ^^

and then i changed it to 'soda-sprite' because my theme was sort of greenish with a fairycore vibe to it and my mood was more 'spritely' but i still liked soda and also still wanted to be recognisable to my moots so i kept the soda bit and i haven't changed it since!! :D

Okay, so my real username wasn't actually supposed to be potatoanarchist, I made that up on a whim and I have a mind to change it. It was supposed to be Xaosix, and for a very personal reason.

To keep it as simple as possible for you, someone I knew died a while back. I had known them for my entire life--seriously, they were around since I was a baby. We had a nickname for them and that's why the six that's apart of my username. I'm not specifying what the nickname was.

The other part of my username is a reference to my mom's name. No, her name doesn't start with X. It starts with J, but I've decided to keep it as X to make a little XO sort of w/ the Xaosix. In case you can't see it

The XO is for both her and the person.

If I end up changing my user or online name twenty times and twenty times again, this is something that will always remain the same. It just...hits a bit different when people call me that instead of potato.

As for potatoanarchist...yeah, the reason is a tad sad, too. I've had this...mentality for the past few years that has proven to be incredibly detrimental. And I've always tried to get rid of it, like an anarchist would their government, but it's always felt too small. Like a potato. But then I smiled and got the idea that maybe I could make somebody smile with that username, a small thing ( a potato ) lightening their mood ( anarchist ). So I kept it.

You'll soon notice a lot of the decisions I make are born from personal experiences/ideas.

So using all might of a third grader i had.. i picked up on of those those chairs ( there was no desk on them) and SMACKED my third grade teacher with it. Oh dear, my username has a lot of lore behind it as I’ve based it off of my OC who’s book I’ve been planning and writing for about 3 years.

It actually goes ALLLL the way back to my Amino days, and for those of you who don't know, every Community you join on Amino allows you to make a different username for it, so initially I just ended up picking my favorite characters from each fandom and making my account that, BUT THEN- It was (funnily enough) when I joined the Markiplier Community that I decided to change that! Think it was cause there was already so many other accounts who did the same thing and it'd be confusing- So! It took me a while of workshopping other names and revisiting even old ones I used to go by, BUT THEN, I had a revelation-

Y'see, no matter the fandom I was in, my base account had this GIF as a pfp because I just thought it looked cool and spooky:

And when I saw that, I decided to try and do some word play with it, and after some "research" (aka Google), I found the term "Eyesore", so decided to give it a shot. And since then...it's stuck with me for over 6 years now XD

But for good reason! That name gave me a good feeling of having a theme with my account, felt like a distinct name (makes sense tho it literally does mean ugly lmao), and even helped me settle on a persona after many iterations!! Thus the eyeball head dude seen in my pfp and doodles, which his design is based off of that GIF! And ey, in all honesty, couldn't be happier with the one I picked!!

I only end up adding "boi" at the end of it cause just "eyesore" is usually already taken, so it's a good addition cause ha ha 2016 terminology, and ey least it does roll off the tongue fine enough X'D

So when I was but a young chronically online lass while YouTube was still like shiny I chose ✨️Dark Rose✨️. Because any time I made a self insert character or oc they'd be named Rose since yknow. I was a child and not super original. And I wanted something edgy to reflect the dark soul I had at the age of 11 💀. (I also think it might've had something to do with darkiplier but I'm not 100% on that)

But obviously migrating to other sites that name would be taken. It was like around 2018 when I started using Darky Parky because it was close and sounded really cute and silly. But that iteration of that name was taken on Tumblr so I went by darkie-parkie for a long time but now that I'm an adult I didn't feel comfy people using the first part of my url as a nickname 😬😬. When I was in high school I had this old acoustic guitar I got in middle school that I absolutely loved and I used it like every day. I would decorate my guitar with little drawings and stickers symbols (despite how bad of an artist I was back then) and until it was almost covered and my high school was holding a talent show so I signed up and performed a song on my guitar and when I was done with my performance, a guy who was performing with his band after me said I had a “strange-ass guitar” but I loved my guitar so I just ended up using it as my name on all my platforms cause everything else about guitars were taken. R.I.P. that guitar, it ended up getting mold and I had to throw it away ❤️

...INTRODUCING MARA

-Sooo I kinda wanted to draw my captaineer's kid from tomodachi life, but like also kinda wanted to make her part of Engie and James's actual lore in my stuff for them because sooo uh yeah my silly idea for it

-so she was from a different universe that James and Engie stumbled into before they had resolved the warp core paradox. They both found her in when she was really young (plus she wasn't born but genetically created with science and engineering in the universe she's from originally but her universe's Engie and James 'disappeared'. So when canon/main timeline James and Engie find her, they take her in and raise her as their own

-As she grew up, she took after Engie and learned a lot of what she knows about engineering and technology from him, but also learning mathematics and different sciences from James (and even some criminal law from James's old days of being a DA)

-She quickly becomes known around the invincible 2 as the ship's prodigy and when gets to her late teens she focuses her studies on engineering and robotics, working to try to make robotic prosthetics and gear to better help injured colonists as they eventually go to explore the new planet they want to call home

-Also both James and Engie gave her their half of the heart they wear (since James has his pendant from Engie still and eventually gets a sun pin from Engie too and Engie has the star pin from James and by then James also gave Engie a bracelet and ect. Both of them have gave each other a lot of mementos over the years) and she made the halves into a necklace so she always has her dads with her

-She also calls James just dad or father in a playful stern tone, and she called Engie dadiplier or Pa, when she's older she starts calling them more by their names out of respect for working with them

-unsure if this is gonna be in their actual lore that I'm writing (like my fanfic I'm working on) or a fun au like the corruption and fade out aus I have. Anyhow I hope you guys like her and if you wanna know more I don't mind yappin because you know me... I love my captaineer

mechanical prosthetics are very common in sci-fi settings, but they usually fall into the magical fix-it trope, more of a cool design feature than an actual disability aid, needed for an actual disability.

so, while I felt the hand was important to Cas' character - the loss of it as a physical representation of his 'failure' and the loss of their brother, and the prosthetic that they almost always hide under his gloves as a representation of both the way Mark fills that hole in their life and the perfect image that Cas feels like he has to project - I didn't want to perpetuate that trope, so this is just a few notes on the ways Cassius' disability actually, y'know, disables him.

-she basically never makes things with her hands after the wormhole incident - previously, some engineering could be done one-handed, or with her prosthetic as a brace, but post-wormhole, her left hand suffers severe nerve damage and tremors, so he's forced to give up the practical side of engineering almost altogether.

-He tends not to hold breakable things in his right hand - it's harder to control the pressure he uses, and they might snap or shatter, so for example he doesn't write much anymore because of the fragile pens and pencils, using screens instead.

-Since it's connected to their muscles and nerves, the point where skin and prosthetic meet is constantly irritated and gets infected easily, and they get muscle pains down the whole arm very often.

-Heavy objects tend to slip through her fingers, as well as precision tools like screwdrivers and wrenches, so she has to adapt to using them with her left hand, and after the wormhole, stops using them altogether.

Cassius' prosthetic doesn't act flawlessly like another hand. It's incredibly advanced technology, past what we have today, but it's still just a prosthetic, and he's still disabled. It's not perfect. It itches and it hurts and they can't take it off because it's wired into them. It's clumsy and awkward, there's no tactile feedback, but when there's a glove on top, they look "normal", and that's what's most important, even though it shouldn't be. This still isn't a realistic depiction of how real people with prosthetics or limb differences live in the present day, and I won't pretend it is, but I wanted to at least try to move away from the magic robot limb trope at least a little.

first thing in my new sketchbook: some ideas for Lucille's ISWM designs :D (this is specifically for part one)

i wanted to doodle more, but i really liked the very first design i drew LOL, so i tried to come up with a colour palette :D (i might draw more outfits though because it was VERY fun, but i kinda wanna rewatch canon first, maybe i can incorporate some more details)

can't really decide... i like both a lot i'm thinking the white is maybe too sterile/basic for a captain? white isn't really Lucilles colour anyway, but it shows the "innocence" well because iswm part one Lucille is very clueless... its uniform and simple, a blank slate even (no memories)

but i think it might be more fun to draw a design that plays with colours more.... the dark red also fits her well...hmmm maybe i just switch them around in different scenes :P coming out of a wormhole and tadaa!! colour change (idkkkk)

(or i just give them entirely new outfits here and there, i like designing them after all. haven't even thought about a noir design yet for example aaahhhh)
