Ajay Loner, a young and ambitious detective, would spend hours in his or someone else's backyard, counting grains of sand.
He was invited by Mortimer Goth from Plesantview, one of the richest men in Sim City, to investigate his wife's disappearance.
"People say the last time my mother was seen was in Strangetown! Dina, I know your family is from there, right?" said Cassandra, the Goth'd elder daughter.
"What? That’s impossible! My sister and I were born in Barnacle Bay!"
There was a hint of confusion in Dina’s voice, so Ajay took note of it and decided to proceed with the other witness, Don Lothario.
"Well, Bella is a fantastic woman! Unfortunately, she married an old man for his money, but who am I to judge, right? I wish I could be with someone like her."
Ajay took some time to investigate Don’s house, as the roof was supposedly the last place someone had seen Bella. Don claimed he didn’t remember that night, which seemed odd. However, nothing suspicious was found in his house.
"How do you think I could have made her disappear? I’m not a magician! I’m a victim too—everyone thinks I did something to her!"
"Please, calm down. It’s up to me to decide who’s who."
He decided to go to Strangetown to spend a few days there, as he didn’t gather enough information from Pleasantview, and to see if there was anything interesting for his practice. The first (and only) person he met that day was Ms. Smith, a charming woman who came to greet the new neighbor.
"Nice to meet you, darling! It’s so lovely that we’re neighbors now because ever since we moved, no one has lived nearby."
She invited him to visit their house, and Ajay accepted the invitation.
"By the way, my husband cooks the best hotdogs in all of Sim City! I’m sure you won’t regret it."
"Here you are, darling! It’s so lovely that you decided to visit us! Let me introduce you to my daughters-in-law, Lola and Chloe!"
The women Jenny introduced as her relatives didn’t seem quite "human." Ajay had never seen anyone like them before. They had green skin and large black eyes—like... aliens? It couldn't be true!
The rest of the family had similar features. Maybe they had some recessive genes? Who knows. Ajay tried hard not to look confused, but he probably didn’t succeed. The situation reminded him of his adolescence when he was fascinated by paranormal things—like... aliens? Not again, please! There had to be a normal explanation for all this.
His thoughts were interrupted by one of the sisters:
"Nice to meet you, and welcome to Strangetown!"
Thank you all who liked and reposted the previous part, I'm glad someone appreciates my work! I would like to mention @katatty and @andrevasims to thank them for the fantastic makeovers they did so I could use them in my game.
