this is my percy jackson fan blog ( yayy ), where i can interact with the fandom more & hopefully even contribute. i will also occasionally reblog things that related to general greco-roman mythos and writings. this is my first time making a blog for one specific fandom, and also my first time making an introduction post. which is honestly crazy considering how long i've been on tumblr. anyways, on to the get-to-know-me + blog info!!

my favorite pj characters are: percy, annabeth, hazel, nico, silena, apollo, hermes, & charles

i am only a fan of percabeth when it aligns with my headcanons that ignore all the annoying mischaracterizations from later canon ( post pjo ). i think their relationship is so sweet, platonically especially- and the potential for them to be so cute and devastingly devoted to each other as romantic partners is RIGHT THERE rick, rick you're killing me... .. .

blegghhh tried drawing pjo characters from memory!! trying to capture how i imagined them when i first read the books in 6th grade ;)

been loosely sketching them over the course of a few days so the style shifts are VERY OBVIOUS LOLL

FINISHED!!! all characters from the pjo - first series. hope i made them recognizable despite the fact that they are based off of how i imagined them in the 6th grade.

- honestly couldn't decide on thalia's hair so i mashed together different ideas. so her hair is dyed 2 different shades of electric blue. she also has piercings, and she'd totally have eyeshadow and her huntresses diadem/circlet.

- redraw annabeth because that first version was scaring me...

- always imagined grover with goat ears. percy had a similar moment to tysons' eye, where it took him a while to see through the mist and notice them. not his fault he was more focused on the goat legs.

- silena's earrings are pearls! I've always imagined her as east asian or wasian, though i'm pretty sure I didn't capture that all here lmao.

- lukes dirty blonde hair... idk if i captured that. in my head it looks more brunette pre-kronos takeover. maybe after kronos takes over his body, his hair lightens over time?

The difference between how Percy describes Beckendorf and Silena in “Stolen Chariot” is lowkey frying me a bit.

Like, with Beckendorf he doesn’t even attempt to give him a general description where he recounts his hair or eye color or something like that, but he immediately dives into rather intimate details, like how muscular he is, how tall he is, what his usual expression is like and what exactly his hands look like:

Beckendorf was head counselor for Hephaestus. He was this huge dude with a permanent scowl, muscles like a pro ballplayer, and hands calloused from working in the forges. He’d just turned eighteen and was on his way to NYU in the fall. Since he was older, I usually listened to him about stuff… (The Demigod Files: The Bronze Dragon)

And with Silena, who is often framed as the prettiest girl at camp, he’s just like, “she has black hair and brown eyes, and most guys find her attractive, I guess:/” which is like one of the most basic descriptions for a beautiful girl imaginable:

Then Silena Beauregard, the head counselor for Aphrodite passed by. Beckendorf had had a not-so-secret crush on her for three years. She had long black hair and big brown eyes, and when she walked, the guys tended to watch. She said,” Good luck, Charlie,” (Nobody ever calls Beckendorf by his first name.) I also like how he says “the guys”, which creates a bit of narrative distance and can potentially be interpreted as if he excludes himself from that.
