âI wish him well as he rots in Hell, and you can tell him I said so.â   -- A Kieren Avery and Lily Evans KILLY Moodboard
@averykieren
averykierenâ:
Severus needed ingredients. He hadnât said as much, but they had been talking yesterday, about some alterations they wanted to try, and he had taken it upon himself to go procure such things. As he was exiting the storage closet the door barged open and he stepped back slightly, watching as Lily Evans literally crashed into the room. He watched her quietly, sneering as she scrambled for her possessions. Pathetic. Â
âIt was rather hard to miss,â He said, adjusting his bag on his shoulder a little, âGoing to take a bit more than that for me to die happy but thank you for the concern,â Kieren wouldnât die happy until Lily died painfully, but he chose to keep his mouth shut for the moment, âWhat concern is it of yours?âÂ
Just make it soon, she couldnât help thinking. Her world would have been a lot better without people like Kieren in it. Actually, specifically, it would have been leagues better without him. Itâd been bad enough that she couldnât escape him when she and Severus were still friends, she would never have imagined sheâd be stuck with him more frequently afterwards. âI need the room, thatâs what concern it is of mine, and if youâve been in here tinkering with things, Iâm not sure I can trust anything.â She huffed again, shifting her things in her arms, but unwilling to set them down lest they spill right back off of a table. âWhat were you doing? Switching ingredients? Gluing seats? Jinxing cauldrons? Stealing supplies? Carving up desks? I know you were doing something Avery. You may as well just tell me what it was. Iâd rather not wait until Iâm mid-brew with an exploded potion in my face to figure out what you were up to. Not that youâd care about that, of course, only a decent human would.â
meadowes-dorcas·:
Dorcas had turned in early for the night, lately she hadnât been getting enough sleep with classes getting tougher and Quidditch ramping up. She knew that if she kept spreading herself so thin it wasnât going to end well. Then sometime late in the night, she heard Mary calling to her and the other girls.  âMary? Are you alright?â She sat up in bed rubbing her eyes. âMarlene, Lily, câmon get up.â
@marlene-mckn·
sleep seemed to be something marlene avoided, what with her excessive coffee drinking and late night escapades. but when her head inevitably hit the pillow (or the closest chair), you could guarantee that she would be dead to the world unless sufficiently roused. maryâs attempt to pull her from the realm of slumber fell short, but somehow the call of her name from dorcas reached through. with a loud, audible groan, marlene peeled her eyes open, shoving hair out of her face. âeh?â the sound emerged from her mouth, a possible question? âmâry wha-?â it would be a little while before she was fully awake.
@strawberryfieldsforevans· (do i tag the next person? is this how this works??)
Now, when Lily mumbled out a garbled, if aggressive, âNoooooâ, she didnât actually say anything - rolling over as she grumbled and burying her face under the pillow. She hadnât been asleep long, but the resistance was so automatic, she was unwilling to come back to the land of the living. She could hear the girls moving, and it irritated her - this was a time for sleep. No, Lily was staying right where she was. âHmmph,â she added, her sleepy misery shining through as she buried herself further into her blankets. But she couldnât do it - Mary, Dorcas, Marlene... the noise, the movement; she hadnât been all the way asleep, and with a groan flopped over with far more drama than was necessary. âWhy? Why would you do this to me? Is someone dying? Is someone pregnant? Whatâs happening?â

@averykieren
She practically crashed through the doorway, cursing to herself as her things scattered, and boy, was Lily in a Moodâą. Everything that could have gone wrong today, definitely had, so she was pretty grateful - in the smallest part of the back of her mind, she didnât want to jinx it - that it was nearly over as she finished collecting her things and actually, properly, made her way into the potions classroom. Slughorn had told her if she wanted extra practice time, she was welcome to use the room, as long as she left things the way she found them, and truthfully....she was ready to turn around and do just that, because a few steps into the room found her face to face with her least favorite person in the world, and her mouth was open before she could stop herself. âGreat, of course you saw that. Perfect. You can die happy now, Iâm sure.â She huffed, rolling her eyes, but still couldnât help herself. âWhat are you doing in here, anyways?â

âHow did we ever survive without the ability to always have oven fresh cookies, even the next day?â she asked, laughing as Mary reached for them. There was almost nothing better than a fresh, warm cookie, nice and sift, as far as Lily was concerned. âMaybe we muggles are animals, after all,â she joked, rolling her eyes. âDo you think they still get overheated though?â she asked. âI mean, itâs cold, clearly,â she laughed, âbut with all that on...in the air... do they still overheat, or are they cold too?â

It was way too amusing to watch her face change colors. In fact, it had him wondering if it was possible to keep his same actions and style of speaking up to make her face the same color as her hair. Really, that would be amusing. Would she look like a full on carrot if that happened? Or, would he actually have to whip out a bit of magic in order to ensure that she was all the same color? It was an interesting thought, at least, but it was immediately dropped from his mind as Lily moved to straddle him.
Jamesâs eyebrows immediately shot up, his hand staying on her leg his smirk faltering ever so slightly as she mirrored his expression.  âDepends,â he offered up, shrugging. He was trying so hard to pretend that the way she was sitting on him, looking down at him wasnât affecting him like it was. But, he couldnât stop his fingers running up and down lightly against her thigh as he kept talking.  âWhat do you want to make this all seem a little more⊠even?â
âItâs not my job to know what I want, only to know that I want things,â she pointed out, still smirking at him. âIsnât it your job to magically know what I want? Read my mind, and all that? It should be.â A soft laugh escaped her, Lily fighting hard to keep a nervous titter out of it. With his hands on her, it was getting increasingly harder not to melt - it was strange really, this attraction between them. Lily had sworn for years that she had no crush, but the older they got, the closer they gotâŠwhatever it was between them was nearly undeniable - not that she wouldnât find a way to deny it given half a chance and the right audience.
Her fingers found the collar of his shirt, toying idly with the fabric as she focused her eyes anywhere but his face. If she looked at him, sheâd flush, and she wasnât sure she wanted him to make her blush again, it was so telling, and regardless of the fact that she was placed in the perfect spot to know just how well she was getting him backâŠshe was full of nerves. She was still full of nerves when she brought her gaze back to his a moment later, but the smirk was gone, this time, replaced by a softer, more earnest smile. âRead my mind, James Potter. What do I want?â
licnhcvrtâ:
nikola smiled at the redhead âis there really any part of the castle, besides common rooms, you shouldnât be allowed in?â sheâd go anywhere, too curious for her own good. âiâm not the best bet to follow, i tend to get distracted and wander off.â she joked, enjoying the feeling of laughter in her chest. âwell yeah, now weâre in this together, canât abandon your leader.â she was so happy to play along. âoh, this is to sign up for the art club, iâve been meaning to for a while but i guess thereâs more interest than i thought thereâd be.â
âWell...no,â she agreed a beat later, after consideration. Nikola had a point there, but Lily laughed a little anyways, âbut, i was meant to meet Potter for a study session. He can wait, heâs a big boy. Heâll live, right?â She grinned, demeanor brightening with each passing moment. Sheâd never spent much time with Nikola, but she seemed easy to get along with, and her good spirits were contagious. âThatâs how adventure happens!â But she liked where this mishap had taken her, it was something new, and Nikola certainly looked pretty excited about it. âAn art club?â She tilted her head, eyes scanning, for a moment, the long line of people waiting. âWho knew Hogwarts had so many passionate artists within,â she teased easily. âHow fun, though. This will be great.âÂ
she stepped back, unaware she had nearly jumped the queue that had formed, pressing her back to the wall. âsorry, i didnât mean to cut in, you go ahead.â she wasnât quite sure how some of her peers would react now. when sheâd returned to hogwarts no one had known sheâd been disowned, but now the news had spread through the castle and she was exhausted with fighting with friends and explaining herself, accepting condolences and other things. she wished something would happen so everyone would just forget.
Lily stepped back quickly as Nikola did, following too closely, as per usual and not paying proper attention like she should. It was only then, of course, that she realized she wasnât even where she needed to be, and she laughed, moving to join Nikola at the wall. âIâm good here, I think. Iâm not even meant to be in this part of the castle just now,â she admitted. âSomewhere throughout the corridors, I ended up following you,â she said, âseems wrong to leave you now. I meant to turn left at the trophy room. Oops. What is this queue even for?â
If anyone asked him his opinions on Quidditch, Peter would always come out and say he was a big fan of the sport, but in reality he didnât really care all that much about it. Sure, heâd listen to James talk for hours about his new plays and strategies, and he kept up to date with the scores from the national leagues, but he didnât really care for the actual game itself. What he did care about was the after parties, and boy were they good for him. Every time there was a Quidditch match there was always at least two parties going on afterwards, and a lot of fun to be had. In his younger years theyâd been a way to pull a few pranks and get some laughs, but now he was older they were brilliant way to relax and chat with folks he didnât get to see in classes. And if he was really lucky, he might score a few new clients for his and Benjyâs smuggling business.Â
He had thrown on a fresh set of clothes, hidden a few bottles of firewhiskey and packets of cigarettes in his bag, and was heading though the Gryffindor common room to be on his way. He wasnât sure where Remus, Sirius and James had gotten off to as he glanced around, but he did see the shock of familiar red hair in the corner which made him grin. Sidling over to Lily, he took a seat next to her, bowing his head a little in a mock greeting. âMy fair lady Lily, would you mind lending your wits for a cause of great importance?â He smiled warmly, unable to manage a smirk at his teasing, too happy to have caught the opportunity to speak with Lily.
@strawberryfieldsforevans
It had been a really great match, that much was for sure. Granted, it was no Gryffindor match, but Lily was kind of glad for that, for the pressure it took off of her shoulders, and she wasnât even on the team. Today, though, today had been really excellent, and it had been good to get to sit with all of her mates and enjoy it...even if everyone seemed pretty wiped afterwards. The joy of quidditch still eluded her, at times, but being back in the common room surrounded by chaos did not, and that was where she was settled when Peter found her, his game making her laugh. Curled up on the sofa, she was warm, but bored, and Peter, bless the gods for Peter, was bringing opportunity. Whatever could, and had, been said about Lily and her distaste for the rowdy Marauder boys, they were all wrong, and that much was evident in the warm smile Peteâs teasing brought out to join the sound of her laughter. âMy good sir, I would be honoured to help you get into the Ravenclaw party,â came her answer, Lily quick to realize what was happening, and her eagerness growing by the second. Turning a little on the couch, Lily threw her blanket off, revealing that she, herself, was also party ready, and her grin only grew. âI might have been....hoping someone wanted to go to the party.â She laughed at her own admission, shrugging as she continued. âLiterally could not ask for a better partner in crime, today, though. You are the best.â Lily cared for each marauder, individually, and against all claims to the contrary, and her misadventures with each of them could be so different - she couldnât wait to have another; Peter was always up to something fun, it seemed. âPromise weâll have more fun than all the other gatecrashers?â

Lily nodded, a wide grin on her face as she reached into her own bag, pulling out âFun dip, I got dad to send a bunch, and muddy buddies, and I grabbed some pasties, and some of those cookies from dinner last night, we are so set.â Sweets, hot chocolate, scarves, quidditch... today was going to be good. âBut I donât know.. I kind of hope it isnât. Not a dreadfully long one, anyway. An hour or so, though, I could be fine with.â
deermrpctterâ:
He watched as she rearranged her skirt, repositioning herself on the ground next to him. It was just enough movement though to get Jamesâs mind on other ways that that skirt could be moving around her legs. Really, it just seemed unfair that she was pulling it further down, straightening out the material to hide her legs. With the way Lily looked, she clearly needed to be hiking it up, breaking dress code with just how short her skirts always were. And, maybe when she was alone with him, he could hike it up even further, get his hands under it and make her weak at the knees with the way he was able to play her. James shook his head to try and clear his head of those thoughts, forcing himself back to what she was saying when he saw her mouth start to move again.
James shrugged, his grin mirroring hers.  âYou caught me. I like it when I have a girl that likes to ride me hard like that.â Though, her questioning his offer, almost like she was considering it, had him raising an eyebrow. Heâd expected it to be rejected flat out, but her response seemed to go a⊠different route. Pushing himself off his elbows and out of his slightly ridiculous pose, James leaned forward, his hand reaching out to rest on her knee, his thumb already tracing circles on the inside of her thumb. The volume of his voice dropped, and the smirk stayed ever present. âYouâre underestimating what sex with me is like.â
She barely had time to register just exactly how dirty that statement had been - she was, perhaps, for once too stunned to be her usual slap-happy self - because in the next instant it seemed, he was moving, that stupid smirk in place all the while, the one she hated more than anything in the world. And he was touching her. She knew she was blushing, could feel it all over her face, but to her credit, she knew she could easily chalk it up to what heâd said, sure, that could be easy right? It didnât have anything to do with the way heâd already been looking at her, or the way he was touching her, far too intimate, far too familiar, and somehow, almost too gently. It shook her, but she fought back a moment later, steeling herself as she took a very cleansing breath. âI donât think I am,â she said, finally, after what felt like a million years, but really hadnât been more than a moment or two.
But if he could do that to her, why couldnât she do it back? Hadnât he just said he liked girls who rode him hard? (She was definitely going to need a shower and thorough tooth brushing after repeating that thought, ew, she felt dirty.) Moving as quickly as he had, she threw a leg over his, leaving her to straddle his lap and magically managing not to remove his hand, looking very closely at him as she returned his smirk. âI think whatâs really happening is that youâre underestimating me, and what youâd get out of the bargain, and trying to sell me short because you couldnât think of something clever or quippy. Or you were curious, but thought I would say no again, because maybe I changed my mind after...you know, when I spent the night in your bed?â Her smirk grew, Lily enjoying the boldness while it lasted, and sure she would regret it all when she related this encounter later to Mary. âWhat else do I get?â

James nodded, smirking a little as she questioned his number choice.  âSeemed a good number,â he tried.  âBesides, Iâm forty six percent more attractive than Sirius, so I figured youâre probably a solid twenty three percent more than me. Which, sixty nine.â He watched as his cat jumped off her, darting away from where the two of them had been sitting. So help him if that dumb animal ended up getting lost again or stuck behind some random trophy case. That traitor though had been spending too much time with Lily as it was. He needed to try and become more acquainted with his actual owner sometime soon.
At her comments though, James couldnât help but raise an eyebrow.  âYou think I like some bossy redhead telling me what to do at every turn? Think I get some kind of weird joy out of it?â Shrugging some, his smile widened at her.  âCould be right, I guess. Maybe I do have a thing for headstrong women.â Letting out an exaggerated sigh, he laid back on the grass, propping himself up on his elbows to look over at her.  âWell, the last thing I can offer you is my body. But thatâll probably end up being turned down too.â
âWell, you are a boy,â she agreed with him, struggling not to laugh. It simply wouldnât get her anywhere if she laughed at all of his dirty jokes, that would only encourage him further, and she couldnât have that, no sir. Still, the math was sound enough, she figured, even if it was crazy people math that sheâd let herself be involved in. Still, with Henry gone, she needed something to focus on that wasnât... well, she supposed there was no way to avoid focusing on James. But even now, she hesitated, knowing she could just get closer if she wanted to - and she did, oh did she. Instead, she settled for twisting herself so she faced him better, straightening her skirt around her thighs as if it would stop him knowing what her legs looked like.
âI think you do like it, actually,â she challenged, giving him a cheeky grin. âThough I will say Iâm glad youâve gotten your ears cleaned. You listen far better now than you ever did before.â Unable to help herself, as often happened when teasing James Potter, she stuck her tongue out, forgetting how quickly playful turned to flirting between the pair of them. And his offer didnât help that, especially not when he was stretched out that way. âBut what if I did say yes to that one?â she asked, suddenly actively curious about what he was getting at in the first place. âItâs not like youâre completely awful to look at. You even smell pretty nice most of the time. Still seems like youâre the winner, there, though. You get all my awesomeness, and you get taken care of.. and I get sex?â
swearwolfremuslupinâ:
Remus held his tongue, wanting to argue with Lily but knowing he could never win against her. Not when she was fighting for her friend, not when she was doing so out of love. âThank youâŠâ He said quietly, staring down at their hands. âFor believing in me.â He leaned into her touch, resting his head against hers with a barely audible sigh. He wanted to believe her, so desperately. But sometimes he was alone. It wasnât always as simple as being a family. He had been alone the night Greyback climbed through his bedroom window. Alone in the hospital as the Healers told his parents what he was. Alone in the months to come when, each moon he became too dangerous for the people who were supposed to protect him to even stay in the same room as him. And he was alone now⊠any new legislation, any laws that were passed would affect him. Not her. Not James, not Sirius or Mary or Peter. They would affect him. âI donât know what I would do without you either, LilyâŠâ He murmured, his voice cracking with emotion as he withdrew, pulling back to catch her eye. âBut what are you going to do if they tell me I can no longer graduate? What are you going to do if they pull me from school or- or take away my wand?â He blinked tears from his eyes, willing her to understand he wasnât being dramatic. âFieldwake has a list of laws longer than a House Scarf, and every one is designed to strip me of my rights⊠every single one. Dad⊠he knows him. He knows the kind of person he is, the kind of enforcement he wants to place on- on people like me. What if he canât stop him? What are you going to do?â He could never ask her to drop out, and with the Ministryâs positions of power being filled by some rather questionable people, he could never ask her to draw attention to herself by becoming vehemently pro-Werewolf rights. There was already a target on her back as a Muggleborn. He refused to add another. âIâm sorry⊠thatâs not fair. I know you would do everything within your power to help me, but I donât want that⊠I would only drag you down⊠How long until they start trying to take your rights away from you? You canât afford to draw attention to yourself.â
Sometimes, Lily had found, the easiest, purest way to be there for someone was simply to be there, and while it wasnât something to be happy about on any level, she was glad, at least, that she could simply be here with Remus. His thanks, though unnecessary, were answered with a soft smile, and a tiny nod against his shoulder. She hadnât been there for a lot of his struggles, and she knew that, but she was here now, and so were his other friends, and she knew in her heart, that at least the boys would join her in whatever crusade she took up on Remusâ behalf, regardless of what he said to the contrary about their involvement. It was easy to say things like, âThen I leave, too, because if thereâs no room for you, thereâs no room for me. Weâll get you another one, share wands, whatever it takes, Remus, there is always a way, and none of us would stand by and let that happen to you.â Things like that were easy to say, and she knew that she sounded a fair amount like Potter when she said them, but she didnât much care. She could see for herself the pain and worry on his face, and she softened immediately, flippant words and half cocked ideas set to the side in an instant. His fears were real, his concerns were valid, and they were the very things that left her worrying for his well-being, because she knew Remus wouldnât fight them. He was strong, and he was braver than anyone Lily knew, the way he kept going on every day, but he wasnât the kind of boy who was going to stand up and say âIâm a werewolf and I wonât let you do this to meâ. And that was perfectly understandable to her - one of the first things sheâd learned, after learning how low she fell on the totem pole, was that - miraculously, and not in a good way - there were people that fell lower than she did, and it sickened her.  âI know that you donât want that for me, Rem,â she told him, meeting his gaze. âBut I donât want this for you, either, and if it does happen, I do need you to know that I will fight for your rights. But I understand, and for both of us, for what it means for where we already are, and where we would end up... I really hope it doesnât come to that. You are a wizard first, a human, first, and that should be whatâs important. For you, for all of the others that just want to live their lives as normally as possible.â She knew, of course, that legislation like this was always aimed at the nasties, but Remus wasnât nasty, he wasnât a monster, and he didnât deserve this. âCan we research some of the things he wants to pass? Thereâs got to be plenty of ways that they go against other ordinances and laws, it stands to reason that his legislation may not even be legal. Iâm fully prepared to at least bombard his offices with a letter writing campaign questioning his thought process, morals, and so on...Worrying doesnât help, though,â she added, voice gentle as she squeezed his fingers again. âSo where do we start?â
