CHAPTER 1140 ONE PIECE SPOILERS!
Ladies and gentlemen, due to popular demand (one person politely asking me), here's my first attempt at m/m, a Killingham x Sommers fic!
A/n: do not hesitate to give me advice, again this is my first time writing a m/m fanfic! I hope it's enjoyable!
Just fluff and cute moments, sommers trying hard to get Killingham's heart. Gunko is Sommers' adopted daughter because i said so.
If one thing was crystal clear between the Holy Knights, it was that Killingham acted like a flustered teenage girl when it came to flirting or getting complimented.
With the great pillow of fluff that he had on his back, It was inevitable he would get complimented. But he always blushed like a tomato exactly.
From Gunko, she'd always jump on his back whenever he walked and clung to his neck, he thought it was adorable from the younger woman and entertained her with no complaint, she'd always just extend her arms out in silence until he turned around and bent so she could jump on him, practically purring with happiness at the feeling of his fur.
From Shamrock, the commander undoubtedly always stared at the qilin's fur, occasionally taking off his gloves to run a hand through it, just silently. Killingham liked the quiet appreciation.. Shamrock was not a man of many words, his appreciation to his knights were extremely subtle. You basically had to squint to catch his underlying tones of sincere gratitude.
From Sommers… That man flirted like there was no tomorrow. Sommers swung both ways so no one was safe from his naturally flirtatious personality (except his daughter, Gunko. She had to repeatedly use her arrows to pull her dad away from flirting with some knights at least twice a week).
If there was one thing that Killingham had trouble dealing with, it was Sommers’ very obvious interest in him. ‘Subtle’ was not a word in Sommers’ vocabulary, he was loud, funny and clear in what he wanted.
Killingham judged this by the fact that Gunko stopped pulling Sommers away from him, which only meant Sommers gave his daughter a talk about why not to interrupt his daily flirt session with Killingham.
Killingham could not imagine himself in a relationship, not now, not before, not ever. No one saw his human form so why would anyone want to be with him? That was his logic and reason for why he never tried to date. But that seemed to skip over Sommers’ head everytime Killingham talked about it to the open, making sure that Sommers was listening. The older would whistle in a bored manner and continue his walk away.
No, seriously, what the fuck was there to like about him?
That was a question that Killngham pondered over ever since Sommers started his playful and boring flirting and watched it escalate into deeper words from him as he studied Killingham’s personality more. Since Sommers’ was a thorn man, his ability to pick up flowers without hurting himself came in handy. He did not know which flowers Killingham liked as a Qilin.. so the sensible choice of action would be to ask him directly–
Thanks to the Shepherd residence having large gardens, Sommers spent 10 minutes a day for a few weeks picking up 1 type of flowers a day and had a maid put them in a nice bouquet so he could drop it off to Killingham at random times of that day. Sometimes, he’d give it to him himself, sometimes he gave it to Gunko to pass it off (because who can say no to his adorable daughter?). Sometimes Killingham would find it in his bedroom without even knowing how it got there.
Killingham never exactly.. complained… Most of them tasted decent enough, some of them great even, but he would never praise Sommers for it or give any indication that he ate the flowers. Which drove Sommers insane! How was he supposed to know what to give Killingham next if he never gave any feedback?
Sommers sat frustrated in his bedroom, smoking a cigar as he decided on which bouquet he would give to Killingham the next day… It was getting more and more difficult because he had nothing to go off of!
The ones in front of him looked prettier than the previous ones… so he didn’t know whether to preserve them and hand them as a visual gift, or to give it to Killingham as food per usual… Sommers’ brows furrowed, he really wanted to continue giving Killingham gifts to try and win his heart over…
Hm… What would Killingham like? He was a world noble like Sommers was, so naturally anything he wanted would come to his feet the moment he asks. So Sommers needed to get creative with this. Gifts weren’t his forte since he just had the occasional one night stands… but with Killingham’s stubborn ass that thinks he’s not worthy of dating, it was the only option Sommers had.
He grabbed the flowers and went to Gunko’s house, not bothering to knock as he made himself at home and walked upstairs to her bedroom. He knocked and waited for her answer, the only courtesy he’d give his daughter.
“Come in” She answered, Gunko was sitting at her vanity and trying a few new methods of tying the bandages around her face, as she still faced the problem of sweat making them slip off. Sommers walked in and sat on her bed, putting the flowers down slowly so they wouldn't break.
Gunko only turned around briefly to raise an eyebrow to her dad. Sommers cleared his throat and began,
“So… You know how I’m trying to pursue… Killingham”
She just nodded, the bandages finding their way under her ears quickly, Sommers continued,
“First of all, it doesn’t bother you, does it?”
“Nevermind, good for me. So- I need to give him some flowers-”
“As usual” She remarked with a shrug, she was used to it.
“Can you help me make these into a flower crown?”
Gunko snorted, almost choking on air after that question- Sommers- the Shepherd Sommers… wanted to give his crush a flower crown-?
“There was no need for that reaction… Gunko..”
“I wish I had a snail recorder to record this moment.”
She commented and fixated the bandages around her mouth finally. She got up and sat next to her dad on the bed, she took the flowers to start before Sommers quickly pointed something out-
“Wait, you know how to make flower crowns?” He asked, as if that wasn’t the sole reason he barged into her house unannounced.
“Why wouldn’t I?” She said with a hint of red in her face..
“Who were you giving them to?” Sommers asked with gritted teeth.”
“No one, dad. Now focus on what I do if you want to snatch the qilin.” She said quickly and began demonstrating how to weave in the flower branches together to form a ring. Her small fingers worked delicately so that the flowers don’t crumble while they were bended and put together. She made the first demonstration piece with ease and put it on her head, smiling to Sommers, he laughed and patted her head.
“Careful, your hands are huge for the flowers”
“Wow.. as if I didn't know, thanks.”
He said dryly and started working on his (Killingham’s) piece..
It was hard- a whole bouquet gone up in thorns later, he still didn't have it… Gunko simply sighed and asked, “want me to make it for you?”
The next few tries were significantly better, thankfully. He could just go out and pick up flowers of a larger size but he was damn committed now. The final result was a bit rougher than he’d like to admit, since his larger hands definitely got in the way, but it stuck together!
Gunko gave him an approving look. That had taken ages... She needed rest now after having to deal with Sommers’ 3 bursts of anger over some flowers for his crush, so she promptly pushed him off the bed until he took the hint and got up and left her to her peace.
Sommers left her room with a wide grin on his face, very proud of the crown he made. Surprisingly enough, he ran into Killingham on his way home, the latter seemed to be heading towards Gunko’s place. Sommers hid the crown behind him as he waved to the qilin. (to tell the truth, Killingham wanted nothing more than to send Sommers in a state of sleep and walk away again, since he was only asked to go to Gunko’s house because Sommers himself appeared to be running panicked to her and Killingham was sent to check on him)
The qilin sighed and stopped, allowing the older man to approach him, Sommers laughed as he approached him,
“Killingham! Why were you going to Gunko’s house?”
“Because some dumbass was running like they were on a mission to her house.”
Sommers looked around confused, he didn’t spot anyone going to her place. Killingham continued,
“Gihahaha! Aren’t you one mean qilin? Hm?”
Sommers reached up to scratch the small amount of fur under Killingam’s chin and the latter tried his damn hardest not to let out a content noise, because that was his damn weak spot…
Killingham snapped his head quickly before he got too used to it, “Stop doing that.”
Sommers pouted in return, “You let everyone do that!”
True.. Killingham was being a hypocrite for not letting Sommers pet his fur as well- but God damn… Killingham always got flustered with Sommers.
Despite him actively not chasing love- or engaging with it of any sort.. Sommers’ affection took a different tone of love that it physically hurt Killingham and confused him day and night. The qilin could not properly regulate his feelings and come to a conclusion regarding Sommers. Killingham sighed and talked,
“Well whatever, glad you're okay, that's why I was sent to Gunko’s house anyways.”
“Ordered to worry about you actually.” Killingham corrected, closed his eyes and shook his head in disappointment , Sommers took the opportunity to slide the flower crown on top of his head, behind his horn and sitting perfectly on top of his pointed ears.
It took Killingham a second to realize what just happened- but the moment he realized It and bent his long neck down to yank it off- Sommers was laughing his ass off.
“Hey! It looks good on you!”
“C'mon! You wear the little souvenirs the other knights give you!”
Sommers tried to convince him.. his tone hinting at slight sadness, but to no avail, Killingham took it off of his head and looked at it in his hands.. Huh.. It looked– decent enough.
“Gunko taught me how to make ‘em.” Sommer's commented softly, kinda hoping Killingham would put it back on. The qilin raised a skeptical eyebrow… “I.. I'll keep it, that's it.”
“So you like it!” Sommer beamed and Killingham tried to downplay it immediately, “It just looks good! They're flowers and you know I have a weakness for them!!”
Sommers didn't wait and let his body betray him, he immediately wrapped Killingham in a tight hug and basically almost pulled him off of the ground with how tight he was hugging Killingham. The qilin sweaked when he got grabbed and tried to squirm out.out of Sommers’ rough hold but failed miserably.
Sommers eventually set him down and patted his head. This time, Killingham did not move away and Sommers smiled, “Hey, Killingham.”
“Let yourself be loved a little, yeah? won’t hurt your soul…” Sommers said as reached up to give the qilin a kiss on his head with a wide grin.
Killingham just nodded timidly and clutched on the flower crown. Sommers gave him a pat on the back before he went off to his own house, that was… scary! Even for Sommers himself.
Killingham just stood there stunned at what happened… He watched Sommers leave before putting the crown back on his head shyly, and walking back to his own house
Killingham thought about Sommers’ advice for the whole night and couldn’t sleep normally, which was unusual since he usually slept at damn random times, and now he was being kept up by a stupid little sentence..
Should he really allow Sommers to love him? Would that even be.. Good? Is Sommers just fucking with him to get him to bed? No, he’s a Qilin. If Sommers wanted, he could just seduce a hot woman at a bar-
Ugh! Killingham bonked his head against his pillow and stared off to the side. He can think in the morning.
It started off with the boring meeting between the knights to discuss routines and new missions, he met Sommers and Gunko at the door and bent down to give the still sleepy woman a high five, she jumped and reciprocated the high five, feeling a bit more awake now.
Sommers didn’t extend his hand, since his simple ‘good morning’s were always rejected brutally.
Instead… It was Killingham that extended his hand to Sommers this time. The latter took it happily and pulled him in to complete the hug just as he was used to.
“There’s our cute qilin!”
“Sommers-! I have a name!”
Gunko butted in, “I vote for cute qilin!”. Shamrock held the door handle and spoke, “ditto, what Gunko said.” He then opened the door and walked in to sit next to his dad.
Killingham gave a defeated sigh as he walked in, not bothering to refute his new nickname. This time the only empty seat was next to Sommers so he took it without complaint.
Some snacks were placed around by the slaves and Gunko threw a few in her mouth with a happy hum.
Killingham couldn't listen to a damn word that Garling was saying, the crescent haired man was inarguably an annoying jackass, even if he was in a position of authority.
He leaned over to pick up a plate that was near him that had different sweets to slide it to Gunko, making her happier, Sommers smiled with her happiness and took a piece from her plate and held it up to Killingham without thinking.
Sommers tilted his head to the side with a smile, encouraging Killingham to eat the piece from his hand… The qilin eventually gave in with a sigh and curled his head down to eat it, not aware that Shamrock, Gunko and the other Holy Knights present were staring at them.
Sommers obviously did not give a single fuck and was just happy Killingham ate from his hand!!
Killingham munched slowly, trying to downplay the obvious gesture of love from Sommers, but Gunko was already snickering happily and Shamrock had a soft expression on his face. Garling was as oblivious as always.
Slowly but surely, Sommers’ love would seep into Killingham’s heart at a slow pace. The qilin started tolerating his advances more and more by each day. Sommers was more than ecstatic at this, knowing that he finally cracked into Killingham’s tough walls.
His flirting would result in a regular conversation with Killingham, nothing more and nothing less. Sommers never complained, any crumbs given to him by the other was more than welcome. Even Gunko had started noticing what flowers Killingham took a liking to so that Sommers could give him more of them.
Sommers ordered for Killingham’s favourite flowers to be grown much more in his residence, not caring how stupid he'd look for having the same flowers splattered around like mindless copies.
Sommers now stuck next to Killingham for days, since the latter didn't shoo him off as usual. Their conversations were pretty simple, with Sommers occasionally dropping a “what are you doing later today?”, to try and gauge out how to ask him on an ‘official’ date.
Killingham would give back the generic ‘busy.’ Since his heart still seemed to be in conflict. Sommers never argued even though he himself could tell it was a blatant lie (even Shamrock confirmed that Killingham did not have anything on his schedule on those days).
Garling sent both of them on a mission all of a sudden, seems like some pirates were causing trouble on an island a bit too close to the Holy land. Killingham was the only one originally assigned to go but Sommers volunteered ‘just in case’. Garling just shooed him off, not caring in the slightest if someone goes with Killingham or not, it wasn’t that big of a mission anyways.
Gunko took the liberty to send them off with the abyss and waved them off. Obviously, with such a combined destructive power, the mission was a breeze to them. Killingham cleaned his trident off in the ocean while Sommers leaned against a tree and picked at his teeth with a thorn, not bothered by the blood on his own sword.
“Shouldn’t you at least try to make yourself representable before going back to the Holy Land?” Killingham asked.
“Why? I’m gonna take a bath when I’m back anyways–”
Sommers was interrupted by the trickles of water drops falling on him, he raised a gloved hand to feel the rain and laughed, “speak of the devil! Looks like my shower came to me!”
Killingham sighed at the stupid thought, his face frowned, not liking the fact that his fur would get soaked wet with how heavy the rain would eventually get. The 2 of them began the trek back to the meeting point so they can call Gunko to take them back.
Sommers wordlessly took his coat off, Killingham was 2 seconds away from yelling at him when he felt the coat slam into his face in full force and Sommers just laughed at the sight.
“It’s cold! Why would you take it off!?”
“No one wants our cutie qilin’s fur getting soaked.” Sommers winked from behind his sunglasses.”
Killingham took the coat off his slightly wet fur and attempted to give it back to Sommers, “You’re insufferable, you’ll get a cold like this.”
“You think a little cold will take me out of business?! Oh! You wound me!” Sommers faked being hurt and ordered a strand of thorns to push it back up to put it back on Killingham’s head…
The qilin gave up. There was no convincing this sadistic man. Sommers sliced down any tree branches in their way in silence, allowing them easy passage. The walk was silent, but not the awkward silence that used to loom between them at the start, this was a welcome silence, a comforting silence even. There was no need to talk after the brutal murder that was committed not even one hour ago.
Sommers occasionally glanced at killingham just to make sure he didn’t look like he needed anything. When they finally reached the meeting point, Killingham called Gunko on the den den mushi and she used the abyss to get them back on the spot.
She was alone in the room where she summoned them. Seeing Killingham with Sommers’ coat on his head was certainly a sight… She raised an eye but didn’t comment, since they seemed pretty tired already.
Sommers bent down to give Gunko’s hair a quick ruffle, she was in her pyjamas getting ready for bed, clearly having stayed up to make sure they were back safe. Killingham gave her hair the same treatment and thanked her. The 3 said their good nights and they walked to their respective houses.
Killingham made it into his house, into his bathroom, before noticing the coat that was still on his head.
“Fuck… the luck i have…” He cursed and set the coat aside neatly, he threw it to a slave to clean while he freshened up himself. He really didn’t wanna go to Sommers’ house but it had to be done…
He washed the blood off of him and tidied his looks up a bit better, luckily the coat was clean by the time he was ready to go (even in just his pyjamas). Killingham walked silently, as he was trained like that over the years. He sighed, he did not know what a normal life looked like, did not remember what his normal appearance was, since he always hid in his human-beast form, he did not remember a good moment from his ‘childhood’. His mind kept overthinking those thoughts before he realized he was at the Shepherd’s residence.
He knocked very lightly, the knights were also taught to hear the most silent of noises. After a few seconds, the door cracked open, and Sommers peeked outside in his tank top (and shorts thankfully) and opened the door, his smile wasn’t the wide grin he displayed, just a soft and tired smile.
Killingham spoke after looking the other way, “Your coat..”
Sommers chuckled, “You could’ve kept it, not like its my only one”
“That would be improper.”
“You’re a half animal, no one’s going to bash you for it.” Sommers said with a smirk.
“I’m human, Sommers, i just ate a zoan devil fruit”
Killingham extended his hand with the coat out again and Sommers just had to take it then.
“Excuse me-?!” The qilin shrieked out of shock.
“I heard you the first time!”
“Then why are you asking me to repeat?” Sommers threw the coat on his head again and laughed this time. Killingham yanked it off and sighed,
“...can’t say I hate it.”
It was what makes him, him after all. Sommers was one damn unique man. He opened the door a bit and nodded inside,
“Why don’t you come for some tea?”
“What if I accidentally fall asleep?”
Sommers raised a brow, “I’ll just wake you up.”
“I’ll look embarrassing.”
“Do you need to look good for someone?”
Ouch, that clocked Killingham, if he said yes then the clear next question would be “to who?”, and If he said no then it would completely call him out since he regularly falls asleep around everyone else. Sommers knew that and patted his shoulder.
The qilin walked inside and followed Sommers, lovely house as always with over the top details and every crevice thought and planned out thoroughly. Sommers guided him to the living room and he sat. The house owner went to make tea, without noticing, he made it in Killingham’s favourite flavour…
He set the 2 teas down and sat next to Killingham, taking his own and sipping it wordlessly. Killingham took the tea served to him and drank too…
“You knew my favourite blend?” He asked Sommers casually. What he didn’t anticipate was him seeing Sommers jump slightly- damn he was busted–
Sommers knew his crush on Killingham was just damn obvious, but he never got himself to properly voice it before, just hiding behind flirting and a lot of gift giving.
“I just noticed it when we were at meetings..” He tried to brush it off and Killingham smiled, it was nice to be seen by someone… very nice actually, new to him, but nice.
“Thanks, tastes better here.”
“Of course, it's from my hands.” Sommers got cockier for a moment… He took in a sharp breath before he continued.
“So, did you give it a thought?”
“Give what a thought?” Killingham asked as he placed his cup down to talk freely.
“Oh.. Uh… yeah.. That kiss you gave me was nice.”
“What kiss?” Sommers asked as he tried to remember..
“The one after you gave me that flower crown–”
“You still have that and– remember that!?”
“Tch.. of course.. to both questions” Killingham answered timidly.
Sommers exhaled, this was going better than he thought it would go, seems like Killingham liked him back. Sommers raised his cup and brought it towards Killingham’s mouth,
“You gave me my own tea, Sommers..”
Killingham took a sip and hummed happily, Sommers’ tea had a nice lavender taste to it,
“never thought you'd like the taste of flowers”
“Well, I got curious, giving away too many bouquets sure does have an effect.. turns out, flowers pair well with tea.”
Killingham nodded and continued sipping on his own tea in silence before Sommers decided to break the question, even if he wanted to do so on a lavish date in a fine restaurant, but this atmosphere was nice, and perfect.
“So, Uh.. uhm.. would you be open to dating me?”
The qilin's face flushed red as he tried to hide his face in the poor cup of tea.. Sommers laughed at the cuteness, trying to lighten the mood.
Killingham shook his head and tried to compose himself while putting the cup down. He thought of this so many times… Now it was time–
It shouldn’t hurt to try.
Sommers leaped and grabbed Killingham’s neck, pushing the latter into his chest roughly while laughing,
“Took you long enough!” Sommers beamed, his sleepiness gone at finally being official with Killingham.
“What- What do you mean– Hey let me go!!” Killingham tried to fight him off but Sommers just squeezed tighter.
“I’ve been waiting for you for so long!”
“Was I unsure for such a long time–?
“Oh God! Even Shamrock began to notice and get frustrated.”
Sommers finally left Killingham and he sat up…
“Sorry uh… I was thinking it through.”
“You needn’t apologize, I understand your concerns… I waited for you, and here we are.” Sommers said proudly.
“So… How do we do this?” Killingham asked.
Sommers leaned in to shower his head in kisses while giggling. Killingham could not run away from the playful assault and sat politely, taking it all. It wasn’t so bad, really.
“I just love you, you sit pretty and take my love!” Sommers smiled as he left Killingham with a pat on his fur.
“Wow, as if Relationships aren’t between 2 partners.”
Sommers gave him a firm pat on his back, maybe a little too roughly but the affection (and friendly intention) was there.
“So, I get cuddle privileges now right?” Sommers asked enthusiastically and waited for the other's answer.
Killingham sighed, trying to fake his annoyance, but he nodded..
“Yeah, you do.” he tried to act nonchalant about this, but failed miserably once Sommers leaned towards him and carried him bridal style with practical ease, his muscles flexing to accommodate for the qilin's weight.
Killingham wrapped his arm around Sommers’ neck in a frantic panic since he did not expect to be carried when he just came here to give Sommers his coat back.
“Not until I abuse my cuddle privileges!! You don't know how long I've been jealous of Gunko because she gets to feel your fur!”
Killingham curled his neck to rest on Sommers’ before he replied,
“You were jealous of your own daughter!?”
“Listen, everyone was jealous because you give her piggyback rides, everyone wants to have a feel too!”
“I'm a human, not an animal on display!”
“Just share your fur with us then–”
Killingham bonked Sommers’ head with his own, before realizing that they were in the bedroom already, and Sommers' was putting him down.
Killingham grabbed the first pillow that came into his hand and threw it at Sommers, earning a fake shocked gasp from him.
“You just carried me unsolicited!”
“Get used to it. Next time I'll carry you around marijoa to flaunt you”
Killingham threw another pillow at Sommers before slumping back in his bed, Sommers caught the pillow this time.
“I'm tired,” Killingham stated.
“You're on a bed, sleep.”
“I have a perfectly ok house to sleep in.”
“But we're partners now!!”
“oh.. So you're inviting me to sleep with you-?”
Killingham's face flushed a deep red as he twisted his neck to avoid Sommers’ gaze.. Sommers did not have the patience for this. He threw both pillows back on the bed, put his glasses on the nightstand and joined Killingham all too quickly.
He wrapped an arm around the qilin and brought him closer– Killingham did not have the time to protest at all..
“I hope you're damn comfy.” he told Sommers with a snarky tone.
“Very much so… zzz…” Sommers replied and fell asleep on the spot and started to snore. Damn was he that comfy? Killingham asked himself. He got comfortable as well since he had no choice in this matter.
Killingham quickly relaxed, the weight of Sommers’ arm on him was quite welcoming, it grounded him and made him feel.. Safe.. like he belonged and wasn’t an anomaly. Sommers buried his head into Killingham’s fur. like father like daughter, Killingham thought and stopped a giggle. Gunko was just like that.
It was the best sleep Killingham got in years. In fact, he even overslept. It was Sommers that got up first and pouted when he had to leave Killingham to wake up and go to work as a knight.
Even after his morning routine, Killingham did not stir awake at all, leaving Sommers to chuckle. He approached the sleeping beauty and pressed a kiss on his head, damn he looked so peaceful!
He ended up just telling Garling that Killingham excused himself for the day. Both Shamrock and Gunko were disappointed that they wouldn’t get to play with him today but they sucked it up.
It was very evident that Sommers was in a better mood, even if he always was, today was different, he was more laid back, relaxed… Gunko had her suspicions that something had happened but she couldn’t speak in the meeting.
Killingham woke up frantically panicking. No way did Sommers not wake him up! And how did he not wake up when his body was used to waking up at 7 am sharp for years! He was so going to beat Sommers ass for this…
Sommers pulled Gunko and Shamrock aside after the meeting to break the news,
“So, lads. Me and the cutest qilin are official!!”
Gunko smiled as she congratulated him, “finally!!”. Shamrock nodded in agreement, “that was certainly a long wait.”
Sommers chuckled, “Can you blame me? He's practically like an insecure baby!”
“Did you seriously not wake me up!?” Killingham yelled as he finally found Sommers.
“You looked so cute sleeping, I couldn't wake you up in good heart!”
“Sommers you idiot! I have a job to do as well!”
“No one is going to tell you off for just one day, relax!”
“I had my father approve of it.” Shamrock commented with a satisfied tone.
“Garling approved of a day off??” Killingham exclaimed, his eyes almost popped out in shock.
“I have my ways,” The commander grinned.
“He means he reminds Garling that he's the last one to continue the family name” Gunko calmly remarked and Shamrock glared daggers at her while she looked away innocently.
That earned a giggle from both Killingham and Sommers. Now that they were a couple, they looked damn adorable laughing together like that. Gunko and Shamrock shared a glance that told the other exactly that, then Killingham spoke,
“If Garling gave me a pass, I guess I have no need to be here then, I heard it’s an empty day for most of us”
Sommers nodded and agreed, “Yeah, I was thinking of ditching too, don’t feel like training.”
“You’re saying that because you want to steal me to feel my fur.”
The 4 of them laughed, Shamrock nudged Gunko slightly and she nodded, she spoke after clearing her throat, “Me and Commander will excuse ourselves, we still have much paperwork to do.”
Sommers pouted but nodded, “Come anytime, I’ll keep Killingham prisoner in my room so you can cuddle his fur whenever you want!”
Killingham smacked Sommers back and reprimanded him, “I’m not a pet!”
“You said I have cuddle privileges!” Sommers countered.
Shamrock patted Gunko’s back and took her away, leaving the boyfriends to argue over a silly debate.
Sommers found Killingham wherever he hid. Sommers knew he still needed to coax his new boyfriend out of his very hard walls.
Sommers usually did not have the patience for such ‘trivial things’ as he used to call dating. But now? There was nothing more he wanted than to make sure Killingham was comfortable in his own… tediously slow pace.
He made sure to try and read Killingham’s body language instead of his face, try to understand his tone, his intentions, all the unspoken words the qilin was too afraid to say.
Late at night, Sommers would comb through Killingham’s fur as they talked, deep conversations at the peak of the night, where no one could judge them, or hear them.
Killingham randomly fell asleep more around Sommers, which only made Sommers proud, since that meant that Killingham trusted him.
His hands that he thought had one purpose, which was to cause chaos, now had a secondary and more important mission : soften up for Killingham.
Sommers’ hands were rough from the years of hard work, unlike Shamrock or Gunko's, he was raw, rough, chaotic and too quick to head into battle. Killingham shyly admitted to Sommers that sometimes, on the wrong spot, the roughness would cause him unease.
Sommers never wanted to feel the way he felt at that moment.. ever again.
He'll be better for Killingham, be the man he deserves, just like Killingham was trying to open up for him, he would kill to do the exact same back.
Shamrock was busy choosing a suit, Gunko was next to him choosing a dress from the Figarland's huge closet. So many options to choose from!! She was excited and picked a baby blue dress, Shamrock gave her a nod of approval before they both got into the fitting rooms to change.
They walked outside together and Garling noticed them, "where are you two going?"
Shamrock sighed and explained, "Sommers proposed to Killingham, we're attending the small party he's hosting." Gunko nodded in confirmation.
Garling raised an eyebrow, "they were dating?"
Gunko hit back, "you would know if you spent a moment of your precious time to interact with us."
Shamrock quickly pushed her past his father before he could say shit.
"You're playing with fire, gunko."
She shrugged and smiled innocently as they walked to the Shepherd’s residence.
Hope you enjoyed!! have a good day babes!!! 💛💛
