The 2026 Dragon Age Census Survey

It's time!

The goal of this survey is to collect data on the demographics of and choices made by the Tumblr-based Dragon Age fandom. Everything is 100% anonymous, and all questions on the form are skippable - just keep in mind that the more questions you answer, the more accurate and thorough the data will be!

The form is split into the following sections:

Voter demographics and series-wide preferences - this asks things like your age range, gender, favourite game in the series, and which mainline and side-content installments you've played

Choices specific to and your preferences within Dragon Age: Origins

Choices specific to and your preferences within Draon Age II

Choices specific to and your preferences within Dragon Age: Inquisition

Choices specific to and your preferences within Dragon Age: The Veilguard

And a very optional bonus section where you're invited to share your more specific opinion on each individual main game and companion, along with a place to share any feedback on the blog and suggestions for future tournaments!

This form will remain open for a month - submissions will be accepted until July 7th, and results will be shared shortly after.

Admittedly the singular part of criticism aimed at Veilguard that I don’t understand — and that I come across entirely through posts talking about it since I filter my dash excessively — is people condemning the characters for some sort of negative traits because, like. I wish these characters were worse! I wish their sociopolitical context gave them biases and rough sides that any person has so they feel like actual people with biased opinions and not talking heads for the writers’ points of view! I wish they felt like people I can dissect and point out clear unreliable narratives in. There is a difference between “adults that work through their issues maturely” (fun! a ton of RPGs do that) and “characters that barely have imperfections” (boo boring boring boring)

And the factions too! I feel like everyone and everything was so… sanitized!

Back in origins you couldn’t go 10ft without a moral dilemma that required you to determine the lesser of two evils!

It's really REALLY choice driven - multiple endings and paths through the story, if you get into the lore you'll be playing it again and again.

I really didn’t ever expect we’d ever even see Veilguard. In light of this article…..once again shoutout to the dev team for making such a beautiful game under the absolute worse time crunch. For the writing, characters, and gameplay itself to be this good under such hellish circumstances is incredible. Also fuck Bioware and EA for the record.
