It's really annoying to see the fandom keep trying to diminish rhaenicent as yurislop and to claim that the queer relationships in fire and blood are so much better.
Hotd has made two of its main characters queer, giving us both bisexual and lesbian representation and has explored queer experiences such as struggling with your gender identity and compulsory heterosexuality and has made these themes central to the plot.
Rhaenyra and Alicent have one of the most layered and complex relationships in the show and unlike the queer ships in f&b, it is being developed over the entire story instead of being a side plot consisting of side characters. I would go as far to say as hotd revolves around Rhaenyra and Alicents relationship, it's such an integral part to the story.
and why is rhaenicent always reduced to slop and not lucemond and gwaynston. no hate to these ships, i'm just pointing out the difference in how the fandom treats them
HOUSE OF THE DRAGON S01E07 — “Driftmark” S03E06 — “Faceless Men”
the difference in reactions to being jealous is killing me. rhaenyra gets all dejected and teary eyed while alicent calls rhaenyra a walking red flag and starts sabotaging her relationships
