LADY GAGA ✝ ABRACADABRA (2025)
T-shirt that says “I understand the themes and characterization of media I like, sometimes I just make jokes”
Keep your heart to yourself, give your soul to the night… Come to me when you're lonely… Come to me when you need something new… — Fright Night (1985), Come to Me
BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA (1992) INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE (2022—) NOSFERATU (2024)
I have never been on the same page as fandom’s clear communication fetishists and I never will be. I love miscommunication, concealment, pigheadedness, and lies. I think characters should talk around what they have to say and ignore each other and impute needs and beliefs onto others that have nothing to do with those other people and everything to do with maintenance of the ego. A little clear communication is fine but it should come at the end and be earned by repeated instances of snobbery, tomfoolery, self righteousness, or blockheadedness. If you decide you hate a character just because that character isn’t communicating in the way a therapist might coach them to, well consider that people don’t actually talk like that at all and that most of us get things wrong many times before we inch our way out of the labyrinthine darkness of our own heads.
LADY GAGA. "Abracadabra" Music Video.
My analysis of Emmrich is that when the team goes out drinking he mostly sits watching them gossip while he drinks fancy wine and the others think he'll just sort of sit and quitely relax until, several glasses in, he opens with "May I say something unkind?" and then proceeds to drop tea so scalding it could boil an ocean
Emmrich & Lucanis banter about/with Spite because it's a very fun angle of conversation between them

Your Anders/Cullen fanfic lives in my head rent free, I just wanted to thank you for writing it and let you know I've read it like five times already
Oh my gosh, that's so lovely to hear! <3<3
(I don't advertize my fics consistently here so for anyone curious, this one can be found on Ao3)
Reblog to make it die faster
Like to charge, reblog to cast.
so when straight people ask me why I say I’m “queer” or “gay” instead of sharing my actual identity as a panromantic demisexual non-binary sapphic queer I just tell them “ok look, when you’re talking to someone who isn’t local and they ask you where you’re from and you either say the name of the largest city nearby or ‘town name, suburb of large nearby city’ so they can get some geographical context of where you’re located right, bc they’re probably not going to know the name of the little town you actually live in.”
but if you’re talking to a local you can say the name of your actual town bc they have a greater chance of knowing where/what that is.
ok well when I’m talking to a straight person I start with queer bc chances are they aren’t as familiar with the context of all the little towns in that big queer city and need gps (gay positioning system) to find me.
if I’m talking to another queer person and I say I live in a suburb of gay city in a town called panromantic on the demisexual side of the tracks which is in the county of queer and I live off the intersection of non-binary and sapphic, they’d probably be able to find me with little to no problems, make sense?
Hi, Tumblr. It’s Tumblr. We’re working on some things that we want to share with you.
AI companies are acquiring content across the internet for a variety of purposes in all sorts of ways. There are currently very few regulations giving individuals control over how their content is used by AI platforms. Proposed regulations around the world, like the European Union’s AI Act, would give individuals more control over whether and how their content is utilized by this emerging technology. We support this right regardless of geographic location, so we’re releasing a toggle to opt out of sharing content from your public blogs with third parties, including AI platforms that use this content for model training. We’re also working with partners to ensure you have as much control as possible regarding what content is used.
Here are the important details:
We already discourage AI crawlers from gathering content from Tumblr and will continue to do so, save for those with which we partner.
We want to represent all of you on Tumblr and ensure that protections are in place for how your content is used. We are committed to making sure our partners respect those decisions.
To opt out of sharing your public blogs’ content with third parties, visit each of your public blogs’ blog settings via the web interface and toggle on the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
For instructions on how to opt out using the latest version of the app, please visit this Help Center doc.
Please note: If you’ve already chosen to discourage search crawling of your blog in your settings, we’ve automatically enabled the “Prevent third-party sharing” option.
If you have concerns, please read through the Help Center doc linked above and contact us via Support if you still have questions.
unfortunately, a lot of the userbase won't opt out. those who don't see this post, those who have posted to tumblr but don't anymore, users on older versions of the app who forget to opt out next time they're on desktop, etc. the point of making it opt-out is to take advantage of people who wouldn't have opted in but don't/can't opt out in time. automatically opting out people who have discouraged search crawling is a gesture that helps Tumblr look more kind, but from the fact that everyone else has to manually opt out, Tumblr is definitely not looking benevolent.
I wonder, will Tumblr/Automattic be selling images from deactivated blogs? I assume deactivated blogs can't opt out.
when will they start selling this data? Is it already too late to keep them from selling every image you've posted before you opted out?
and if they're especially malicious, I wonder if they could get away with saying "this image is from a blog that's opted out, but it was reblogged by a blog that hasn't opted out, so we're selling the image that's on that non-opted-out blog."
making users need to opt out to keep their images from being taken and sold is a shitty move that makes it clear Tumblr/Automattic don't respect our privacy, and @staff are really not giving us much info here to suggest otherwise.
If you see this post; go to your settings, scroll down, select Visibility, and select 'prevent third party sharing' to avoid AI being trained off your blog
I go about a year not opening this hellsite/app due to being busy on other hellsites/apps and immediately upon my return, I see a gifset reminding me of the reason for my longstanding loyalty to this place: yet another gifset of guys making out making me aware of another piece of queer media I wouldn't be aware of otherwise. Thank you for your continued service, never change, etc.
Tumblr is doing some stupid AI shit so go to blog settings > Visibility > Prevent third-party sharing.
also use Nightshade and Glaze to protect your artwork and images!!!!
here's a link to Nightshade
here's a link to Glaze
best combination is usin Nightshade then Glaze on your images. Glaze creates a protective layer and Nightshade poisons the A.I. software.
when you read fanfic, what grammar mistake makes you the angriest, you pedantic asshole?
improper paragraph breaks
overuse of descriptor words as nouns ("the black-haired one") instead of NAMES
unclear perspective
GODDAMN. TENSE. SWITCHING.
spelling errors
improper punctuation use
run-on sentences
something else- in the tags
I don't care about any of this what is wrong with you people
if you rb, put your answer in the tags as well as whether or not you're a writer yourself
I think it’s interesting to look at a moment from a movie or show or something and go “in real life, it would actually happen like this” (for example, explaining how ace attorney cases would actually go down in a real courtroom) but the second you start acting like something being unrealistic for the sake of the plot is inherently a bad thing then I kill you I kill you I kill you
it’s all about VERISIMILITUDE, not realism !!! a detail or plot-point may be unrealistic by the standards of our world, but as long as it makes sense in the established context of the fictional world that it takes place in, then it’s NOT A BAD THING !!!
Reblog if you write fanfic and would be totally down with your followers coming into you askbox and talking to you about your fic
