ponyboy and johnny when they see the most diabolical shit known to man
When they all were younger, Soda and Steve used to always hang around this boy that Pony only remembers as really blond. He doesn’t remember what the boy was like, but he was around until Pony was about 6. Pony isn’t sure why he left, or what happened to him.
Steve and Soda had this friend, Dallas, that they introduced to their friend group. He didn’t have a great home life, but he and Steve got along real well. The two didn’t remember how they met him, he was always just there. Until his family up and moved away.
Johnny recalls a kid only a bit older than him that always treated him like he was so much younger, but he was nice enough. Johnny remembers them staying together at the lot one night, ‘said he got kicked out. Johnny recalls his half-crazed rant about how his parents were splittin’ and how his dad beat him up and they were headin’ to New York so this may be the last time they talked. He was gone the next morning.
Darry remembers a friend that grew up with the gang, a boy with anger issues and awful parents. Darry remembers his hollow face, how his ears would flick at any sudden noise. How agitated he would get whenever Johnny had new bruises. Darry remembers being awful sad when Dallas left, the kid was only 9 and had been through enough with his parents divorcing.
A 13-year-old came to Tulsa four years later. He came with hardened eyes that had lost all hope, longer hair, and grin that said he didn’t give a damn about anyone or anything. It was very apparent that he’s run away.
The only issue? That boy could not be Dallas.
postin is optional btw 😔😔😔
i need to watch Dead poets society for the ninth time or i think i'll die
if he is to steal his status, power, and family’s money - it is only fair for him to inherit his punishment and blame as well
KILL THAT BITCH!!!!!
sodapop's the type of person who has affection attacks. he'll just be talkin to ponyboy n out of nowhere he'll be squeezin him in his arms or squeezin his cheeks while he looks at Darry n begs for help
agnostic is lowkey the funniest belief system it's just like yeah idk it's none of my business
I LOVE U WHITE BOY CARL
The thing with Cherry not saying hi to Ponyboy, and retreating back into her regular social life is that- whether or not she waved isn’t the point. It’s what their connection stood for. Just a few hours, nothing more than that. Both of them saw that they weren’t alone in their observations or dreamy thinking, there were people out there that thought the same way and wondered the same way. Who was from a different side but had some basic, human worries you know? Things are rough all over— seeing the humanity, but really both of them already knew that all along.
The best way I can describe Cherry is sort of like The Breakfast club, they likely never saw each other in the halls or if they did they went right on past pretending not to know each other. Maybe it gnawed in their stomachs to not say hi or break the mold but— it was rigid. What matters most is that it happened and for a few hours they really reached and touched and didn’t have to pretend for once. These few hours that will be remembered for the rest of their lives.
Dally n Sylvia who break up n come back all the time, drivin' their entire circle crazy n hurtin' each other, coz even though they'll never tell each other, they feel that the other's the only person who understands them n will accept them no matter how horrible they are.
throughout the film neil's laugh is so distinct, his voice is so loud and exhilarating, and what really gets me is that this voice so full of life won't be remembered by anyone. by his parents, by his friends. one day todd will forget his voice. it won't even be a memory. it will be gone, just like he is. just like his hope and dreams, his passion and determination, his love and his sorrow, the touch of his skin, his firm hand shakes, his polite smiles and toothy grins. all gone. and one day, todd will think back to those three months at welton before that fateful night, and he won't see neil's face, or hear neil's voice. he'll have a vague recollection of small afternoon study sessions, running to the cave, boys laughing in the locker room, neil on the stage, everything slightly blurry at the edges and nothing clear. just a feeling, a warm panging sensation in his chest, unattended reunions, old regrets, greying hair, existing in a time that neil never touched, never experienced, never made his mark. and todd will never know what it meant, so he forgets, because it's easier than admitting that there once was a boy named neil who he loved. that's a secret he'll keep to himself. the only thing that ever truly was his, to hold, to understand, to perceive, to experience without anyone else's prying eyes and unwanted perception. and every time i hear neil’s laugh i think of everything they lost. everything neil lost, his parents, his friends, todd. the silence that filled the perry household, his and todd’s dorm room, the cave, the hallways. the emptiness that neil left behind, that they didn’t know needed filling until he was gone. that space that neil didn’t know he took up so beautifully. as a caring friend, a dutiful son, an excellent student. and nothing more, not a loving husband, not a profound actor, not an amazing parent, co worker, or any other role neil would have filled just as well. there’s a space that no one knows is missing. but as time goes on, they can see it, todd can feel it. and he’ll walk down streets, sit in coffee shops, teach in classrooms, go to theatres to see plays, and hope that maybe he’ll hear neil’s laughter, see his soft smile out of the corner of his eye, exactly where he should be. and he’ll be there, just as he always should’ve been, and everything will be right again. normal. but that never happens. and todd can’t imagine it any different, can’t feel neil, can picture him as he was or how he would be now. it’s all gone, even the sound of his laughter. and todd wonders when he started to forget, what he lost first. did he even try to hold on? did any of them?
do you know the correlation between these images or are you normal
imagine you cheat on ur boyfriend while he's in jail, he finds out, you break up, and a week later you find out he's fuckin' dead. like WTF.
just a fictional scenario for us, a reality for Sylvia.
pony nearly died from water and johnny died from fire ts sick as hell
It's them!!!!!
Sodapop as a (greaser) girl!
I don’t know how the idea came to me, but what do you think? Felt like experimenting
I wouldn’t mind drawing her again...
Just to clarify: in this headcanon, Soda was born a girl and she’s the gang’s little darling
