okay so after longer time I have so much headcanons to share with you so bare with me this will be longer post
okay so Coulson gives them 3 rules for that night - 1. no hero suits 2. no powers and 3. have funā¦ he wants them to feel like normal teenagers at least for that one night (how sweet of him right)
most of the team doesnāt wanna go but also doesnāt want to be the only one not going
here is how the night goes for each one of them
Peter is mess, he shows up in thrifted suit and his everyday sneakers, but still manages to look great,ā¦ he decides to go there with MJ as āfriendsā they seems very close tho, Peter spends like first 5 minutes with team and then rest of the night he enjoy with MJ, they dance (Peter is very bad dancer lol), they talk, they have great time, later when Harry shows up he goes to him, talk and they FINALLY sort their stuff (their no talking stage ends here)ā¦ for moment Peter feels like nothing changed, like life is normal as it used to beā¦
Sam is hype boy with zero emotional regulation, he goes there without date, just to have fun and hang out with rest of the ultimates (he is with them for first 40 minutes), he pretends that he doesnāt care about looks but definitely flexes his outfit too hardā¦ he dances like no one is watching and crowd loves it, he even starts dance circle, rest of the team smiles while watching him at first bc they finally get to see this more wholesome part of Sam,ā¦ he gets into dumb argument with peter due to jealousy and ego for moment but Peter says āfuck it, I m sorry I donāt want to argue tonight, letās just enjoy itā and for first time Sam agreesā¦ also I think this is what makes them closer friends, he also spends some time with Peter, MJ and Harry but then decides to give them some spaceā¦ at the end of the night he sits down, really tired from all dancing and as he is catching breath he realizes that his jacket is missing and gone forever š¢ also after prom he is like school celebrity bc everyone will remember his dance moves
Ava is one who wouldnāt want to go but goes anyway bc she doesnāt want to be aloneā¦ tbh she would not be completely over Peter at that point so she is mentally not at very good placeā¦ but she looks gorgeous, she is like most beautiful person at promā¦ she decides to ask Danny to go there with her, bc she doesnāt wanna be there without partnerā¦ they go there as friends too ofcā¦ she spends lot of her night with Danny, Luke and Sam and at first they talk and have amazing time together, but then Ava notices Peter and MJ and it makes her bit sad but also someone makes thoughtless comment about her that that hits too close and this two things basically ruins her night, for rest of the night she just sits at the table and dissociatesā¦ also I forgot to mention that Harry is in his troublemaker era so he would secretly spike up drinks, and since Ava would just sit and drink half of the night she would end up bit too drunk at the end of the night without even realizingā¦ at the end of the night she gets into some stupid argument with person who made that mean comment about her earlier and then she storms outside
Danny would be so lost lol, he also doesnāt wanted to go but he was too scared to tell Ava no when she asked (or more like ordered) him to go with her, he doesnāt understand prom culture, he genuinely asks whatās ānormalā when Ava tells him just wear something normalā¦ same as Ava at first itās more fun for him, then when Ava basically shuts down it becomes so uncomfortable for him, at first when she sees Peter and MJ dancing she asks if Danny wants to dance too to which he answers āI donāt know how toā so like then they sit half hour in silence just watching rest of the people having fun, after observing for long enough he asks Ava if she still wants to danceā¦ she is already very upset so hits him with very mean āNOā and he immediately answers with āokayā and they continue to sit in silenceā¦ also when he tastes bit of the drinks he senses there is something off about it and he tries to tell Ava but she like doesnāt really care about itā¦Danny feels really out of place among ānormal teensā and has brief identity crisis, this night is bit of a nightmare for him
Luke doesnāt wanna go at first but since everyone is going he joins themā¦. He warns rest of the team to be careful and not use powers, but is the one who ends up them on accident (he breaks the table lol), but no one suspects himā¦ at first he spends time with Ava and Danny, then he feels the tension so is like hell nah, Iām not gonna just sit there in silence and decides to go and grab some food, in middle of way Sam spots him and tells him to chill out and have some fun, and hype him up to dance, they get both carried away ofc and this is the moment when Luke ends up breaking that tableā¦ Luke holds it so it wonāt fall and Sam runs to find something to support it so it wonāt fall (he ofc forgets to come back),ā¦ after while Luke is pissed and starts swearing a bit, when suddenly some girl lifts the table with her one hand and puts chair under it with other so the table wonāt fallā¦ later he talks to that girl (she goes to different high school but she was invited to this prom by her friends), they get to know each other, bond over their common powers, spend the rest of the night together, in the end she suddenly leaves without saying goodbye and Luke is bit sad bc he doesnāt even asked her what her name isā¦ that girl is ofc Jessica Jones
They are all teenagers after all and I wanted to show you at least little bit of everyoneās pov, to make you understand what and why everything went down that wayā¦ I think high school can be very messy and even tho you might be hero, your prom could become your worst nightmare or one of core memories
also I have much more about this which I didnāt write there, like Harryās and MJās pov, oc stuff ofc bc I love her sm so I know exactly how would her night go down, I have also like continuation of what would happened afterwards and so on, so on ,ā¦ but this post is so long so maybe I will just make 2nd part someday

y'know it's pretty gay how often peter's daydream cut scenes involve sam. even lets his own fightscene montage get interrupted by a memory of sam laughing
This post is a huge PSA for anyone writing X Reader content
You may not think this post applies to you, but it does.
There is a massive issue with inclusivity and assuming the audience. I have seen and personally experienced, time and time again, that me and many others feel as if we have no place in fandom. This specific part of it has to do with the majority of "x reader" content out there. It is all written for a cisgender (mostly heterosexual) white woman audience.
Now, cis white women getting content made for them is OBVIOUSLY not the issue here. People write for their personal interests, and there is nothing wrong with that. We all know this, and we all enjoy a fun story with our favorite characters centering around us.
The main issue here is the mentioned women not tagging their content properly, refusing to tag their content properly, straight up lying in the tags or not tagging things at all.
Trans men, nonbinary people, trans women, gay men, disabled people, fat people, intersex people and many people of color or non-american readers are constantly left out of fandom space and forgotten entirely. I've seen hundreds of complaints about it, and it needs to be spoken about more. While I'm on specifically talking about the fanfiction part of it, it is a VISIBLE issue in every fandom space you could possibly partake in. I don't even need to explain to you the rampant racism and transphobia in the cosplay community.
And the fix is extremely easy! TAG YOUR THINGS PROPERLY. It is the easiest, simplest form of allyship one could do for the community, and it goes miles. However, a lot of you seem to not understand how to, even if your heart is in the right place.
How to tag your fanfiction for the general audience:
- Specify the gender of the reader. This goes MUCH farther than just what pronouns are used. I've read WAY too many fanfics that tell me it is gender neutral, only to be hit with nicknames like "princess", or to be told the intended reader loves dresses and wears a bra.
- In tags or a prior description, mention every nickname used for the reader and every possibly gendered descriptor. It's really not difficult, and doesn't take too long.
- If necessary, mention what style of clothes the reader is specified to wear. And if this applies as well, specify any highlighted personality traits you gave the reader.
- Specify the body of the reader. This also goes much farther than gender. "Afab" and "amab" don't exactly cut it. Many people are triggered by certain words connected to genitals, so specify what words are used for those as well! Also, if you are trying to write a gender neutral body, PLEASE specify whether it is entirely gender neutral or something is implied. Many say it is gender neutral, and then explain how the reader's body self lubricates, or even has a clitoris. Please do better than that.
- For the love of God, do not automatically feminize the "GN afab" reader you wrote without a warning, and PLEASE MENTION if breasts are even spoken of, let alone used for smut reasons. And do NOT refer to someone's body as having "fem" or "male" genitalia. just say vagina or penis, please.
- Specify what body type you had in mind. Many fat or even slightly chubby individuals need to look for fanfiction that specifically caters to them, because "neutral body reader" writers, tend to not make it neutral. If you have any specifics on whatever you have written for the body mentioned, do tag it!
- Specify what sort of skin tone or hair texture is mentioned, if at all. Many POC complain that they read neutral fiction just to find straight hair, pale skin, light eyes, and blushing faces to be mentioned. If any color of the body is mentioned at all, or anything is implied, do say so! This also can go for specific things you may not think about, like how long it takes hair to dry, how easy it is to brush, hairstyles and other things of the sort.
It may seem like a bit of a list, but this is really the LEAST you can do for your community. We are consistently forgotten and ignored anywhere we go, and the simple things like this truly mean a lot.
- If there is an implied location, or anything to imply a place of origin, it's best to be on the safe side and mention that if it feels important.
- Please tag if you put the reader through, or mention a past traumatic event. Casually putting the reader character through things like an abusive ex, abusive parents, bad home or work life, or something like a car accident can be highly triggering. tag your scenes thoroughly! This also applies to putting the reader insert through something like sexist comments, unwanted touching of any kind, and similarly negative situations.
I cannot tell you the amount of times I've turned to fanfiction as an outlet and an escape, as many others have, just to be jumpscared by my favorite characters misgendering me. It's truly a miserable experience knowing no place is actually welcoming to me, or in the very least accommodating for people who aren't like them. This post is NOT meant to shame or send harassment to those who are forgetful, but ignorance is never a good thing to uphold. No one is asking you to write for an audience you don't want to, we just want to KNOW who you are writing for. Assuming an entire space is all one demographic is never, ever a good thing.
If you need help writing for a demographic you don't fully understand, just ask people who are a part of it how they would! Look at how other writers write and tag their content, and listen to anyone if they have necessary critiques. I wish you all happy writing! :]

actually ok real talk usm did sam DIRTY!!! there r so many opportunities to explore his character and how he acts as a person and instead they take rhe opportunity to spin it into a comic relief !! thatās not to say i hate usm sam because i Donāt i draw him 90% of the time and i think heās such a little goober HOWEEVR i think how they did him is sick and twisted and reminds me a LOT of 2020ās champions, because they made the choice to turn him into a goofy idiot rather then a guy who actually cares about his friends. thank god they didnāt go THAT far in usm, he still cares about his team, and he gets more bearable in late s1-s2 butā¦
also it was criminal how as a nova enjoyer the writers decided to get lazy and chop him out along with most of the other ultimates for the excuse of madam web and space stuff. like it Makes Sense but also like if he was there during hydra island he would have totally fucking obliterated it ??????? and the writers didnāt want him to destroy another ship i Guess

This fanfic is a direct insert into the twenty second episode of the second season āThe Howling Commandosā. The story is set with some of the episode preluding the fic and then ends designed to be resumed into the same flow and plot of the episode. I personally recommend watching the episode until 13:22, reading the first work, skipping to 13:25 (yes I know it's only three seconds) and watching the episode to completion.
