since school is coming up really soon for me - and most people too- I thought I would make a guide to surviving school to help us all out. enjoy!
give yourself a pep talk a bit before you get back to school to make sure that you have the right mindset.
you need to find the right balance between optimism and pessimism, and be realistic with your expectations and your goals for the upcoming school year.
this will give you a good idea on what you’re going to take in the school year, and will give you a slight head start.
- before you go back to school, make sure to test out a couple of different studying techniques, note taking techniques, etc. and find the ones that help you retain information better.
that includes your room, your study space and your mental space.
get rid of everything you don’t need and organize everything you do. it will help with stress and concentration.

and i do mean everything!
- always have your schedule at hand’s reach.
- invest in a good planner, bullet journal, agenda, whatever
- and write everything down.
figure what things are more important than others and plan accordingly.
- list all the things you have to do and sort them according to their importance and urgency.
do not overextend yourself.
pushing yourself every now and then is fine but don’t over do it to the point where you can’t do something you enjoy like drawing or reading. it will only increase your stress levels and make your mental state worse.

stress during the school year is inevitable, and we may come across it more than once. it happens to everyone and you will get through it. don’t worry about it!
think about what’s making you stressed and figure out why it’s stressing you out. think about the possible resolutions to your problem. and fix it. it’s okay if it takes time. don’t lose hope!
drink water. take a shower. meditate. make a smoothie. exercise. watch funny videos. do whatever makes you feel better.
it’s time to pick yourself back up and get right back to work. motivate yourself to to do better. and remember: you should never feel guilty for being stressed, your mental health is important and shouldn’t be taken for granted.
ok so i’m going to admit that i don’t really have any original tips when it comes to studying, and so instead of trying to pretend like i have any study tips i’m going to link some really cool posts with a v wide variety of studying/note taking tips, etc.
