So many people hate their own body so much and are so casually fatphobia toward themself and the thing is, when you're not, when you've healed yourself enough that you can look at yourself and say "my body is just a body that does body things" it becomes nearly impossible to be around people who openly hate their bodies. It feels like they're flinging their muck all over you, and you gotta shake yourself out so it doesn't stick. And misery really does love company. They'll talk about how fat they are and how they can't eat this or that or wear certain clothes or cut their hair short, and they want you to lament with them. And you gotta not, okay? You gotta not. You gotta walk away from that shit.
And you HAVE to pay attention to the things you say about your own body in front of other people, lest you become the person flinging your muck onto others.
this is actually where it becomes incredibly difficult for disabled transgender people. if your disability means you cannot live alone, that you must have care, and you rely on other people for survival - transitioning can become a pipe dream. sometimes it's "live with your transphobic family or die". sometimes disabled people aren't given the autonomy to express themselves by their caregivers and have no way on asserting their gender. if someone helps you put on your clothes and they decide you can only wear one kind there's no choice in the matter. if you need disability aids to communicate with people or have a condition that impairs your communication ability then you can't just come out and transition. you don't get to say "i'll ignore you if you call me by the wrong name" because you can't afford for them to ignore you, nevermind the other way around. gender affirming care is often acknowledged as live saving healthcare. and disability support is also life saving healthcare. and transgender disabled people can't afford to just pick one or the other.

âď¸ happy pride month turns out I Saw The TV Glow is free to watch on youtube and has been for at least three months now and i did not know until just now
i need to get gender affirming surgery
Had a dream I found a seven fingered mummified baby hand in storage and was trying like hell to give it away. Woke up with my blanket pulled over my face and a headache. Near death experience?
a lot of people on here are apparently seething, foaming at the mouth, champing at the bit to apply transphobic tropes to cis people who use hrt.
a cis woman using t to attain bottom growth has not done anything to harm you. a postmenopausal cis woman taking t for libido has no harmed you. if you talk about it as being disgusting and degenerate, you're just echoing the transphobic ideas that are normally leveraged against trans people. Why do you think this is the right thing to do?
I think a lot of trans people on here don't seem to have done any work to throw away underlying transphobic beliefs about the world. Instead, they've affixed that trans ness is a justifying excuse that gives them and the right type of trans people special allowances to do something that genuinely would otherwise be wrong and disgusting and degenerate.
That's bullshit. Everyone should be allowed full bodily autonomyâyes, including cis people. If you are disgusted and angry that someone is exercising that autonomy in a way you find frivolous or degenerately sexual, that's really genuinely a sign you should take a step back and reexamine whether you've got some leftover trash cluttering up your brain. Might be worth doing some spring cleaning.
this is what I mean about how right now in the united states (won't speak for elsewhere but feel free to lmk in the notes if you'd like) a lot of us trans adults who are able to access transition care can only do so at the direct expense of trans minors. this clinic would not have opened if they held the line and offered equal access to healthcare to trans minors.
"Martin announced the direct-care clinic, calling it âone of the first times a public health department has ever taken that step.â But when CabĂĄn pushed back, pointing out that trans youth are the ones most under attack right nowânoting that there are âalmost no providersâ left for youth the entire cityâMartin indicated the clinic would not serve youth, citing the need to âstrike a balanceâ between providing care and avoiding âclawbacks from the federal government.â This morning, EITM can directly confirm that the age cutoff is 19âmatching the Trump administrationâs executive order threshold, not the standard legal age of adulthood in New York."
a lot of the structural transphobia we are experiencing is hitting minors even worse. their care gets banned first. if you want a preview of what access to healthcare will look like for us trans adults in 2 years, look at what access looks like for legal minors right now.
please have the compassion to show them solidarity now. do for them what you hope a cis person will do for us. like at the very least, talk about it.
Similar moves in the UK (don't know why that doesn't have a proper link preview, interesting choice Tumblr!!):
https://transactual.org.uk/blog/2026/03/12/the-nhs-has-paused-new-prescriptions-of-gender-affirming-hormones-for-under-18s/
The NHS has entirely stopped prescribing HRT for under-18s based on a "review" that discounted 97% of the evidence, and immediately after making this decision said they'd launch a similar "review" into the effectiveness of HRT for adults.
We need to standardize clothing sizes. This is fucking stupid. Pass a federal law or something. Iâm sick of this shit.
If only there was a way to associate a physical length with a number. Like, maybe we could put marks on a long piece of tape or something, evenly spaced, and then you could, like, count how many marks long something is?
I'm probably not making any sense, this is a dumb idea, sorry (/s)
you want to measure how many âmarksâ long something is? Sounds communist, itâll never work
itâs genuinely fucking absurd that cis people have any goddamn say at all on trans healthcare
âoh yeah i mean im not diabetic but i dont really know how insulin works and i think its kinda freaky that you gotta poke your finger all the time so im gonna go ahead and say insulin is illegalâ
thats how it sounds.

My highly specific doubts around trying HRT
Tbh Iâve been passively identifying as nonbinary for like 10 years and never got around to pursuing hrt, mostly for fear of social stigma. But. This is where my situation becomes very specific. Hypermobility symptoms are currently absolutely ruining my life. Physical therapy (the only proven treatment) barely helped. But then I found a few Reddit anecdotes that some hypermobile trans men experienced a reduction in symptoms on T.
I could only find one (1) study on hypermobility in trans people and the abstract (full article is paywalled) states HRT did not effect prevalence of hypermobility diagnosis. So i have no scientifically verified evidence, just speculation that since muscle strength protects joints, and testosterone promotes muscle growth⌠plus hypermobility is much more common for cis women than cis men. So I think itâs plausible.
Iâve become convinced that this is my best shot towards making my symptoms manageable. But Iâm pretty sure I canât ask my doc to give me T based on a hunch. So logically I should leverage my gender identity for gender-affirming care?
But everyone already knows, including my dr, that my biggest concern is hypermobility and I am at my absolute wits end. Won't they perceive my impure intent in seeking HRT.
Well maybe you're having an "epidemic of mental illness" because your society sucks and systematically breaks people did you ever think about that
not even two years after the 2024 racist riots and attempted pogroms, we are back to more racist riots and attempted pogroms.
a mosque in scotland had to be put into lockdown. they are going door-to-door with hit lists and addresses in northern ireland, setting houses alight. they firebombed an imam's house in manchester. people of colour are being targeted and attacked by racist mobs in the street in broad daylight.
and instead of widespread condemnation or wall-to-wall coverage, the UK media and political establishment is filling air time talking about the "legitimate concerns" people have about "illegal migrants"
The Qanon people absolutely won the culture war, by the way, and all of you deeply impressionable yankees helped them win.
Just as how Satanic Panic of the late 20th century was actually about women entering the workplace and the evils of the Daycare that allow the women to be able to work hidden behind the rhetoric of Protecting the Children, the "Kill a Pedophile" branch of Qanon (by far the most popular) has been about rallying against sexual minorities in public spaces hideen behind the rhetoric of Protecting the Children.
It is a deeply reactionary current of yankee culture and every single one of you that participated in demeaning LGBT+ ppl being visible in public spaces or Protecting the Children from Travis Scott/Balenciaga/Wayfaire helped it penetrate the mainstream. This is true for unquestioningly pushing around whisper campaigns targeting LGBT+ people, especially trans women who are targeted disproportionately by these people. Every time you participate in pedojacketing a trans woman, you're essentially just your reactionary parents banning D&D from public library that you've sworn you'll never become, but with pride flag patch on your denim jacket this time.
can't believe we've all been here since we were 14 and now we're all 20000 years old
