i wasn't here around haylor, was it really bad?

yeah, it really, really was. you know how during these recent stunts, h&l still jump around stage and smile and generally look happy? during haylor, they both looked absolutely miserable 24/7, and it was one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever seen. I remember on New Year’s Eve 2012, Taylor was in NYC for the ball drop at midnight… everyone was like, where’s Harry?? is he not gonna show up?? at the last minute, he appears in the middle of the crowd looking like a zombie, doesn’t even smile a little bit when she awkwardly kisses him, then he’s gone again.

later that night tumblr/twitter was flooded with nasty comments about him, people saying that he ruined their New Years, that they were leaving the fandom, that they hated him. as if it was his fault?? (even if it had been legit, that’s still a horrible thing to say, but he already looked so sad they just made it worse). and then we got months of this…

do they look happy to you? I’ve never seen them look more defeated than they did during that time… but then, things started to get better. they started getting tattoos. that’s why I hate it when people try to make their tattoos out to be a coincidence, because they mean so much. it was the only way they could show their commitment out loud, for everyone to see, and it was working. they looked happier, you could tell they were getting stronger, and more and more people started rooting for them… now look where we are. that’s why I don’t stress too much about babygate or anything else that’s been happening lately, because shitty as it may be, I know there’s an endgame, and I know that if the boys are smiling, everything is okay. if you can take it, you can make it. won’t stop to surrender. keep moving forward. pretty much every cliche quote you can think of applies to them, because they’ve been through hell and back, which we’ve been here to witness. so, yeah, haylor was bad. babygate is bad too. but it all comes out in the wash.
