Well, that's not the Tumblr account I meant to log into!
I think a lot of us in fandom can agree on one thing: f/f doesn’t get enough love. So for the next month, let’s try to do something about it.
I pledge to focus my creative energies on ships between women for the month of February. While m/m and m/f shipping is great, let’s make this month all about the ladies.
I will make two fanworks—or more!—devoted to a lady ship. I’ll use my creative power to increase the number of f/f fanworks out there and the awareness of these awesome ships. And I hope you’ll join me in this.
How to participate?
Reblog this post!
If you’re a fanwork creator—whether a fic writer, a fanartist, a graphic maker, or something else (fanmixes, podfic, cosplay, anything goes!): decide to focus on f/f for the month. Make (at least!) two fanworks for f/f pairings throughout the month. Tag them #femslash february.
Whether you’re a creator or not: signal boost the shit out of this! Track the #femslash february tag! Show your love for the awesome works that are sure to come out of this!
Have questions? Just excited? Put it in the #femslash february tag or come talk to me, soaringrachel!
Let’s get creating!
Something Clever: Femslash February!
(( For the record, I have an open call for femslash prompts on my main/personal blog for the month of February, and I’m going to be writing quite a bit, hopefully. If you have any ideas you want to see, DA or otherwise (Mass Effect, Elder Scrolls, Avatar: TLA and LoK), send me an ask over there (or here’s fine, but I’ll be posting them there), and I’ll write a short fic for it! ))
Femslash February preparation! (You should tell me what to write!)
Ohhi. I’ve been kinda quiet lately because I’ve been at work way too much and on my Morrigan RPs the rest of the time, but I’m going to take a leaf out of missl0nelyhearts’ book and do some serious femslashing next month.
Or that’s the plan, anyway. You can help by sending me prompts! I will write general hijinks, fluff, angst, porn… you name it. Only rule is that it has to be for female characters from a fandom I know. Best options are Dragon Age, Mass Effect, and Elder Scrolls, but anything else I post about is fair game, up to and including Labyrinth (if you’ve read Talespinner, you know why this is relevant).
I’m guessing I won’t get very many prompts, and if I’m right about that, I’ll answer them all. If you folks surprise me by flooding my inbox, I’ll do as many as I can in the month of February and then pull the others out as I want inspiration until they’re done.
<3
((Reblogging from my main account because I know some people follow me here that don't follow there - if you want to send me a prompt, toss it here!))

Morrigan - The Witch of the Wilds by *theDURRRRIAN
Of blood mages, shapeshifters, and other oddities
Following Merrill’s lead, Morrigan pulled her cloak about her, not especially looking forward to the prospect of being within the city itself. Her comfort did not matter, though; there were far more important concerns involved. Far more interesting ones.
“I have never found the concepts of ‘good’ and ‘evil’ to be particularly useful, myself,” she mused as they walked. ”Everyone wants something, no matter their intentions. Once you know what that is and what they are willing to do to get it, you know how to deal with them, and how dangerous they are to you.”
Merrill nodded in agreement, frowning slightly as she concentrated on where they were going, not wanting to get lost and make Morrigan annoyed.
“Anyone can be corrupted. I worry sometimes, if I’ve done things the right way. But worrying makes me think I’m doing okay, because if I wasn’t I wouldn’t worry, I’d just do it, wouldn’t I?”
Much as usual, Morrigan did not know what to make of that sort of answer. She had heard similar things before, of course, but it was from people like Alistair or Leliana, who had never made much sense to her in any way whatsoever. Feeling conflicted was an experience she detested, and it only ever happened when sentiment was attempting to get in the way of the practical course of action - certainly never out of some abstract need to be 'good.'
Corruption, she understood - it was the perversion of one's purpose and resolve, and it resulted in working against one's own former goals. But she always paid attention to how her goals shifted and developed, so there was never anything to worry about. She would know if she was changing in an unacceptable manner.
"What is this 'right way'?" she asked curiously.

She nodded, satisfied that nothing ridiculously foolish was going on. If Merrill had been working on the Eluvian long enough to have put it back together, she would have dealt with the spirit for quite some time as well. If it had not gotten to her yet, she was most likely capable of handling it.
“I see. You are wise to keep your suspicions about you. Will you show me this repaired Eluvian of yours, then?”
“It would be silly not to, I know spirits aren’t just good and evil - there’s so many that seem one but are actually the other. To trust him would be foolish.”
Merrill looked incredibly happy at being asked.
“You’d like to see it? I keep it in my house.” Merrill started to lead the way, full of excitement at the prospect of someone who had seen a working Eluvian looking over her handiwork.

The World of Dragon Age is on the brink of collapse, and when a desperate gathering in the name of peace becomes the epicenter of a magical blast that decimates the Chantry’s leadership, it becomes clear that someone or something is manipulating events to drive the world to chaos.
okay i’m gonna call it now
i will bet you that flemeth is the main antagonist
(( I figured she would be eventually after what Morrigan said in Witch Hunt. Though it'd be a shame... I think I prefer her as an ambiguous, somewhat scary ally.))

Morrigan’s curiosity was sharply tempered by a healthy dose of caution. Spirit? She’d come into contact with enough possessed mages to be reasonably sure that Merrill was not one, but this made things… potentially more complicated.
“What is this spirit, who can tell you things about an Eluvian?” she asked carefully.
“I don’t really know.” Merrill admitted. “He’s trapped. Held captive in Sundermount. I know better than to trust him completely, but he’s been useful so far. Don’t worry, I’m not going to set him free, no matter how much he wants to be. I know he can tell me good and useful things but still take advantage of me if I don’t stay cautious.”

“It is, it was Blighted but I cleansed it.” Merrill didn’t notice that she’d just admitted to cleansing it rather than speaking of it less personally as she’d tried to before - she was far too excited to watch her words. “I don’t know if it needs more done to it before it can be activated though. I’ve had to guess at a lot of it and I’ve been working on my own, and work out what things the spirit told me that I could trust and what I couldn’t.”

A raven landed in Lowtown... (@ foreignprotector)
So she was—… She was the Morrigan Hawke assumed her to be. There was no mistaking it now, though the duelist made no available movement expressing her astonishment. Whatever lead her here to Kirkwall to search Hawke out for, she couldn’t place her finger upon. She had a way of sticking her nose into things, yes, but she was absolutely certain that Hawke was the right person for this kind of thing? She wouldn’t question the other’s train of thought as she seemed to be a creature of logic, and instead sat back and listened.
“I have, yes.” She responded simply, arms lifting to settle on top of the table as she leaned in comfortably. The rogue’s shoulders rose as her body casually slumped against the side of the table, bright eyes pinned upon the other’s face. Her main concerns remained with the fate of innocents that might be affected by the release of such information. Granted, what Morrigan chose to do with it was beyond Hawke’s control, though she knew where that kind of mentality lead her, and it was right back to the clash of the magi and the Templars on the Keep’s doorstep with an explosion of Chantry fireworks just for flare. In the end, it would be her fault. It always was.
“Your mother?” She asked, relaying what she could remember of the conversation she held with Flemeth those years ago. Her words of wisdom stuck with her the most, though now that Morrigan had been seated before her, hazy memories rose to surface like uncovered, trapped bubble of air. With the way she was speaking though, it sounded like the famed Witch of the Wilds was more of an enemy than a parent, as mentioned offhand, but nonetheless.
It was slightly surprising that Hawke knew or guessed that, but Morrigan supposed that if there was a logic trail to follow or an offhand comment to remember, by her reputation, Hawke would have done so. "Yes, that is correct."
How to explain? So much of Morrigan's reason for coming here was built on a hair-thin web of happenstance, history, and guesswork that even she sometimes doubted it would go anywhere... and she was not normally prone to doubting her abilities to find anything out. She supposed that under some circumstances, sounding like a madwoman might make her seem less of a threat, but in this case it was far more likely to make her simply sound disingenuous.
She sighed almost imperceptibly and drew breath to speak, her fingers tracing idle patterns on the rim of her half-forgotten cup. "Over the last several years, I have had reason to believe she wished me harm, then contradicting information, then... I am still uncertain. I believe some of her magic, if not many other things about her, has roots in the Imperium, and I seek the knowledge to protect myself from her if need be." Morrigan paused, considering. The other woman understood curiosity, and she certainly had plenty of that... "And to an extent, I simply wish to know. In all the years I lived with her, she spoke little of her own history, or the parts of the world's that she affected. 'Tis... most aggravating."
She waved a hand irritably. "It may well be that there is nothing of value to be found, but that is what one risks in chasing wisps of tales and nightmares."
