Notes:

Having been kidnapped by the evil forces of the USSR more than once, I feel like Rick could have picked up the word "soldier," which is a cognate in English. But he is still monolingual at this time.

Rick's vision of exploded Bucky wearing his costume is historically inaccurate, but i think that's what he would assume Bucky was wearing when he died (and also think it's safe to assume that there was more than one copy of the Bucky suit). Rick also imagines Bucky with combed hair.

On Bucky speaking six languages, I know he at least speaks English, German, Russian, and French during WWII. I think there’s more… and I like six because it reminds me of the song from Spelling Bee, also about a seemingly perfect child.

Remember this happened! but Steve kind of extremely waffles on letting Rick do Bucky stuff, including after this interaction.

btw thank you to whoever reblogged Rick Gets Kidnapped by a Soviet Agent recently and said nice things about it. i paused making it at a good stopping point (which was about halfway through) bc i got busy with finals, but i did have the story fully scripted and now i'm going to actually finish it. there's like 10 more pages. #yay
