How to induce sleep paralysis for Void State & Shifting? by Hélèn.
((read this until the end. im not gonna answer desperate cryings from the asks cuz this is the MOST detailed SP post of mine. 🙂🥱))
hey Ladies & Gentlemen. Today im presenting to uou; how to induce sleep paralysis 100% foolproof method (sounds just like a telecommerical lmao) from a certified insomniac. (im awake for so long that i legit started to see furnitures moving) This actually wanted by an anon from my ask but to the guy/girl who sent me that..uh..i accidentally deleted your ask but donr you worry, youre looking at what youve asked for! So yeah long story short, these are foolproof CAUSE youre actually using your BIOCHEMISTRY as a pretty little human being and learn why these work. Let me introduce you to a few new terms, if youre unfamiliar with sleep cycles, sleep hormones, and othe biologic mechanisms. ive done my search well, as always. 😩😮💨😽🫦
First of all, theres something called a ''REM debt''. So you might ask me, ''Helene, tf is a rem?'' well, it stands for ''Rapid Eye Movement.'' Aka, a stage of sleep. It's the stage of sleep where ur eyes move rapidly, even when closed, and the brain is most active. You experience almost all of ur dreams during this stage. The brain processes, organizes, and stores info you learnt during the day in this phase. Etc etc. so for short, its what we call a regular sleep where you see ur dreams. Alright lets move onto the Rem debt again, its simple. Means you should get at least 2-3 hours of night sleep. Without WBTB, triggering this requires sliiiightly disrupting the brain and body's biochemical balance, particularly the melatonin and cortisol cycle. cuz u have to release these hormones.
Actually yeah, u can trigger this night time aka the first REM (not deep sleep, the actual dreaming phase) and it has a few ways. Firs lay down on a starfish (supine) position, and if u ask me why is ts position particularly? Pretty scientific. When u lie on your back, ur tongue is more likely to fall back, which can slightly hinder breathing. Your big beautiful brain perceives this slight shortness of breath as a "threat" and tries to wake you up suddenly. However, cuz ur body is in deep REM sleep, ur muscles remain locked, and you suddenly wake up in sleep paralysis. Et voilà. Also..the position might not be enough so..u should consider disrupting ur ''Circadian Rhythm'' and provide excessive fatigue.
The thing that leaves ur brain most helpless is the clash between ur excessively tired body and your overactive mind. Ruin your sleep schedule (worth it), sleeping very little during the week,, sleeping until noon on weekends, or constantly changing sleep schedules, etc etc, disrupts your circadian rhythm (aka what we call our biological clock). AND, when your bodys physically exhausted, ur brain may want to jump directly to the deepest stages or directly to REM the moment you lie down in bed (aka, ''REM rebound effect''). If your mind dosent completely shut down while the body locks up quickly, you may experience (hypnagogique) paralysis at the moment of falling asleep. These help you induce natural sleep paralysis 100%!!!!!
Aaaand the popular WILD technique yall probably heard of before. Ts is actually the first stage of the WILD (wake initiated lucid dream) technique, used to directly transition into lucid dreaming. The goal is to observe ur body falling asleep without ever losing consciousness. such a challange rigth? Lie on ur back, it's basically just keeping your body completely still while waiting for sleep to come. Focus on the shapes behind your eyelids or keep a steady rhythm in your mind (or count your breaths omg idk it works). Before falling asleep, ur body performs a "heyyy dude, are we awake?" test. Your nose may itch, you may feel the urge to swallow, or you may feel the urge to change position. You must completelyyyyy ignore all these urges and not move at all. If you do it, your body will fall asleep and lock the muscles, but your consciousness will remain awake. (GOLD STATEEEE)
i actually recommend staying up until the morning cuz like i said..YOUR REM DEBT!! you actually NEED that REM debt, but tyr not to go completely zombie. (i feel like a zomb rn) If u lack too much of sleep, your brain might force you into deep non REM sleep first to heal ur body, which we DONT want. We want that sweet lil REM Rebound state right away! (where lucid dreams and most of my shifting experiences happenned naturally) Your bodys biological clock releases melatonin in the evenings and cortisol (the wakey wakeyyyy / stress hormone) in the early mornings. The moments when these two hormones overlap are the most fertile ground for sleep paralysis.
tHATS EXACTLY WHY daytime naps could be IT! Its much easier to trigger sleep paralysis during a 30-45min nap in the afternoon (between like.. 2 to 4pm) or late afternoon, rather than at night. Cuz again, during the day, your cortisol and alertness levels are already high (its easy for the mind to stay awake), but ur body, exhausted from lack of sleep, quickly switches to sleep mode. While the mind says, "dawg i need to stay hormonally awake during the day," the body says, "no im leaving," and sleep paralysis occurs.
now, lastly. Its also a clever but a tad risky (guarantee sleep paralysis) ''method'': There are certain foods and habits that directly affect ur body chemistry and sharpen REM sleep....hell yeah..Heavy and carbohydrate /tryptophhan rich dinners. Eating something heavy, carbohydrate rich, or containing tryptophan (like bananas, dairy, turkey etc etc) 1,5-2hrs before bed creates a sudden sleep pressure. This quickly pulls your body down, making it difficult for the brain to truly fall into a deep and peaceful sleep because the digestive system is working. (evil laugh) Caffeine timing is also essential, folks, consuming it apprx 1,5-2hrs before bedtime makes it ''not fully eliminated from the body'' when u go to bed. Youre caught on that fine line between caffeine trying to keep ur mind awake and blocking adenosine receptors, and physical fatigue taking over and locking up your body.
Hope I didn't write any nonsense I'm dying out of sleeplessness and 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗵. 𝗶 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵. 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗺𝗲 𝟮+𝗵𝗿𝘀. 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘆𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺. 𝗺𝗮𝗺𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱🫰🏻🫰🏻

i am not a buddhist nor a Hindu myself. I am a practicing Orthodox Christian. But when it comes to searching for shifting /loa /manifesting /spiritualism? i'll take whatever i can find. Now look, these ancient teachings don't have a magic wand that says "lets just jump in there" ,but they do have a pretty powerful "shortcuts" that will instantly plunge the mind into that void. Specifically, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, the esoteric branch of Hinduism, offers 112 different methods for instantly stopping the mind and pushing it into that void.
First of all, ''the space between two breathes'' (Kumbhaka) In buddhism and hinduism, the greatest secret is that microscopic moment when one breath ends but another doesn't begin. That moment is when you disconnect from this world. And yeah it has an easy way.. breathe in, breathe out. Stop at the exact second u exhale. Focus on the silence that occurs when your lungs are empty. That void is actually your shifting gateway. The longer you prolong those seconds, the more your physical body begins to fade away. And oh, also, be careful and start SLOW. Cause If u do it incorrectly or forcefully, you may experience dizziness, stress, or even fainting...
Second thing ive found is.. "Neither this nor that" (Advaita Vedanta) That is the fastest way to eliminate the mind (the logical left lobe of ur brain). In shifting, every time you say, "i am this, i am here," you are anchored to that reality. Lie down in bed and say to everything that crosses your mind that; Is your body tingling? "nope that's not me." or did you hear a sound? "that's not me." did a thought come to ur mind? "that's not me." Basically reject everything until nothing remains. That remaining pure "awareness" is the void itself... What remains? According to Vedanta, the unchanging, observing pure awareness. That is, the inner, "observing thing." They call it Atman, and surprisingly, it is said to be the same as Brahman. So, individual self = universal reality. Non duality? it's easy to understand, but quite difficult to live with. cause the mind is constantly addicted to labeling itself, saying "this is who i am, this is what i am." it's like stripping the mind bare, leaving it completely exposed. You shed layers upon layers. And the human ego doesn't exactly love that, mind you...
Now ''Dharana'', think of the discipline of The Hierophant card. Instead of dividin the mind into a thousand pieces, confining it to a single point allows reality to break...Close your eyes and focus only on that point between your eyebrows, aka the 3rd eye, or just a single white spot in your mind. Think of nothing else. After a while, the mind will give a "system error" and throw you back into that single point, into the void. Dharana, in yoga, means concentration. But not at the level of "alrigh i put my phone down and focused for 5 minutes." It means literally fixing your mind on a single object. Thr rule is lowkey simple.. If the mind wanders, u bring it back. If it wanders again, you bring it back again. ''Dharana'' focus, ''Dhyana'' uninterrupted flow, meditation; ''Samadhi'' complete union, dissolution of the sense of "self"....
The easiest way to do this is actually to "stop searching." Theres a saying in buddhism that "as long as you keep searching, you won't find, because the seeker is what she seeks." You think shifting is about going somewhere "out there," but these teachings say, "Youre already everywhere, you just choose to focus on this body." Stop "trying to go." Try relinquishing this reality as if you were already there. By releasing the energy of the 4 Pentacles aka the holding on energy, and 9 Wands, in your cards, and simply "being" like The Sun, that door will open by itself.
i cracked the code. oh my god. i’m literally typing this at like 1am pls!!
i can’t even count how many times i’ve given in to the small moments of comfort from this reality, making me procrastinate shifting. not by choice, but subconsciously. because whether it’s something that is going to happen in the next few days, weeks, or even months (!!) i always find myself prioritizing those over shifting to my new reality. even if they’re the smallest things ever.
such as watching this new animated stranger things show next week. because somehow, my ego wants me to stay for another week to watch that. no bitch! that shit is happening in my new reality as well. and i’m not lying when i say that the idea of solving my sudoku almost sounded more appealing than being in my new reality… get out…….
my point is. whenever i prioritize these small moments, it’s only because my ego wants me to stay in the comfort of this reality. not because my life is cupcakes and rainbows, but because it’s familiar. it’s like my ego whispers “don’t you want to experience this.. it sounds pretty nice, right.. you can wait a little bit longer..” even if staying here isn’t something i want.
so that’s exactly what i’m going to remind myself, that this feeling of comfort isn’t coming from me. i simply shouldn’t fall for it, because it’s a trap by my ego. if i keep listening to it, i will honestly be here forever lol, because there will always be moments in my life here that are going to sound appealing, but that doesn’t make my new reality less important. ‹𝟹

Some advice or something
Imagine a little baby is born. This child is human in every way a human can be human. But from the start of their life, they're told, ''You're a robot, you don't have real feelings, you were built to serve society.''
So this baby grows up not thinking they're human, they play their role in society, and don't learn how to trust or even acknowledge their real feelings.
But my question, my little sprouts, does this make them any less human? Is this child that has grown up convinced they're something they're not, any less human than someone else?
You, as a shifter, have grown up in a society that forces you to act certain ways, to feel certain ways, to be the person they want you to be. But no matter how deeply rooted those feelings are, no matter how strongly you feel like you have to fit into that certain box, you still are, at your roots, an awareness. Nothing will ever change that.
Your purpose in existing is to shift, to experience things, to be. And a life can affect you very deeply, it can shape you even. But it will never take away your core. You are not this life, you are not this experience, you are not even this body or mind. You might be aware of it, yes, but that does not mean that you are stuck to it.
It's important to separate yourself from the role you play here. You can absolutely love this life, you can be so invested in it, and deeply care for your self, or the people here, but to know that you can be yourself here, and someone else in another place? It helps you realise that this life only gets the meaning you give to it.
This life here felt like a hurricane until I started seeing it for what it was. Just an experience, a chapter, a choice. I promise you, shifting will give you so much freedom and control. Life doesn't feel as heavy if you can decide where to go, and when to leave💚
You can shift whenever you want!
You can shift just because you’re hungry and there’s no food at home that you like
You can shift just because you’re sad here, and you just finished crying and want to get out of your mess
You can shift just because you’re angry, because this reality is pissing you off so much you should just leave elsewhere
You can shift just because you’re extremely bored, you could be doing so many fun things in any other reality
You can shift just because you realized that you can. It’s called using your free will.
You can shift just because there’s no school tomorrow, so you can do whatever you want and it can be the craziest shit ever bc ure in ur DR
You can shift just because there IS school tomorrow, and you don’t want to sit in class all day at the place you most hate.
You can shift just because there is nothing else to do
You can shift just because you miss your DR
You can shift just because you hate the bitches on here. Tonight I shifted because I was so pissed at the empathy-deprived scumbags on Reddit fucking assholes
You can shift just because you CAN!!!
You can shift because you CAN!!!
You can shift, you CAN!!!
You shift can!!!

(i) ⋆ how to "actually use" awake methods.
it's simple.
i've recently been doing research on why awake methods seem to be "ineffective" for me and using tarot cards to get deeper personal insight on what i should do differently and instead i ended up exploring a rabbit hole on spirituality and meditation.
i feel that maybe this resonates for many people and could be really helpful in allowing yourself to successfully shift; during awake methods sometimes you may be deep into your attempt and suddenly get a gut feeling that "nothing is working" or even a sudden deep urge to open your eyes and confirm that "you're still here", the best way i could describe this is as for example: i may be affirming that i am present in my intended reality constantly and within a good amount of minutes of doing so my thoughts will strongly waver towards disproving that and completely counterarguing it, trying desperately to remind me that i am still in my cr or that i should open my eyes. a sort of huge wave of disappointment.
this is whole experience in meditation is named by many different terminologies in the spiritual community such as: "the ego self" or in other words "the guardian" (rudolf steiner’s esoteric teachings) and it refers to your engrained beliefs that you learn based off of your experiences in this original reality, it's an attempt for your consciousness to make logical sense of the sudden loss of control and the shift that is beginning to take place.
⋆𝜗𝜚 ࣪⊹ here's a diagram from meditation teachings that show the different phases:
(i'll probably go into more depth on this diagram on another post) !
it means that you are actually approaching and are close to shifting or if anything your "attempt" is working so deeply that as a result you're threatening your own beliefs of what physical reality is, who and where you are so much so that you've awaken or encountered (3.4.3) your "ego", a self defense to make sense of everything. you're rewriting your identity as a being and that is seen as a threat your physical body and so it desperately tries to make sense of this experience. it's not a flaw it's actually an attempt at your self trying to protect yourself from the unfamiliar.
this is important and where shifters say "let go" or have "patience" it applies here, do not fight the doubts or insecurities that come, persist in the feeling of knowing you are shifting and surrender to it, acknowledge each urge but understand that it does not defy nor control your abilities, remember that you are more than your physical self, take each thought as a wave count to 30 if you need to, the longer you persist and do not fight but rather alchemize these thoughts, the more they'll quieten until they become nothing and gradually you'll enter a deeper state and sink, losing awareness of your reality each time.
you are able to shift with doubts. you do not have to fight them, you have to acknowledge them and realise you hold more power. each time you fight them the more power you give these thoughts and the less you'll allow yourself to flow.
at certain point you'll reach a deep meditative state where you're free of any thoughts and your doubts do not seem as having much power, you're unaware of your surroundings and completely free of anything, free of expectations of what reality is and what we're "able to do" and most importantly free of any reality. that is when grounding affirmations can redirect your subconscious completely to another reality.
so anytime you've taken a shifting awake method attempt and felt "nothing is working" remember you were closer than you think.
hopefully this is helpful!
(again this is my own theory lmao based off of shadow work, shifting is individual entirely so.)
part of this post describes an example of an extinction burst which i find neat! anywho, i hope this motivates you all.
Nervous System Entry Key Method (NSEK)
This method combines neuroscience principles with nervous system regulation and repetition, and it's designed to shift your subconscious beliefs about The Void or anything you want to manifest.
✨My 7 day experience with NSEK✨
WHY THIS METHOD WORKS 🌠
1. Your Brain Is a Prediction Machine!
Your brain constantly tries to predict what’s going to happen based on past experiences.
If you consistently "fail" to enter the Void state, your brain starts to treat that scenario as "normal."
If something exceeds your prediction (e.g. suddenly becoming pure awareness, feeling symptoms, having your ideal life etc.), your brain treats it as unsafe or unfamiliar—and tries to get you back to what feels predictable.
2. Prediction Errors Trigger Resistance
When you imagine receiving everything you've ever wanted and more than what you're used to, your body may literally tense up, resist, or feel anxious.
This is your nervous system saying, “This doesn’t match what I expect, and I don’t feel safe.”
3. Neuroplasticity + Nervous System Regulation
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to change its wiring over time with repetition.
If you repeatedly imagine a new outcome (e.g. entering the void and living your dream life) while calming your body, you start to make this new reality feel safe.
This process resolves the prediction error and trains your brain to expect and accept successful Void induction.
🌀 HOW TO DO (NSEK) 🌀
(you can use this for any purposes, money, health, SP, etc. and change the affirmations to your liking)
Step 1: Get Calm. Sit somewhere comfortable. Place one hand on your chest and one on your belly.
Begin breathing deeply into both. Feel them rise and fall. This activates your parasympathetic nervous system (rest-and-digest mode).
Step 2: Bring Up a feeling of relaxation and peace of a past Void attempt.
Feel how relaxed and familiar that memory feels in your body. (If you don't have any relaxing memories of tapping into the void, use any other relaxing/safe feeling memory. This step is really just for deepening relaxation and the feeling of safety.)
Step 3: Introduce your desired outcome
Now mentally say:
✨ “Every night, I expect to wake up in the void, fully aware.”
Notice how your body reacts. You might feel Tightness in your chest, Sinking in your belly, Anxious thoughts or physical discomfort. Even if you don't, continue with the steps.
Step 4: Breathe Through the Resistance
Slowly inhale and exhale.
Visualize sending your breath to the tense or resistant area in your body.
Continue saying (in your mind or softly aloud):
✨ “Every night, I expect to wake up in the void, fully aware.”
Keep breathing until the body starts to soften.
Step 5: Affirm the New Prediction
When you feel calmer, say aloud:
✨ “Waking up in the void aware every night feels normal for me ”
✨ “Waking up in the void aware every night feels expected.”
This step helps your brain update its prediction and start encoding this new reality as "safe" and "familiar."
Repeat the affirmations as you breathe and feel the calm wash over you.
Repeat this Daily 🌅
Do this method at least once a day or as many times as you want, ideally when you’re relaxed.
Over time, you’ll experience less resistance and more openness to allowing yourself to have what you want.
What You're Actually Doing (In Scientific Terms) 🧪
Creating a prediction error (your body says “This is unfamiliar!”)
Resolving the error with calm, grounding sensory input (breath + touch)
Encoding a new pattern in your nervous system and brain (new neural pathways)
Making unfamiliar familiar, which allows your brain to stop blocking new Void inductions.
Final Tip:
Be patient. This is habitual rewiring of your brain and body. Think of it like going to the gym for your nervous system. You're unlearning to be afraid/let down by failed attempts. Treat this like brushing your teeth or drinking water. Do it every day. Enjoy the process of it. Enjoy the feelings of safety and know that you're done sabotaging yourself, knowingly or unknowingly.
I came up with the idea for this method from a YouTube video I saw about rewriting your beliefs about money but adapted it for Void. I don't know if this technique has already been coined by someone else so I just gave it a name I liked.

HI!!!😭 ITS ME. First of all, I’m so sorry for disappearing. I literally forgot I even wrote that confession. I’ve been trying to process everything because I’ve gone to so many realities since then. I’ve lived years in places that are 180 degrees different from here. I’m NOT the same person I used to be.
But enough about my multiverse side quests.
I’m writing this to thank everyone in the comments and to answer the big question: what finally changed after eight years?
First, I’m genuinely so sorry to everyone who’s in the same place I used to be. I know how it feels. I know the frustration, the "why is it working for everyone but me?" I feel you.
Now for the honest answer: I can’t give you a universal formula.
Shifting is deeply personal. Some people thrive with visualization. Some with meditation. Some with subliminals. Some with affirmations. Some shift with methods. Some shift without any method at all.
I tried everything in those eight years. Everything.
I reached the hypnagogic state so many times but never landed in my DR. I meditated for hours. I pulled all-nighters. I lost sleep. I got into dreams and forgot them the next day. If I didn’t forget them, I still wasn’t lucid. I never had a lucid dream no matter how much I affirmed or practiced.
SO WHAT CHANGED?
Honestly? I don’t know.
I did what I had always been doing .. and one day it finally happened.
You know how people say "Go to sleep with the intention every night and one day it will work. Just be patient." Well. It worked. After eight years😭
You need iron resolve! That’s the only universal thing I can say.
Now for my personal experience the week before I shifted:
I listened to one song on repeat: Lisbeth by Rise and Fall of a Decade. Hours and hours. On my phone. On my laptop. In my head. When I slept, I looped it. When I studied, I played it. I would literally mute Instagram reels just to keep that song playing in the background.
Why? Because I scripted that I would wake up with a gramophone on my left nightstand playing that exact song.
When I drank my tea (I’m a tea addict), I imagined my servant in my castle serving it to me.
I wore only silk for a whole week because I scripted I would wake up wearing a silky nightgown in my room.
Looking back, I think my biggest “tip” (if I can even call it that) is this:
Adopt your other self here.
Live as them. Think as them. Dress as them. Eat as them. Move through this reality as if you’re already overlapping. Match the frequency by embodying it.
But again!! this is what worked for me. It’s not a guaranteed method. Everyone is different. You have to experiment and learn what works for you. Subliminals, affirmations, naps, midnight attempts, REM cycles .. try everything until you understand yourself. No one knows you better than you.
Speaking of REM -> use it if it works for you.
I shifted around 6am after suhoor (pre dawn meal consumed by Muslims early in the morning before starting the daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan). I felt light and floaty because of fasting. I had been stargazing too while eating. When I shifted, it was NOT a simple blink and boom!
It was dramatic.
It felt like I was in the space between transitions. Like I was in a spaceship traveling somewhere. There were flares. It felt like I was arriving at a destination and making a brutal landing on a gravityless planet.
I know some people say shifting is instant and you’re just suddenly there. That’s not a universal truth. Mine was intense and cinematic.
So please!! don’t compare your process to someone else’s.
And please don’t think you’re broken if it’s taking time.
I waited eight years. I cried. I doubted myself. And now I’m here.
I genuinely hope none of you have to wait that long. But if you do, don’t give up on yourself.
If it happened to me after eight years of "failure" it can happen to you too.
I’m rooting for y'all. Always. WITH LOVE, J <3
☆ Confession Prompt 013: What is the best shifting tip you have ever used? ☆
say it with me,
"i dont care that i woke up in my cr today, i am in my dr no matter what's in front of my eyes."
"i decide where i belong."
You rule.
Never give up on shifting. I’m so serious.
It took me eight years. Eight. Years. Not one single successful attempt the whole time. I cried, I doubted myself, I was convinced I was the problem. I watched other people succeed and wondered what was wrong with me.
And then today?
I FINALLY SHIFTED.
I woke up in my waiting room and then I rode a dragon. An actual dragon. I just got back from flying through the sky like that’s a normal activity.
Before I shifted back here, I set the intention to return to my original reality but with one tiny upgrade: I can now shift whenever I want, as easily as breathing. No methods. No rituals. No overthinking. I just decide and I’m there the next second.
Some people can’t imagine waiting years. Trust me, I lived it. Eight years of patience, frustration, tears, feeling stuck .. and now? Now I’m sitting here realizing I get an eternity as a master shifter, living in countless realities and doing literally whatever I want.
Suddenly those eight years feel microscopic.
I rode a dragon. I JUST CAME BACK FROM A DRAGON FLIGHT.
By the time you’re reading this, I’m probably already back in my waiting room spinning a lottery wheel to decide which reality I’m visiting next~
Worth it. All of it.😭❤️🔥
