frankenstein (2025) + the gothic bridal carry

Absolutely obsessed with del toro’s Frankenstein adaptation! Had to draw Elizabeth immediately!

Frankenstein is my favourite book ever, and wow he did it justice! Obviously so many differences from the original novel, but all amazing changes that made the film its own unique telling. He did such a wonderful job of capturing the concept of the sublime present in the novel!

The visuals were absolutely stunning, especially the costumes! I loved how they made all of Elizabeth’s costumes entirely symmetrical, as a nod to her comment on symmetrical wonder of the human body. Here’s my take on her first appearance, wanted to give her a Madonna like halo 🫶

Very obsessed with monster media again!

Hair obviously inspired by Frankie stein!! I think going forward I want to change her hair to be entirely black with two white streaks like the original film :)
