In honor of that ST interview, here’s how I think the party babysitting would go

Will

Will would probably be the 2nd best babysitter in my opinion. Maybe it’s because of all the fics I’ve read where they write Will as being very sweet to Holly, but I think he’s soft and gentle enough to be able to handle some calm little kids. I could see him drawing while they color…but I doubt he’d be able to handle a bunch of rowdy brrrraaaatttssss

Lucas

Lucas is definitely the best sitter imo, and if you’re wondering why I didn’t put him first…I didn’t think about that 😓 but I think he’d be the best because he’s firm, yet caring. I think he’d be especially good at taking care of kids with higher energy. He’d know to take them outside and get their energy out before bedtime, and he’s generally a really responsible person. Also he’s super cool and if kids think you’re cool, they’ll listen better.

Mike

The kids would stress mike out LMFAO I think Mike would be an okay babysitter. I don’t know, just something about the way Mike is makes me think he’d be a bad babysitter. I know he’s sweet with Holly, but like…that’s his sister. Also, again, kids listen better when they think you’re cool, and kids would NOT think Mike’s cool, so…but if the kids were into nerdy shit like him, I think they’d get along better. I guess it’s less so an issue with Mike being bad with kids, and more so me just thinking that there’s not a single chance children would listen to Michael Wheeler.

Dustin

As much as I love Dustin, he’d be a terrible babysitter. He’s sassy…? I’m not sure how to describe him, but he behaves in such a way that I don’t think fits a babysitter. He kinda just generally is a bit of a menace…like when he called Ted Wheeler a son of a bitch. I think that’s another reason why I don’t think he’d make a good babysitter; he swears a lot. Also I could totally see him telling the kids a bed time story but accidentally making it way too scary for these poor 5 year olds, so…if I had kids, Dustin would not be watching them. Also, he’s not responsible at all, so I doubt he’d get hired by anybody. Despite all that, I honestly do think he could be a fun babysitter to some more rebellious or otherwise nerdy kids.

Eleven

I think El would be okay with kids, but I mostly don’t think she’d be good with them because I don’t think she’d know what to do with them if that makes sense. Like, she’s already trying to figure herself out and what she likes, so trying to figure out what little kids like would probably be a little difficult. I think she’d need some time to actually get used to being around kids, since she’s barely used to being around other teenagers. But, theoretically, if she were allowed to use her powers around people, I could see her getting super happy to impress some kids with her powers. Also, after getting used to being around kids, I could see her doing arts and crafts with them or playing pretend games like kitchen, dolls, action figures, etc.

Max

Max would be a terrible babysitter. Well, maybe not terrible. I mean, she was good with Holly (but then, again they were in similar situations, and Holly was also the first person Max was able to talk to in months), but I can’t really see her taking care of kids like that. I could see her occasionally skateboarding with the neighbors kids and secretly getting bubbly inside when she shows them a trick and they think it’s cool, but other then that, I can’t see her as a babysitter at all. I love Max, but she’s got too much on her plate to watch a bunch of snot nosed brats!!!

It’s also interesting how, to me at least, all the evidence pointing towards Byler endgame is stuff within the actual show, whereas the evidence pointing towards Mileven endgame is stuff outside of it

Like I think Byler could end up being endgame because it would make sense for both characters, it gives a satisfying conclusion to mikes repressive character arc, they’ve been hinting at it for a while now, etc.

But with Mileven, I think it could end up being endgame because they’ve spent almost the entire show’s run marketing this ship. Because it’s a Netflix show. Because it’s less likely for them to “throw away” their main ship for a character that, honestly? Half of the GA didn’t even like until he got powers.

My belief in Mileven endgame comes from me not believing they’d have the balls to make Byler canon, but my belief in Byler endgame comes from me actually seeing it as a plausible, satisfying ending for both characters.
