hot take on ola x otis.
a lot of people are saying they did Ola dirty by getting her with Otis since she seems like she’s a women x women kinda girl but I think by putting her with Otis it makes the show even more progressive. just because a girl has short hair and wears a suit does not mean she’s a lesbian. it shuts down our notions and stereotype that a masculine girl = lesbian. it completely gets rid of society’s standard gender roles. the Ola and Otis pairing just makes Sex Education that more relatable to everyday life.
that being said Ola could totally be bi, pansexual etc, in which case that’s cool too because more representation and the fact that girls can be sexually and/or romantically interested in boys and still be bi or whatever!!!
and if in the end everyone’s assumptions do come true and Ola is in fact 100% gay then it allows a character arc where Ola has to figure herself out and let herself be who she wants to be!!!
basically Ola is great and this setup of her relationship with Otis only leaves us with good storylines for Ola. unless they created her just to push along Maeve and Otis’ relationship and will toss her out like she’s nothing in which case I WILL RIOT BECAUSE I LOVE HER.
