"There can never be too many Jameses in my opinion."
@spencerneverdies
"No, indeed, one just simply is not enough." Observing the other man with the faintest quirk of a pale brow, Bond rose from the spot he was languidly stretched out over and bobbed his head in a mild greeting. "Unless of course, this is highlander. In which case, one of us has to die."
"You're fucking infuriating."
@fearofmercy
Whilst this was coming out of left field, Bond couldn't exactly disagree with the spitefire statement. Infuriating was practically his middle name, especially if it gleaned information out of people without their notice. Delila wasn't so easy to wring information out of, but that did not mean Bond found her any less enjoyable to antagonize into a spitting, furious rage. "You aren't wrong."
“Are you going to report to medical yourself or do I need to drag your arse down there myself?”
@cardigansandearlgrey
"I have half a mind to say I'd like to see you try." The Double-O leaned faintly on the opposite side of Q's desk, taking stock of the damages done to himself in his last outting. What he came up with suggested he could easily return to field duty, no reason to fuss or deal with fussy medical personnel. "Anyway." Dipping a hand into the pocket of his unbuttoned jacket, when he withdrew the hand, he offered out a small chip. "I believe this is more intriguing than a few scrapes."

“Come at me!”
“I will end your win streak right here!”
“I’ve faced worse.”
“I’ll make this quick.”
“Stand still!”
“You look like you couldn’t even hurt a fly.”
“Didn’t know I was going to be fighting a child.”
“It’s nothing personal.”
“Ready to give up?”
“You couldn’t even punch a wall.”
“Looks like you’re on the ropes.”
“This’ll be easy.”
“Please, we don’t have to do this!”
“They sent you out unprepared?!”
“What’d you think is behind that gate?”
“Looks like we’ll be fighting alongside each other, old friend.”
“I hate to see you on the other side of the arena, my friend.”
“You may be big, but you ain’t stupid.”
“Had enough?”
“Look, I hate you, but I hate them more. Can we call a truce just for this fight?”
“This match’ll be a bore.”
“They gave me the wrong weapon!”
“Stand up and face me!”
“Get up!”
“Stay down!”
“We fight until one doesn’t get back up.”
“How many fights have you been in already today?”
“You look like you can barely stand.”
“What kind of creature are you?”
“One on one; come on!”
“You. Me. Fight to the death.”
"You know exactly that I am talking about your interest in Agent Whiskey. Don't insult either of us by playing dumb."
@garethmallory
"You and I both know that I have many interests in many things; people, places~"
Trailing off, pale brows rose faintly. "I haven't done anything to him, if that is what you're concerned about." Nothing beyond keeping an eye on the fellow, if only to ensure that Mallory and Merlin both were not harmed by him.
Don't you think that the new M is a bit of a bureaucratic hardass?
"Those are your words, not mine." In truth, the new M had different edges, but he was a decent judge of character and he had all but thrown himself at a bullet to protect the previous M.
"Sticking your nose in my private business, Bond? Again?"
@garethmallory
"Blue is a nice color on you, nothing private about that, now is there?"
His words were edged with amusement, lips curving upward only faintly. “
So, what do you think about the new M?
"I think the color blue suits him just fine." Bond mused, unwilling to share his thoughts and opinions on the man. Leaning back within his chair, the agent kicked up his feet and shrugged. "Anything in particular I should think about M?"

Tight spaces were not his least favorite on-the-job nuisances, and if he thought about it, Q-Branch had a penchant for running him into some the less-maneuverable tunnel. It would be unprofessional for him to assume it were sometimes out for spite and entirely in good nature. It certainly wouldn't have been an issue now, if only Bond hadn't backed both he and his boss into the tiniest closet known to man-kind to evade possible assailants. He would never admit to the mistake of having snagged a couple of--likely not useless, but not encoded to either of them--weapons from Q-Branch in their hasty escape. Not that one of them actually mattered anymore, it had been used as a bluff, a bludgeon, and subsequently a distraction in order for them to be able to run. Focusing on matching his breathing up with Gareth's, he shifted ever so slightly and felt every place that their bodies were connected--which admittedly would not have been so bad, were they not in such a tight space. Nowhere to run if their assailants figured them out. That was one of the biggest reasons he'd practically shoved M in first and barricaded the doorway with his own body. "When we are certain all is clear, I would like to do a once over of the room and adjoining room." Voice pitched low, Bond shifted back again and tilted his head up and to the side to better murmur those words with better chance of M hearing him.
"Stay here until the all-clear is given."
"Apparently I missed your birthday, how about we get a round tonight to make up for it?"
@mynameismoneypenny
"Must be a rumor going 'round the office." As much as he was enjoying the offers of booze and supper, a missed birthday was nothing truly to fuss over. "Why don't we just call it a round between colleagues and leave it at that? None of this birthday nonsense."
"I realise you doubt my intentions.”
@mynameismoneypenny
"Don't take it personally, I have my doubts about everyone's intentions." Whilst he spoke, Bond slowly reclined and stretched a leg out to rest upon a low coffee table set in front of him, icy eyes slowly rolling over the woman--half checking for weaponry, half for other reasons. "What have you got for me?"
nobodytoldthehorse:
Apparently “spite” is not an ‘appropriate answer’ to “What motivates you?”
"A little bird told me ye've had a birthday recently. Since I found out a bit late, would ye accept a raincheck dinner and a bottle of sherry cask scotch to make up for it?"
@nowcountryroads
"Doing a bit more digging into my dossier?" Tilting his chair forward so that the four legs sat perfectly upon the ground, he unfolded the hands previously rested just before his visage and consider Merlin with a look that was mild and not much more. "Why don't we just call it a nice evening, there is no reason to add in birthday nonsense, Merlin."
“Bond...”
@drarialy
“Yes?”
Without lifting his gaze or even actually turning toward Aria, he acknowledged her statement but appeared only to be half listening.

Independent 007 James Bond Written by TK
quarterofamaster:
They tell you about attachments; a handbook on decorum, how best to conduct yourself. He’s a superior officer for fucks sake, tasked with technology and munitions; innovation toward better spies.
Favoritism was discouraged, but it happened. Of course it happened. Here was a man, the youngest Quartermaster MI6 had ever seen; an overachiever, loyal to Queen and Country– and to his agents.
Especially those who never questioned his youth or qualifications.
009 had been just that– he’d been welcoming, accepted the new Quatermaster for who he was and what he could do, and not an inexperienced man thrust into a role after an explosion took the lives of others.
But he was inexperienced, wasn’t he.
How did he miss this…
His gaze settles on the guns, hands reaching, tentative, for the one he’d assigned to Nine. He studies it, quietly, weighing it in his hands as though it would tell him the weight of his error (shoulders sag with his guilt).
“…We aren’t suppose to have favorites.” A pull of uncertainty in his features; uncharacteristic. His gaze lifts, sorrow filled eyes studying, cataloguing the lacerations, the bruising; blood stained and ruined features, aged and tired.
“Bond– I didn’t know. I didn’t know he would do this.” You must believe me.
From the very beginning Bond had questioned everything; from the cut of his own suits, to the weight of his weaponry, to the motivations of his handlers, and the state of the world. Bond was the sort of man to push, and push, and push until he knew precisely the reactions another would offer in nearly every scenario, with a plethora of variables. Double-Oh Seven also knew that he did not particularly like Nine. It was why he picked at the man like a scab, snatching up his things, prodding fun at his tastes for gaudy showtunes and smarmy flirtations. Seven may have been envious of how easliy Nine wormed his way into the hearts of many, if he thought he were capable of the emotional response that envy required. When the man had shown up, packing his typical Q-Branch issued weaponry, Bond knew immediately that Roque was not present to lend a hand. Two Double-Oh's in once place seemed like overkill. And as it happened, Nine had every intention of putting Seven down. Amusing. Unfortunate. Nine had also managed to slip away, an oversight but Bond's concern for his home base and the people there within drove him back to Mi6 rather than chasing illusive agents. Apparently Nine had acted without authorization, or he had acted on highly secretive authorization--investigation pending.
His trust in command and his comrades was shattered. Near irrevocably.
"And yet." Sliding that steel and ice gaze down toward the weapon that Q cradled as he spoke, Bond considered how many discharged shots had been made, considered the two nestled uncomfortably within his skin. Slowly he returned his gaze to the young Quartermaster's face, noting the warring of uncertainty and sorrow as they chased each other across his features. Straightening his spine and squaring his shoulders, Bond was nowhere near as large as Roque was, not nearly as broad, but his personality was a wildfire that sucked air straight out of a room. His gaze was blades of ice, and he stared Q down.
"It was bound to happen." The agent answered, quite clearly dubious of the Quartermaster’s claims. He did not trust him.
