ARE. A . GOD. DAMN. IT. And you can't disobey a God. And it leaves you breathless and small and insignificant and overwhelmed and you would devote the remaining years of your life to their happiness so they never have to want for anything, because you'll be there to provide it, if they would only ask, please ask, please ask, no I'm begging you to let me join the order of happy, mindless things that serve you. Isn't that what being a God is about? Imagine being God's favoured chosen one, wouldn't you throw your life away to try? Wouldn't it feel so good to do that? Doesn't it feel good to offer it?
