Welcome to Summer nights lights

I was thinking that we could all use a dose of summer magic, so I would like to invite you to write some fic with summer nights vibe.

We need fairy lights, balmy evenings and good friends. Feel free to add a love affair or two before spicing it up with a delicious drink and maybe a few complications.

You can find the collection here if you would like to contribute, it will be open from now and until late August.

Any and all SW pairings are very welcome, as I am a big fan of the more the merrier, just please remember to tag the works appropriately and include relevant content warnings, thank you.

If you want to make art? Add it to the collection or tag @summernightslights in your tumblr post and I will do my best to give it a reblog. Same goes for postes about your fics.

If you have any ideas or prompts you would like to share, please let me know and I will make a post with a list, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

also yes, this naga Obi is a sea krait, they can swim and move on land (albeit a bit slower than their speed in water!)

Naboo has always been a mixture of Asian cultures, prominently Japanese culture, hence the aesthetic as you can see at here

I asked @barmadumet if she had any ideas for the summer night light collection, and she suggested something with ice cream. When I asked if it should be naughty, she said the collection could use a bit of spice. Hopefully, this short fic lives up to that, nothing too explicit, though.

Thank you to @wibzenadarksiderwithasoftheart for coming up with this collection; I love this idea!

The events of this fic are loosely based on a true story; I was receiving play-by-play texts from a friend and immediately relaying them to a chat with @somethingsteff and breathlessly declaring that this needed to be an Obikin fic, stat. Months later that chat turned into an outline that became this fic. Thank you for the beta and brainstorming sessions @somethingsteff!

Thank you @palfriendpatine66 for walking me through the moodboard/wedding invite - this is all you, and SO much better than what I started with :)

@underacalicosky, thank you for encouraging me when I say things like, 'what if Anakin breaks his finger at his own wedding reception?' in the middle of the workday ;)

I just did something very absurd and out of character for me! I posted a new work - spur of the moment, no planning, no stress editing, and it’s SMOL and not a whole damn book!

@wibzenadarksiderwithasoftheart posted this adorable and happy little obianidala ficlet to the Summer Nights Lights Collection earlier, and I told her it was lovely and I wished I could write something simple and drama-free.

She told me to do it!

And I did!

Summer nights lights snippet

The midsummer pyre had already burned down to smoldering embers when Ahsoka returned to them, plopping down in the short grass surrounding the clearing.

"Hey Snips, is one of those for me?" Anakin asked, pointing to the two beers she was carrying.

"Nope, they're both mine."

She flipped one of her long blue and white striped braids over her shoulder and flashed him a grin, holding out a beer toward him.

"You're so generous," Anakin deadpanned taking a sip. He leaned against Obi-Wan holding the bottle out toward him.

Obi-Wan shook his head.

"No, thanks, you can keep that to yourself."

"We prefer something more refined."

Padmé smiled at Obi-Wan from her position with her head in his lap, one of his hands combing through her long, lush curls.

"You two are such snobs."

"Not at all, otherwise you wouldn't have had a chance with us."

Padmé's smile was sweet, but her eyes twinkled with amusement.

Anakin made his best sulky face.

"Snips, they're mean to me. Nobody loves me."

Ahsoka raised an eyebrow at him, smirking.

"Drama king."

Anakin threw himself dramatically back onto the grass, covering his eyes with one arm.

"You are all so mean."

"Nah, just telling the truth."

Anakin groaned and the others laughed, continuing to tease him as the warm summer evening faded into a bright summer night.
