So the thing is boobs really do be jiggling. If having breasts has taught me anything it is that the ladies frolic. I don't even have that large of boobs but every time I go down some stairs all I can think about is that stupid quote about boobing breastily down the stairs or whatever it is because God Damn.

But anime and video game boob jiggling is like. The most uncanny valley shit I've ever seen nine times out of ten. You would think people this horny about tits would have actually looked at some but I guess not.

Game companies hate emulation, but none of them seem to understand that a lot of us would just buy ROMs from them directly if we could. I don't want a fifth remake of Final Fantasy IV, I want to pay five bucks for the 3MB file you already made bank with thirty years ago. Nobody who wants to play something for the purpose of retro gaming is going to consider a $40 remake as the alternative option, and we're certainly not going to let the original dissappear. They're crying about opportunity cost for a product they're not even selling.

op i know you're probably talking about like, video games, etc, but this is also critical for research science - my lab has so much abandonware, either because the company's out of business, or the company decided to not maintain it, and it's a fucking nightmare. we have two windows 95 computers that are CRITICAL for performing experiments/data analysis because the software needed is abandonware. one of the main roles for a guy in my lab is to maintain these little dinosaurs because if they go out, we lose access to ~20 years of raw data for research. part of why is that these companies also make their own file types, and make it difficult-to-impossible to convert those file types without their specific software. by habit, i convert all research files to more generic versions (txt, pdf, tif, etc) so that i minimize risk of losing my shit, but some stuff can't be converted.

for example, we have a microscope that is perfectly functional, good microscope, but its software is abandonware because the company refused to maintain it. the company is still in business, still makes essentially the exact same software, but they made all of the old tech incompatible with new software to force people to buy the new microscope tech. it would cost a quarter million dollars to replace this microscope. this perfectly good microscope.

so like, i know a lot of people look at the original post here and go "well op just wants old video games to play" (which is valid! games companies should not be able to push shit to abandonware and then close it off) but also this is critical for like. biomedical research. if y'all had any idea how much basic infrastructure built on science relies on shit that is technically abandonware, you would probably be horrified.

the american south is the most racially diverse and poorest region of the united states, and any political sentiment that treats the south is stupid or expendable is inherently racist and classist. a lot of y'all are racist and classist. the south is also the heart of american culture. argue with a wall. you cannot deny that everybody in the entire world does not emulate artists from atlanta. there is vested interest in keeping the south poor and uneducated BECAUSE this is the most racially diverse region in this country. if you actually give a fuck about progress, you would fight for the south, not mock us.

I have been following the men's world cup closely despite not posting about it on tumblr (instead, I've been super chatty about it on bluesky). here's a bulleted list of my thoughts and feelings over the last few weeks

first of all, gotta get this out of the way first: the women's world cup is way more where it's at. especially if you wanna root for the US team. the women's team is the GOAT. a lot of this, from my understanding, is thanks to Title IX and some genuinely talented women soccer players in the '80s and early '90s leading up to the 1991 women's world cup

CABO VERDE. MY UNDERDOG CHAMPIONS! they may have lost in the round of 32, but they did not lose a single game in regulation time (meaning they lost only to Argentina in the tiebreaker added time)

adding on to that, Vozinha. oh my god. i was unfamiliar with your game. i love you.

okay i swear this is more than a Vozinha glazing post--but yes, he is genuinely the best goalkeeper in this tournament, and Cabo Verde came out of nowhere against all odds and nearly beat the previous world champions (who might win again this time)

the US men's team blew their chance. this is not a dig at Belgium at all--they are legitimately a good team! but this was a real chance for the US to make it to the quarterfinals (where they would have been curb-stomped by Spain).

Trump dug the grave for the US team.

I don't agree with the red card the ref gave to US's Balogun in the previous game. It was a bit of a risky challenge, and I can see arguments for a yellow card, but Balogun had no other yellow cards or grievances to give a case for the ref to factor in his behavior to elevate the challenge to a red card, thereby suspending him from the round of 16.

EVEN SO, it being overturned the way it did might follow him around forever even though he showed so much class during the whole thing. He shook the ref's hand after the red card when he had to leave the field. He didn't throw a tantrum, he didn't blast them in interviews later, he didn't make a big deal out of it--at least not publicly.

but Trump going to FIFA and pressuring them to overturn it is disgusting. yet another data point--one of many--pointing to FIFA's corruption.

speaking of FIFA's corruption...the referee for the Argentina-Egypt game yesterday was not it. He was missing fouls Argentina was committing and going back and reviewing things Egypt did like there was zero consistency at all. It felt so one-sided, blatantly in favor of Argentina whenever something was up to the referee's interpretation.

African teams showed up SO WELL this year. Egypt played great yesterday. Cabo Verde was super good against Argentina on last Friday. Morocco vs. France soon! (beat the colonizers, let's go!!!!)

Mexico also gave a showstopper of a game against England, and I wish they could have won it, but they just couldn't make it happen

rooting for Norway next!

Japan also gave an amazing show against Brazil. I have faith they'll go farther next time.

With the whole Egypt vs Argentina match

It honestly comes down to bad refereeing.

And when that happens what can you do but say its unfair

Was the comeback amazing? Of course who else but messi

Was the initial foul committed on the build up of the second egypt goal?(some would say the whole tournament light fouls on build up that like were left to stand but in this instance by the letter of the law so fair) Yes and var was rightly checked.

When var wasn't checked (refused by the ref??) AND the same foul on build up on that last Argentinian goal was present but allowed to stand, doesn't it look pretty bad???

Is the cup being handed to Argentina? Obviously not they still have to play and win their games and egypt did fumble at the end. But when every 50/50 goes your way and deliberate fouls (that one push on the egypt player???) aren't being called its gives the image of being favored by the refereeing and can potentially throw this whole thing into disrepute

Its such a shame because it tarnishes what could have been the match of the tournament
