I thought once before that "we" couldn't

and then one fateful day

through miles worth of space

a text exchange caused a cosmic change

yeah its true

"if you didn't have a boyfriend I might have a crush on you"

and one year later the messages show instead.... "I love you too ♥"

You might like playing with dolls.

You might like playing sports.

You might like having long hair.

You might like having short hair.

You might like all different kinds of things;

but

that doesn’t mean you’re a mistake.

You might be tall.

You might be short.

You might be loud.

You might be quiet.

You might be artistic.

You might be scientific.

You might be different from these descriptors;

but

that doesn’t mean you’re a mistake.

You are fearfully and

wonderfully made.

You are a unique creation,

you don’t have to change

how you’re made.

See the devil likes to

lie by telling you

you have to change, because you don’t fit

society’s mold.

You are not a stereotype!

You can’t be duplicated!

You are still you, and

you don’t have to

change to please the world.

You are not a mistake!

God doesn’t make mistakes!

You are created with a purpose,

and that

is the real

truth.

when in moments of wonder filled eyes

I gaze at you and you wonder why

tis because you cause my heart-shaped cup to runnith over

flooding my soul with gaiety this mid October

even by the sight you my brain is transposed to mush

and nothing do I want more dearly than to lay in your arms and rant of your graces without needing be hushed

my night light

here I lay upon my bed

I try to sleep

but something's amis within my sleepy head

I roll over and open my eyes

finding blackness

and that's just it I realize

I forgot to turn on my night light to cut through the dark

kind of like you

a light of love within my heart :)
