Where is the beer? WHERE IS THE CHEESE???
I'm ready to start some witchy discourse today:
Don't blow out your candles!
consume them to extinguish the flames
Thanks for bringing up this important discourse. Of course I firmly believe that one must consume the candle base-first and eat all the wax before you get to the wick, and if the flame goes out before you consume the entire candle that means your spell will not manifest.
I disagree. Unhinge your jaw and swallow the candle whole like a snake, flame first. Only way to do it in my book.
Some traditions say that it's acceptable to melt the candle and drink it if you're not able to eat it whole, but this seems a little bit elitist since not everyone has the equipment. (Also, this is supposed to be a NATURAL practice and bringing a double boiler into it really seems like muddying the waters with pop culture and technology.)
Happy 17 years to this guy I won’t ever stop drawing any time soon. My half demon OC, Sah’ki. This was fun to work on. Apologies for compressing the hell out of the pic… the canvas wasn’t large enough and I kept adding more and more :c
Gorgeous 😍 @turtle-babe83
Ooooh he’s so beautiful 😍
WHOMST
I had a bot read 100,000,000 witchcraft guides! Then I asked it to produce its own! Here’s what it came up with:
Witchcraft is love, light, & salt. Do you do a witch? How much sage do you burn? Burn sage everywhere in pots and screaming pans. A witch is moss or a crystal.
Ingredients:
rosemary
quartz
tarot
a womb
candle
small knife
screaming
scott cunningham
salt
the moon
First take rosemary in your hand, then quartz on a table. Pray. Scream into tarot deck.
Loki and Hecate are too gay for you and very naughty. Are you gay or a woman? Then you are a crystal.
Rose quartz is a perfect substitute for everything, other than rosemary. Lay down in grass. Feel the vibe of your insides. The mother earth is herbal bread. Energy heal a cat familiar before posting a picture of it on Instagram. If you don’t fold a curse away from you, you will perish. Scream again. Tell a spirit it is a motherfucker, do not let it into your house.
Scott Cunningham wants you to spray salt water on your doors. Make infusions! Put salt in your water!
To cast a circle, walk around love and lightly, whisper sweet nothings to a small knife as you point it at each wall. Call out the names of your cats. Play Magic The Gathering Today!
If you can’t conjure rosemary, store bought is fine. If you say you are a witch, then you are moss or a mushroom. [Image of crystals and herbs] Have you done a cultural appropriation today? Set out your herbs and bowl, place them on the moon. Moon water is crucial for this next part. Do literally whatever you want, it doesn't matter! Feel your ovaries? That's witchcraft. If you cannot, then you are gay and not a witch, unless you are rosemary.
My grandmothers burned so that I can have crystals. The Queen of Cups is my spirit animal. [Image of trees in fog] Run through grass with your toes out. Do not step inside mushrooms, you will lose your name and a baby will be put inside your house.
Twirl your hands clockwise four times and put nails in a jar to stop bad stuff. Anoint a candle with essential oil from bath and body works.
You have now made your house safe from herbs.
Witchy ask game:
What sorts of magic do you think I have a natural aptitude for?
What do you think I lack an aptitude in?
Send me an ask with your answers!
inspired by a very cool reading that @windvexer did for me
This are very cool questions, even just to ponder for yourself as introspective thought exercises!
Took me FOREVER to figure these out.

Apothecaria [Fall, Week 1] (Week 6, Day 5) 9/23
Went back to the Mountain today just to hunt around for reagents. Still no luck on that Magicite. I thought for a moment I had found some valuable metal--but I was mistaken. I did manage to find another Crystal Sun and some Walnut Husks.
Apothecaria [Fall, Week 1] (Week 6, Day 4) 9/22
Got a letter from that blacksmith. He's going to be at the Maker's Market later this season. I guess a lot of people sell tools and components in addition to finished products. The weight of his handwriting gave me the impression that he had tried several times to write a letter--but might have either destroyed previous attempts or just driven the pen through the paper due to the force.
I did spend some time in the Mountains. I was hoping to run across some Magicite--but I am also well aware of how unlikely it would be to find any. No luck on the Magicite--but I did find some common quartz.

Apothecaria [Fall, Week 1] (Week 6, Day 3) 9/21
Spent some time carving at that Thornwood I found the other day. I decided I wanted to start making a wand, and it was far easier than I expected to form it to that general shape. I wasn't feeling very well, so this was a nice way to spend the day inside and resting. Noelle is looking much better, and she was smiling towards the end of the day. She's been shedding out all that fur from the Yeti Chest, and keeps preening it out in a near obsessive manner. She said it itches quite a bit--even worse than molting. I made a note of that in case I encounter any other harpies with the same ailment. By the early evening, Noelle took off back towards her home town. She did promise to send a letter when she got back safe, and thanked me for letting her crash on my couch.
Apothecaria [Fall, Week 1] (Week 6, Day 2) 9/20
Headed into town today. Spent 1 silver for a small jar of honey for Noelle's remedy. I also received a notice from the Museum of Magic, asking for donations. I suppose they must have seen my illustrations... Regardless, that might be a fun bit of distraction. I also visited a few stores for tools. I purchased some wood scraps (6 silver), a bone needle (20 silver), a simple carving knife (15 silver) and a boar hair brush (5 silver)
Then, I went back home and brewed the treatment for Noelle. Thankfully she was able to tolerate it well after I added the honey. The hair started falling out after about an hour, and her throat and lungs have been feeling better. She plans on staying one more night, just in case the recovery needs more time. It was noticeable that she was in better spirits. She took a hot bath and started preening out the hair right away--and she had not seemed motivated to leave the couch until then.
People who perform manual labor should be not only given high and liveable wages, but unlimited access to healthcare and physical therapy to help manage the myriad conditions that come from doing back-breaking work.
Like this is not an absurd concept. It bothers me that people think that it is.
