Here comes SugarBeats with their debut LP, “Fly High.” This Oregon-based duo have been throwing it down with glitch hop and future funk beats. On the Westwood Recordings label, SugarBeats has carved their own niche in electronic music, with heavy bass lines and funky vocals.

Russ Liquid - Dont Cry

Russell Scott has been building Big G reverence for himself with his live and expressive instrumentation, bringing together groovy, futuristic vibes and a broad sound spectrum. Off his latest album, In Love, Dont Cry is the perfect jam to get you out of a funk…or rather, into one. 

Dack Janiels - Glo Up Feat. GloGangTwins

A little dubstep for the squad. Tanner Chung is an Icon Collective graduate and proud rep of the 40oz Cult, “representing the opposite of bottle service culture, one 40oz at a time.” Dack Janiel’s is notorious for his neck-breaking beats and aggressive attacks. So prepare the artillery, it’s time for battle.

It’s a rainy Sundaze in Santa Barbara! Snuggle up and enjoy these Sounds!

Get your sub ready for this one: synths, snares, deep bass, and a dreamy outro. Joshua Brennan, Oshi, is a 17-year-old producer from London and is the youngest person ever to play a Boiler Room set. He’s also a co-founder of the record label, Film Noir: Sound, and has even co-produced some hiphop Sounds, like “The Force” with KYLE (aka SuperDuperKyle). Not too shabby for seventeen.

Tisoki x Spag Heddy - Forest Temple

Tisoki comes from Edinburgh and considers himself a “musician, producer, and ur friend.” He’s teamed up with the Spanish dubstep producer, Spag Heddy, in this Nest HQ premiere (yes, the media platform co-founded by Skrillex). They say forest temple; I say alien spaceship. Give a listen and decide for yourself.

StéLouse - 4 U

Today’s official Sundaze Sound will hitcha right in the feels. StéLouse, pronounced “Stay Loose,” hails from Denver, CO and has set out to defy genres with his future bass beats. Influenced by the dreamers, the believers, and the star seekers, StéLouse considers his musical creations “a reflection of [his] heart and soul.” We’re feeling it, and so are many record labels: Die High, Vitalic Noise, Atlantic, Filthy Fortune, and more. Cant Catch Clouds - GRÕÕVË

This week’s official Sundaze Sound. Matt Roberts is a London-based producer going by the name Cant Catch Clouds. He puts a future spin on the acapella vocals of “Groove is in the Heart” by the American dance band, Deee-Lite, for what he claims was a “uni assignment.” Homework or nah, I’m vibin’ with the love sounds.

G JONES - FUCK WHAT YOU HEARD

Get a sneak peak of this truly mind-twisting Sound, soon to be released by Saturate Records. Formerly known by the stage name Grizzly J, this Santa Cruz producer is killing the bass game. Hard. So get yo’ grime face ready for the one and only, G JOOOOOOONES.

AR - 18 Wheeler

AR “the Bushmaster” brings you a Sound for the true dubstep fan. After studying at the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, this native Floridian has settled in Birmingham, UK. For now. Dubstep ain’t dead y’all, but your brain might be after this.

Happy Sundaze! After the relaxing holiday, I figured everyone could use some new dance-worthy beats to get you out of that turkey coma and up on your feet. I’m very excited to share this week’s Sounds: psychedelic vibes, dubstep womp, and hip hop jams on deck!

Zebbler Encanti Experience - Insource ft. Ninesense

Premiered three months ago but recently highlighted by The Untz. Based in Boston, Z.E.E. is a collaboration of the visual artist, Peter ’Zebbler’ Berdovsky, and electronic music producer, Ben ’Encanti’ Cantil, to bring you a visual psychedelic bass experience. Founder of Zebbler Studios, Zebbler is known for his visual work with artists such as Shpongle and EOTO while Encanti drops the glitchy, bass heavy beats. This psytrap Sound also features psychedelic trance artist, Ninesense (aka manipulatioN), for a plethora of pixels and bass. Read an interview with Z.E.E. and The Untz here. 

EH!DE & Walter Wilde - High Grade

Spanish producer Eh!de is changing the game with his dark, melodic dubstep. Here he’s linked up with Canadian bass music producer and co-founder of the RMT dubstep collective, Walter Wilde. Get hyped for Eh!de’s first solo release with Firepower Records, Redemption EP, dropping on December 4th!

Owl Green - Freemason

Shameless plug for the homie. One half of the clutch hip hop duo, Sweatshop Steve & Owl Green, and mic champ for the dubstep group, AlphaBit, this San Francisco dude is someone to keep on the radar. With his new release, may I present to you, Owl Green, “hiphop’s very own freemason”. Malt is life, baby.

Gladkill - After Death Mixtape

A brand new mixtape of all original music by the one and only, Gladkill! Many of these Sounds will be featured on the forthcoming After Death album, set to release after the new year. “An album spawned through love, loss, separation, death, catharsis and rebirth- this is life After Death.”

Start off your Sundaze with some ethereal Sounds. Pittsburgh-based “art advocate and beat maker” Headphone Activist released this heavily anticipated single early this week, mixing hi-hat beats and xylophone melodies into “cloud rap” (with no rap…) Free download available on SoundCloud. Ian Ewing & UNDA - You Wanna

Next up, we’ve got some Melody Soul for you by Ian Ewing & UNDA. Ian Ewing is a self-taught instrumentalist and self-declared hummus warrior. Affiliated with several labels (Noh Life, Blvnt Records, Melody Soul), Ewing drops his Rootnote Collective Pool Party EP on November 27th. A collaboration with Swiss reggaeton artist, UNDA, You Wanna wins the title for Sexy Sound of the week.

Manic Science - Funky Style (feat. Lettuce)

This was actually released a few weeks ago but recently came to my attention, and it’s too good not to share. Break Science and Manic Focus have combined forces and are calling themselves “Manic Science”. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, Lettuce joins them in “Funky Style” for a true trifecta of electro funk.

James Oklander & Stephen Murphy - Cruel Night

Sounds for Sundaze

Hi you busybee musicophiles! My name is Summer and I’m here to bring you the best weekly sounds for your lazy Sundaze. I’ll be sure to give you some subgenre diversity and keep the text brief, so you can get back to enjoying your weekend. Think of it as a Skimm for the best sounds- I keep my ears and eyes open during the week so you don’t have to.

I’ll kick things off with some true Sundaze Sounds, but be prepared: there will be bass music, there will be funk, and maybe even a little hiphop and R&B in the future. Now without further ado, here are some songs from the week:

Niykee Heaton - Infinity (Illenium Remix)

If you don’t already know who Niykee Heaton is, you will, and you are probably going to love her for one reason or another: her music, her unbelievably hot bod, her boss bitch attitude and label, NBK Naturyl Born Killers. Illenium takes the heartfelt single, Infinity, and adds a little melodic bass twist in this remix. I could fuck with it for infinity.

Soulular - Live at CoSM (Set)

This set was mixed back in March at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in upstate New York and was recently released by CoSM. Lucky for us. Soulular combines spacey dub effects and liquid sounds with some soulful harmonies, sexy melodies, and a deep bass. He’s made appearances at festivals like Lightning in a Bottle and Shambhala and should definitely be on your radar. An hour and twenty minutes of quality music for quality people.

Kev. - Your Bed

This song will actually make getting out of bed Monday morning somewhat enjoyable. An alum of the Berklee School of Music in Boston, Kev. pairs a Robin Thicke sample with a nice bass, adds a little wake up call, and gives a shoutout to all significant others’ beds out there. Exacty where I wish I was right now - the ultimate Sundaze Sound.
