ComicFury is one of the only old school webcomic hosting sites still active, with seventeen years of putting its actual community of artists first, including such rarities as a no-ai policy and an active healthy forum with fair and clear moderation.
It's grown a lot in the past year and so needs have grown alongside it, so here I am doing the PBS Style donation drive post, lmao.

Keep in mind this ask is only if you're in a position to support artists and have been wanting to, but ComicFury has been my comics home for years now and I'd like to see it continue to thrive, especially in the current environment of exploitation, censorship, and other abuse webcomickers have to deal with on other platforms. (because guess what, you can show violence and/or tiddy AND swear all you want on ComicFury as long as you properly rate your comic for it.)

I don't reblog much (or post for that matter) but this felt important. We gotta prioritize websites and platforms that care about their users and art in times like these and they could really use some funding right now!
Average Scarlet Hollow dev update is like: Hey everyone Tony and Abby here to let you all know that we're still working in the next chapter. The script is currently 280,000 words long (likely going to be at least 50,000 more by the next update) and the grand total is 1,500,000 words long. This is because we have to account for all the branching pathways that consider literally every little choice you make so we gotta consider what it's like for a comp-sci major living in an apartment with a cat (which they can talk to because of weird powers) that's just been cursed to be 10 years older to interact with a band of rats (which gives you a line of dialogue only maybe 0.1% of players will ever see). Abby has been hard at work drawing 86 new backgrounds and new 827 sprites (yes including the stuff for the gilf and various monster romance routes) and Brandon has made 15 new tracks of the most haunting music you've ever heard. We've been having lots of fun and hope you're all doing well with the wait!!
To me the Black tabby games crew have the same energy as those fanfiction writers that add a note like: "Sorry for the wait! I was hit by a semitruck, and a meteor is currently approaching Earth, but the grind never stops! Anyways here's a 10k long chapter on par with the greatest works of fiction of our time and that will haunt you forever afterward."
Here is Wren! He's one of my original characters and the protagonist of a fantasy story I have in my head.
Wren is a reanimated skeleton, he woke up in the forest with a strange sword in his ribcage and no sign of what or who brought him back to life. He has no memory of his past or how he died.
They set out in the woods, still getting their bearings on the situation but not particularly anxious. They try to befriend birds and other creatures, but the first people they meet run away in fear despite their best attempts... Wren wanders for a long while, unable to get anyone to listen to them, but that all changes when a lost knight hands him a message to deliver on his behalf. This eventually leads to Wren becoming a postman and messenger as he's immune to most types of harm and can travel through dangerous areas, being a skeleton and all. Monsters roam this world and most people are unable to safely get to where they want to deliver, so this leads to Wren bonding with people more and the rest of the story unfolding.
Here is the reference for his sword, a sketch of him before being reanimated, and outfits because he loves dressing up despite not needing clothes.

While I won't reveal what exactly the nature of the sword is and how it ties to Wren yet because I like having a bit of mystery :) I'll still explain a bit of the obvious and known ways it interact with them.
Wren cannot get rid of the sword in his ribcage, if the sword stops touching him in some way his body falls apart and goes back to a normal skeleton state. He can still take it out and hold it or wield it, but it needs to be in contact with him in some way.
The sword also seems to disappear into their ribcage. The inside or their chest cavity isn't see-through like you would expect, instead it holds a potent darkness with an orb of light emanating in the middle, where the sword disappears when put through it. This is also the case for their eyes. Their sockets are pure dark with little lights that act as pupils or eyeballs. This strange darkness and light disappears when the sword is taken too far away from him and he didn't have it before being reanimated, it only seems to be there when Wren and the sword are interacting in some way and Wren is 'alive'.
Wren is also immune to most harm. His bones can break and fracture yes, but they repair said fractures very fast, faster than they would for normal humans. It's like his bones are magneted to each other as long as he's animated, and can heal themselves quickly with a bit of rest. He can fall apart easily if pushed or tossed around but as long as the sword is still in his ribcage he'll just kind of...Stumble back into form if that makes sense.
They can still be harmed and it can hurt if a majority of their bones are broken apart severely, and of course they're completely incapacitated if the sword is taken away from them.
The exception to those rules are the cracks and fracture they got before their reanimation while they were dead and decomposing. Those are permanent and will never go away.
Do you think any of the Princesses might like spicy food? Why or why not?
Really not sure why you asked me out of all people because I never talked about headcanons if i recall and I don't have many
But if you really want my opinion here goes: In the end, canonically it depends on if you PERCIEVE some of the princesses to like spicy food that's the fun thing about slay the princess and the Princess. Any of them could like spicy food if you believe them to or not to.
Personally I think Razor Adversary and Eye of the needle are the most likely to like it. They find pain fun so what better food than food that hurts your mouth?
Damsel would only like it if you want her to like it.
Just wanted to make a text post because I've been inactive for months now but I've had random surges of people liking my stuff. Sadly in case it wasn't obvious slaytober fell through...There's still an empty space in my sketchbook for it in case I want to pick it back up! Perhaps next october or earlier next year if I get the motivation but no promises I'm sorry </3
Also I wanted to clarify that despite me having only posted slay the princess fanart so far this account is actually not intended on being a slay the princess focused account. I'm probably going to post ocs and maybe other fanart. Maybe I'll still post slay the princess (and scarlet hollow since i got the game recently and I love it) once in a while but it's not gonna be the majority of it.
Just wanted to clear all that up cause since it's all I've been posting so far I probably have a few people that followed me purely for slay the princess stuff and in that case I'm really sorry to disappoint! Feel free to stick around if you're curious to see my other stuff and maybe other types of fanart too though.
(Again, sorry if anyone is dissapointed this account was intended to be more personal where I posted whatever I want but Slay the Princess just happened to be what I was hyperfixating on and then Slaytober rolled around)

Sorry I just had to draw her even if quickly and very messily... There is little to no lore yet they won't leave my mind. Big fan of the Chimaera! May write a fan chapter for them one day.
My take on them is that the one in the center is silent and overshadowed by the others. She embraces her multitudes to try and get herself and Long quiet out of the cabin but by doing so she erases her individuality and agency which may prove their doom in the end...
Just another little update post to say that I am back and still working on Slaytober! Fury card is ready and I will probably post it tommorow, just been struggling with catching up and the lighting where I live has been terrible lately due to storms so for traditional art....Yeah. Anyways excited about continuing the oracle even if it will miss some cards for a while hehe
Small announcement to say I'm pausing Slaytober to go on a trip! I can't do every prompt anyway because I haven't played the game throughoutly yet and want to be very familiar with the vessels before doing their card art / meanings >:) I'll get to the ones I skip eventually and post them post october but don't be surprised if I miss some for now (Wild, Prisoner, Den etc). As for the ones I do know enough I'll try to get to them in a week once I'm back! I was hoping to post Fury before I go, but alas she shall wait...

Tower is actually my least favorite Princess... I'm sorry the dominatrix deal she got going on made me so angry first time I played. I got Voice of the Stubborn VERY fast. All that being said I'll admit that she has grown on me quite a bit. I love her design and I saw a few really cool analyses of her. She deserves every piece of fanart for day 5 :) (not my pledge however...)

We are getting into drawing the Princess...A little nervous about the anatomy and especially eyes (they're gonna be the only thing line-arted about her) but I guess we must persist anyways! This one was especially hard because she was quite tiny on my page.

Technically my first piece of art for the upcoming slaytober, even if it hasn't yet begun. I decided to combine two of the things I loved: Slay the Princess and tarot / oracles. In the original tarot, card 0 is associated with The fool. Also considered the 'protagonist' of the deck. What better card and number to associate with our favorite deity of nothingness that we play as?
Sadly I haven't actually seen every princess in the game or haven't explored some of them enough to make an accurate card or portrayal, so there will be a few gaps throughout the upcoming month, but I still really wanted to participate so I'll do my best!
Fun fact: This is the only card in my list that has the same meaning both upright and reversed!
