I was reminded of an old arcade fire song from neon bible and was revisiting that album tonight, it’s crazy that their earlier albums can still evoke so much preteen and teenage emotion for me.. I was listening to them so much ages like 12-14 it’s truly disturbing the turn all that took. I started college in 2015 in montreal and made a friend who was obsessed with them, they were part of the reason she chose to go to school in the city, they were her favourite band all through high school etc etc. win hit her up through instagram dm in our freshman year, it was innocuous at first but devolved pretty quickly especially because he would pop out to parties and events that were populated 90% with college kids and very young scenesters and we would cross paths with him with like semi regularity… he’d be showing up at the durocher lofts and shit. I waited years for that story to finally break after metoo because it truly felt like an open secret in Montreal through the mid-late 2010s that he was socializing hella with college kids and having inappropriate flirtations with tons of 18 year old girls who idolized him on instagram. So insane that they are still making music. Well thinking back on it I didn’t hear much about him post 2017 when they put out that dogshit album everyone hated lol

Last night at 10:30 as I was drifting off into peaceful slumber I suddenly remembered with a jolt of panic that I didn't finish the baby gift I was knitting for my old coworker's baby shower today.. by the time all ends were woven in and baby hat was blocking on the mat it was 1:30am lol. I have been so sleep deprived lately and today I could feel my eyes drift into the middle distance in the middle of conversations like I could FEEL my brain try to shut itself down midsentence

They fledged and left the nest! I'll miss them I loved to gently peek into their little box every day and see how much bigger and more feathered they got
