I just watched I saw the TV glow and while ik enough people have analyzed it here is my take

to be queer is to have 2 versions of self. the first is a mask yet safe and hidden. the second is abstract yet magical and true. to choose the second is to kill the first, but to choose the first is to let both suffocate. killing the first is risky and terrifying but suppressing the second is painful and numbing.
