i do think lobbying for data centres over climate goals should be considered a crime against humanity btw
Ok like. Imagine life without ads. You wake up, check your messages across a variety of apps, no ads. You get up and put on the tv while you prep your breakfast, no ads. Maybe you drive somewhere and switch on the radio, no ads. Maybe you drive a long distance, yet somehow, not a single billboard on your path. You pick up a newspaper or magazine to pass the time, no advertisements only articles. You turn on your game console, the home screen is just about your games, no ads to buy more. You open a streaming app, you don't pay extra for no ads, there's just no ads ever.
Think about how much of your time is spent looking at ads. "Download ublock" yeah I know, I have. But that doesn't change that the world is covered with endless advertising. Imagine never seeing that again. How much better our lives would be.
As Pride Month comes to an end, I just want to remind you that July is Disability Pride Month and there's a flag and everything!

me about a show i really like: the writers are so fucking stupid
people will go onnn about how a man’s flaws makes him so nuanced and interesting and then act genuinely confused when u feel the same way about a woman…
yknow it's really weird that adultism is so normalised if you think about it. everyone either is a kid or was a kid once. do you not remember what being a child was like. do you really look back on your past self and think you were a completely unaware being with no intelligence
Constantly accusing trans women of grooming is particularly heinous because you can use any genuine attempt to help and support others as 'evidence'
Rich People: "Capitalism lifts people out of poverty."
Working Class: "Then lift us out of poverty."
Rich People: "We can't do that. The entire system will crash."
Working Class: "Then what you mean to say is that capitalism depends on poverty."

Slavery…
"Slavery was so long ago. Get over it."
Slavery is literally happening now. Police never stopped being slave catchers. People are supporting it now just like they supported it then.
If you support ICE, you would have supported slavery, because ICE is slavery.
Googled something about quick hydration and it suggested big jug of water, couple tbsp pickle juice, dash of lime juice.
Its surprisingly tasty????
Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.
-ancient roman posca: water, red or white wine vinegar, honey, salt, herbs (coriander, mint, thyme)
-switchel: water, ginger, vinegar, sweetener, lemon, salt
-ayran: yogurt, water, salt, mint
-Agua pepino: water, cucumbers, lime, sugar, optional mint.
I have been reminded of:
-shrub: vinegar, sida water, elderberry (or other berry), sugar.
I have now been informed of
-sekanjabin: honey, vinegar, mint, water.
"Wow, I wonder why this post was popular this week."
-sees the reports of the heatwave in Europe-
"... ah."
I feel like kids would be less "loud/annoying/tantrum prone/whatever the complaint about them is this week" if they weren't forced to live in a world that doesn't treat them like human beings and constantly forced to obey the whims of other people with no consideration for their own thoughts and emotions. And if they weren't actively conscious of this. Blaming kids for occasionally breaking down over their treatment is like blaming women for yelling at their abusive husbands or crying about the sexism inherent in society. It's "the women's disease/hysteria" but directed at children instead of women.
Even if they have genuinely loving families that don't neglect them, which is rare, children are still put under constant abuse from every other aspect of their life. They're living on ultra-mega-hard-mode. Emotions are understandable.
I also completely understand people who can't be around loud children, or who hate it when a kid breaks down crying or screaming in a store or a restaurant. I hate it when a kid breaks down crying or screaming in a restaurant or store. Like, that's not an unreasonable feeling to have when someone is making an uncomfortable amount of noise. I get it. You don't want that kid to be crying or screaming any more than they want to be doing it.
These kids didn't ask to be forced to sit in a fancy restaurant in uncomfortable clothes around people they don't like eating disgusting food for hours. Those kids didn't ask to be hauled around a supermarket looking at things they're not allowed to have. That kid is crying because they're in a situation they don't want to be in, and they probably didn't have any say over how they got there. They've been forced into Situations for probably their entire lives, and sometimes they snap and have breakdowns. Breaking down after the level of constant psychological abuse inherent in modern childhood would be considered normal and understandable for any other age group, but when children do it it's considered irrational and bothersome and annoying. I get that empathy is hard, we're all suffering, but maybe for once try to have some instead of just writing the suffering of children off as too annoying to deal with.
It is kinda sad to see how pretty much any leftism is gonna leave someone's body as soon as you bring up youth liberation, fat liberation, and disability rights.
It is also notable in all three areas that indeed, these three topics are inherently connected.
There's worse to come, folks. Strap in and stay strapped.
Activists accused of being part of antifa get long prison terms in case seen as test of Trump’s crackdown on dissent
this is just truthslop.you believe it because it happens to conform to reality
This is what Republicans sound like
I think the reason why so many struggling people balk at "it gets better" is because of how often that statement plays a role in dismissal instead of being followed by actual support. "It gets better!!! (so we don't actually have to do anything to tangibly help you improve your current situation)"
