You know how much more fun Skyfall is if Mallory and Tanner are in a long term relationship.

Nobody knows they're together (not even Mansfield) and everytime they're in the same room together, they're acting as if they don't know each other. It's even better when Mallory is mad at Mansfield and Tanner is obviously there for his boss but he's laughing on the inside because his partner is yelling at his boss. Bill having to protect Mansfield while he wants to run to Gareth because he just got shot. Bill going behind Gareths back to make sure Silva finds Mansfield makes Gareth respect his partner even more.

And then the long talk they have about Gareth becoming M and what it would change for them considering he would become Bills boss and how harder it would be for them to hide their relationship. But in the end they're both happy where they end up because they'll see each other the whole day and they wont have to keep secrets from each other anymore.
