I’m tired of having to explain or express my trauma to people just for them to say i’m lying about it or to make me feel like it’s my fault that it happened.
I’m tired of having to make my personality smaller or water myself down outta fear of being labeled as ghetto, loud, extra, etc.
I’m tired of having to be the bigger person even when people disrespect me or treat me in a way that I feel is unfair because then if I express anger or disdain with someone/something, then I immediately become a stereotype.
I’m tired of being abused or assaulted mentally, verbally, sexually, financially and spiritually by men, especially black men.
I’m tired of being thrown aside as a last choice but then being expected to step to the front lines and fight for everyone else when they don’t give a damn about me.
I’m tired of having to work 10x harder than my non black counterparts just to get less than half of the same benefits/pay.
I’m tired of always having to be strong and have my guard up when I just want to be able to relax, be stress free and be taken care of for a change.
honestly, i could go on and on but I’d be here for days.
And notice the potato doesn’t guilt you with “if you don’t, something horrible will happen.” Potato wouldn’t betray you like that, because potato is a refined person of good humor and character, and understands that, sometimes, a visit to your dashboard just isn’t convenient right now. Sometimes you just went on a fandom gif reblogging spree or your energy is low, you do not have the time to make your dashboard suitable to guests, and a polite visit just isn’t in the cards. Potato understands this, and doesn’t get upset, or gods forbid, throws a tantrum and wishes ill on your household. Instead, Potato merely stores away their blessings for a later visit and leaves as a good friend should.
fuck it, i never ever do those “reblog for X, this one really works!” posts, but this one doesn’t have any of that BS, this is just straight up wishing us good things; and then the comment doesn’t even say any of that either. Zero claims on this post, all positive vibes
May you end this week feeling ever more certain of a future you’ll love

Imagine being Embry’s imprint and tagging along with the wolves to their newborn training session. However, you’re always in for an unexpected surprise when you’re around Bella..
Under normal circumstances, Jasper is a very patient young man. Combat taught him the importance of it, as having none could have meant certain death. He uses it daily in order to control his bloodlust around humans. Although it has gotten easier over the years, it is still a daily struggle for him. He also has to have some when using his empath abilities, otherwise he can wear himself out.
All of that self-control went out the window, the second he realized what he had done. It took every ounce of his patience for him NOT to go after you, to at the very least, to apologize to you. He already felt guilty, ashamed for putting you into this mess in the first place. Now, he had physically hurt you–badly.
The minute the wolves disappeared into the trees, he felt himself get tossed onto the ground once more, albeit gentler this time.
“WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? You are LUCKY that the dog got to you first because how dare you?” The ice blonde hair easily identified his second attacker as he rose to his feet once again.
Now standing upright, Jasper now notices his entire family is now present and looking at him. The wooden back porch was destroyed– a small broken piece of wood that was hanging on for dear life came crashing to the ground.
It was then he realized he was in some deep shit.
The silence was broken only when Carlisle spoke in a stern, yet ambivalent tone, “Family meeting. Living room. Now.”
—
“Jasper, dear,” Esme begins after everyone is seated in the living room, taking her place next to her husband. “Care to explain why we had to break up a fight between you and a wolf or why my brand new porch is destroyed?” She raises an eyebrow.
Sighing, he starts. “I ended up telling (YN) the truth. Embry came back and overheard our conversation. He phased and charged at me while (YN) was standing in front of me.” The ladies perked up at this. “I knocked her out of the way, probably into the porch railing accidentally, before Embry and I fought-”
“And so the porch was no more.” Emmett interjected, slightly amused. He groans as Rosalie elbows him in his side.
After glaring at his brother, Jasper continues. “Yes, then by the time you pulled us apart she was gone. Rosalie let her leave.” Confused, everyone turns to her.
“Wait a second,” Rosalie defends. “I also wanted her to stay to let Carlisle have a look at her. But I couldn’t convince her. She was petrified, I had to let her go. I had Emmett tail her home just to make sure she made it alright.” Her husband nodded in confirmation.
“If we made her stay, she still would’ve ran anyway, trust me.” Feeling slight daggers coming from her blonde “twin” brother, she turns to him.
“Regardless of how much you want to nitpick at my actions, it still wasn’t me that threw her off the porch.” Ouch.
Sensing the rising tension in the room, Carlisle interjects. “Rosalie. That’s enough. But you also have a point.” He sighs, running a hand down his face.
“How bad was she injured ?” Edward chimes in, crossing his arms leaning against the wall.
“She wasn’t looking too good. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing.” Looking at the inner turmoil on her brother’s face, Rosalie's tone softens.
“The mutts aren’t going to be too happy about this.”
“Can you blame them? Eddie over here has Jake to deal with. Now, at least from their perspective, Jas is trying to steal Embry’s girl. You’re violating bro code in every way possible.” Emmett shakes his head.
“Regardless, I still have to talk to her and figure out what’s going on. At least to apologize. I can’t just sit back here and do nothing. Or pretend like nothing happened.” Alice put a hand on her mate's shoulder.
“And that, you are right. But you have to give her some time, let her come to you and not a moment sooner. Your individual choices are now impacting all of us. Peace between us and the wolves is critical, especially with the newborns and Victoria on the horizon. We’re not doing ourselves any favors at this point. “ Esme glances at her husband, nodding in agreement with her..
“What happened in the woods? Did you find anything?” Jasper inquires, completely forgetting the whole newborn issue for a moment.
“A couple of stray newborns. Found the one that broke into (Y/N)’s house. We’re in the clear. At least for now.” Carlisle turns to Jasper.
“I understand your personal feelings, however, you need to tread lightly with this. It is clear that we’re going to have to deal with these newborns sooner rather than later. Messing with soul bonds is literally playing with fire. After all, that's also the reason Victoria is even an issue in the first place.”
He turns to look at his youngest son. “The same goes for you too, Edward.”
“And to that, here’s what is going to happen. Jasper, you will leave (YN) alone until she reaches out to you and not a moment sooner. The rest of us will continue to be on silent rotation at Bella’s and (YN)’s houses, until she decides to continue coming around.
Jasper opens his mouth to speak but is easily silenced with a look from Rosalie.
“In the meantime, you will be rebuilding my porch. I just got it done.” Emmett sighs
“I’ll get the wood.”
And so he did. Although the temptation was killing him, he had to admit having the distraction of putting the porch together did occupy him for a couple of days.
Well that, along with the watchful eye of Emmett and glares of Rosalie. Carlisle stopped by just to check in on you, as he knew good and well you weren't going to a hospital. Even Edward intruded on his thoughts from time to time, to keep him in line.
One thing Jasper had to admit was that he was impressed that everyone else was, to varying degrees, protective of you, even from himself. Bella was not even accepted this fast by everyone. Rosalie STILL hadn’t fully come around with her yet. At least if you ever decided to join the family, you would fit in just fine.
But that was wishful thinking on his part. At least for now.
The other thing that had him on edge was, eventually, he needed to talk to Alice. She had left a couple of days ago and she didn’t tell him where. But knowing his partner, he knew that a conversation would need to be had as soon as she returned—
Every time I see a twilight or tvd long x reader fic I get excited and then the name is like
" the other Swan"
" the forgotten Gilbert"
" the secret Mikaelson"
take your ass back to Wattpad because that shit is LAZY.
No adoption mentioned either, which could create such a nice explanation and allow us POC readers to feel like we're not immediately excluded.
And the lack of racial/ethnic diversity, where is your imagination? You could literally craft an entire plot about how your mc has come to be involved with these characters and that's what you go with?
And the mc doesn't have to somehow be more powerful than every other powerful character like, they can just be strong and powerful enough to hold their own y'know?
ALL OF THIS. I’ve been FED UP with this especially from Twilight fanfics. This is EXACTLY why the story I’m writing now is an ADOPTED BLACK SIBILING of mc to explore that dynamic and everything that comes with it…

A/N: Hiya everyone! We're baack with another installment. School just started back for me and it's been kicking my butt so apologies for any delays. This part changes focus a little from the main character and is little bit of a filler, but rest assured it's getting juicy... Enjoy! Cheers!

Unfortunately she was right. The wound was deeper than anticipated. No wonder why it was hard for you to stop the bleeding. As much as you cared for him, you were silently cursing Embry and Jasper every which way.
Damn superhuman strength.
Not even fifteen minutes after she walked in the door, Emily had your wound disinfected, helped clean you up, and even started heating up leftovers she brought over. Bless this woman.
“Just one more stitch, I’m almost done, hon. Hang in there.” You winced in pain as she covers up your fresh stitches with a bandage dressing.
“I at LEAST owe one of them a slap for the fight. This is crazy.” Sitting up gently from the living room couch, Emily helps you into the kitchen.
“Deal.” She pulls out a small bottle of vodka from her bag with two shot glasses and places them on the counter. You raise an eyebrow, smirking.
“This is JUST for now until I can get you some painkillers tomorrow. Unfortunately, you’re out of Tylenol and the drugstores are closed.” She shrugs her shoulders at your slight shock and amusement.
“Being an ex-nurse has its perks. Food’s almost done, you hungry?”
——
After finishing up eating and graciously accepting the little alcohol. It was only then you remembered the days earlier events.
As much as you wanted some time, you thanked your lucky stars that the one person you probably needed showed up at your doorstep.
“Sorry about how I answered the door earlier.” Sheepishly, you start to look down at your kitchen floor.
“Nothing to apologize for. Sam told me everything that happened and I came straight over and don’t worry, they don’t know I’m here.”
“I appreciate it. How’s Embry holding up?” Sighing heavily, Emily places her plate and yours in the dishwasher.
“Sam, myself, and their partners let him have it after finding out he hurt you. Is he justified in his anger, yes, but he shouldn’t have let it get the best of him.” At this, you bury your face in your hands. This is such a mess. You didn’t mean to cause any of it.
You hear her shuffle to sit next to you as she gently pulls your hands from your face.
“Hey, NONE of this is your fault. You never asked to be in this situation. The only people at fault here are Embry and Jasper. Jasper chose to keep it from you and both of them hurt you. As much as I love the pack, they do not get to decide anything for their imprints, especially after they hurt them.” It was then you looked up at her. The fluorescent light of the kitchen made the darkness outside look endless. For the first time, at least to you, her scar was more prominent on her skin.
“I made the choice to stay with Sam, but you don’t have to. As much as I’m not a big fan of the vampires, I value yours, and the other imprints, well-being above all else.” She pats your shoulder.
“Now, for the most important question, Comedy or Rom-com?”

Imagine being Embry’s imprint and tagging along with the wolves to their newborn training session. However, you’re always in for an unexpected surprise when you’re around Bella..
“Take your filthy hands off her.” You turned toward your imprinter, slowly, and began to walk toward him.
“Embry, let me explain. How much did you hear?”
“Enough to know this bloodsucker thinks he has some claim to you. I knew something was going to happen the more you were around them!” His voice escalates, now beginning to echo through the forest.
Embry was never the type to really lose his temper. He was one of the most even natured members of the pack, so to see him like this was terrifying.
“She did not know, Embry. You have a right to be upset, but if you’re going to take your anger out on someone, take it out on me. I’m the one to blame.” Jasper rationalizes, as he steps in front of you slowly, never once taking his eyes off of the shifter about 10 feet away from him. For a moment, you forgot all about him.
He pushes you behind him as he continues, “Leave (Y/N) out of this and let’s talk about this rationally..” You flinch internally. Wrong button.
“We wouldn’t be in this situation if it wasn’t for you! You don’t tell me what to do!” Leave it to Embry to still think clearly and make logical sense, even while pissed.
And before you could blink, a slender, giant wolf sits directly in front of it, teeth bared and ready to pounce. Then, he charges–making a beeline straight for Jasper -with you still standing directly behind him.
Oh, shit.
Suddenly, the wind is being knocked out of you as you're pushed to the side. You feel yourself hit something hard before rolling down something else, you presume stairs, before coming to a stop.
With half-lidded eyes, you can see both Embry, in shifter form, and Jasper duking it out in the Cullen's own backyard. You honestly couldn’t say a damn thing because what reaction did you expect to this situation? The only thing you could hope for was that they didn’t kill each other-or you.
You feel yourself gently being lifted to your feet by ice cold, dainty hands. After your vision begins to focus, you recognize your savior by their familiar long, blonde hair.
“Are you alright, (Y/N)? Are you hurt?” Rosalie inquires, as she visually inspects you for injuries.
You notice the rest of the Cullen’s and the wolves, attempting to pull back each respective member of their clan and stop the fight. Watching this spectacle, pure adrenaline kicks in for you and you do the only thing your instincts tell you to:
Run.
“I gotta get out of here. Everything’s a mess!”
“Are you sure? I think Carlisle should take a-.”
“No. I got to go. I can’t stay here.” Something in your tone, this time, resonates with her and she drops her grip on you.
Reluctantly, she nods in understanding. You return it, affirming her silent plea that you’ll let her know you’re alright. With that, you take off to the front of the house, heading for your car. Hopping in and starting the engine, you speed off–leaving the ensuing chaos behind you. At least, for now.
—-
After Rosalie loses sight of you, and hears the screech of your tires. Her patient demeanor she had with you drops entirely when she turns back toward the commotion.
If there was one thing she could not stand, afterlife or otherwise, is women being hurt because of men’s ego and shenanigans. She also grew to like you and, if nothing else, respected the fact that you did not let any of these supernatural men run circles around you–unlike Bella.
“BREAK. IT. UP!” Channeling her rage, she speeds over toward the commotion barreling toward both her brother and the shifter, sending them flying in opposite directions like bowling pins.
This sudden distraction gives her family and the pack the opening they need to pull their members back entirely, finally ending the brawl.
Esme sighed looking at her now destroyed back porch. What a mess.
–
The ride home was a blur to you. Not even the dash of the forest on Jasper’s back could compare, and that was saying something. About five minutes after you left, your phone starts buzzing constantly. Even when you walk in the door, it’s still buzzing. But after texting confirmation to Rosalie you toss it somewhere, ignoring it entirely.
Thank goodness your parents were downstate at a conference and didn’t have to explain why you looked like who did it and why. Flipping on the light in your bathroom, you take stock of your physical appearance: Your usual put together hair was all over the place. Bloodshot eyes replaced your vibrant (y/e/c) ones. Your clothes had slight tears in them, barely concealing the long bruise and now bleeding cuts on your side, ending mid-back. Now the adrenaline is wearing off you started to feel EVERYTHING.
You didn’t recognize who was staring back at you.
Biting back tears, you start to pull out the rubbing alcohol and gauze from the first aid kit. Never in your life had you ever felt so out of control, so fragile, so vulnerable.
And you hated it.
Maybe it was misplaced, but for right now you wanted no reminders of anything or anyone that made you feel the way you do right now. You couldn’t let anyone see you cry. You wouldn’t let anyone see you cry.
At least that you could control.
Hearing a knock at the door broke you from your concentration. Didn’t the unanswered phone calls for the whole day give them the hint: You didn’t want to see ANYONE right now. Whoever was at the door was going to get it.
Carefully, you maneuver yourself downstairs to not irritate your cut even more.
“Didn’t I make it clear that I wanted to be alone? Why can’t you give me space?” Throwing open the door, the last person you expected to see stood there at your doorstep.
“Because it looks like you need stitches and I know you’re not going to a hospital.”

Imagine being Embry’s imprint and tagging along with the wolves to their newborn training session. However, you’re always in for an unexpected surprise when you’re around Bella..
__
Never were you the adrenaline junkie type. If your two feet were not able to stay on the ground, you did not participate.
But damn. You would be lying if you said you didn’t enjoy the experience, just a little.
Curse your newfound curiosity.
Or maybe, being in Jasper’s arms is what made it more enjoyable.
What the hell? You barely know this pale-ass dude.
It is when your hair stops moving that you start to tune back into your surroundings. Clinging to Jasper akin to a koala bear, eyes still shut, you meekly ask,
“Are we there yet?”
“I stopped moving a few minutes ago.” Crap.
Popping one eye open, you see the Cullen house directly in front of you. Looking up at him, you notice he is looking down at you, slightly smirking. Coughing, you signal him to put down. He does, gently and you stand in silence for a moment.
“You alright? I know reaching high speeds like that can affect humans pretty bad.” No shit sherlock.
“I’m fine. Thank you for the, um, ride.” You shuffle your feet while studying your now slightly-dirty shoes.
Then you suddenly remember the potentially dangerous situation you’re in-the anxiety slowly kicking back in. Jasper checks his surroundings, then gestures for you to move up the front porch steps.
“My pleasure. Let’s get you inside. After you.”
–
Jasper Whitlock was a pale, ex-confederate, undead, man of few words. He has seen mostly wars and death in his human and afterlife. Peace and normalcy was a foreign concept to him, until he ran into Carlisle. He never would have chosen this life for himself, but then again, he never knew his current life was even possible until was in it.
You, on the other hand, were the complete opposite of him.
From the day he saw you, he couldn’t get you out of his head. At first, it was pure curiosity. You were one of the few interesting humans he had met in his time that actually presented a mental challenge for him.
Although he couldn’t directly read minds like his brother, Jasper could easily deduce what people were thinking based on their feelings–enhanced by his empath abilities, no doubt. When it came to you, however, he could not sense a thing. If he could put a color to every emotion he sensed, yours would always be grey- neutral.
Educated guesses were always made on his part, but you still managed to catch him off guard and did something different. A literal wild card.
The day you were partnered with him on some random school project, he began to notice your intelligence and convictions. He was impressed at your ability to keep Bella’s dangerous moves in check while keeping your personal boundaries. It reminded him of some of the people in his past he had lost long ago. It was then, you had gained his respect.
Slowly, Bella started bringing you around their house more often. At the time, it was mostly a cover for him and his siblings to investigate newborn activity, especially after one broke into your house. When he was around, outside of class, Jasper kept his distance, mostly for your comfort level.
Then, he noticed Bella’s or any human’s scent did not affect him as much anymore when you were around. After a few times, he realized something peculiar: you were the only human that didn’t stir his bloodlust, either.
Miraculously, you actually had seemed to quell it.
It was when Alice and his family confronted him on the possibility of you being his blood singer, he considered that he might have felt something more than just friendly admiration for you. Carlisle let him know only blood singers have this much of an affect on vampires like this.
But Jasper wasn’t having any of it.
At first, he denied it, immensely. Although he was intrigued by you, you didn’t seem to have the exact same affect on him the way Bella did with Edward. He had and was more than content with Alice.
He especially didn’t think it was possible when he found out Embry had imprinted on you. He had abandoned the idea entirely. There’s no way a shifter, let alone their imprint, would have any involvement with the vampires. They were sworn enemies after all.
So, he did the only thing he could do- kept his distance. The last thing that needed to happen was the pot to be stirred at a time where their alliances were critical. Besides, you seemed happy with Embry. Unlike his brother’s situation, he didn’t want to turn your whole life upside-down for a silly school yard crush—
And that was that for him.
Until Alice told him for the first time that she saw you in his future the day they trained with the wolves. In what capacity, she didn’t know. What was certain was that you were going to be involved with the Cullen’s for the foreseeable future, whether anyone wanted or not. She also knew Jasper well enough to know that you meant something to him.
She didn’t have to be a clairvoyant to know that.
Regardless, you could not make any decisions until he actually told you. The women were right that it wasn’t fair of him to keep everything to himself, especially when that meant putting you in more danger. Blood singer or otherwise, he couldn’t subject anyone he cared about to that. Not on his watch.
It was at that moment, he realized he had feelings for you—though he hated to admit it.
As you sat in the massive kitchen, the silence became deafening. You could tell he was deep in thought about something and, at first, you thought it was from today’s events.
Until he looked at you the way he did today.
He was keeping something from you and you were determined to find out what it is.
Penny for your thoughts? You’ve been quiet the whole way over.” Breaking the silence, you take a sip from your glass of water.
“Well we were running over 70 miles an hour.” You had to keep from facepalming yourself.
“Are you hungry? We have some leftovers from the other day still in the fridge.” He starts to cross the kitchen. You were starving and those leftovers did sound good at the moment, but you were persistent.
“Yes, but you still didn’t answer my question.”
“Just still on guard and keeping an eye out for any newborns is all.” And the lie detector test determined that was BS.
He starts to open the containers when you stop him, placing your hand over his.
“Jasper what aren’t you telling me? If it’s something about the newborns, you could tell me. At this point, nothing you can tell me will shock me too much.” He sighs.
“Not even if I told you that you are my bloodsinger.” Cue the glass in your hand dropping to the floor.
You and your big ass mouth. You did the only thing you could do at a time like this:
Freak the hell out.
“Wait a damn minute. How can that be? You already have Alice!”
“Yes, but it’s possible for a vampire to have multiple blood singers in their time as we live well—forever. It’s sort of rare but it happens.” Smartass.
“Okay, let’s say I buy that. But I’m also a shifter’s imprint. How the hell can I also be a vampire’s bloodsinger? Isn’t that like impossible?”
“Honestly, I don’t really know. No one really does. Carlisle guesses that the imprint bond could have altered the usual signs of a singer. ”
“How come Alice didn’t see it sooner?”
“Maybe you being an imprint blocked her from seeing your future. Or you could have the same neutralizing affect on her abilities as you do mine. Who knows? What we do know is that she saw you in my future, and as complicated as it sounds, you affect me as Alice did before she was turned. Unfortunately, she’s never wrong.”
At this point, you’re pacing back and forth, trying so hard not to lose your shit completely.
“What am I going to do? What happens now?” What about Embry?
It would be just your damn luck as you are just starting to somewhat feel content about your bond with Embry, you now have a tie to not one-- but two creatures of the supernatural.
“Hey, hey, hey, he stops you, gently gripping your forearms and turning you around to face him. You didn’t even hear him come behind you. Damn vampire stealth.
“Let me stop you right there. This will be whatever you want it to be-or lack thereof. Although I can’t lie and say I don’t have feelings for you, I will not push or force anything. Just like anything else, we take it day by day. We will figure it out. I will be right beside you, only if you want me to be, (yn).” He pushes a coily strand behind your ear as you look up at him.
This time you actually get a good look at Jasper. His blonde hair was a bit messy, but framed his sculpted face perfectly. Against his porcelain skin, his eyes almost glowed. You noticed they were a little more gold than usual, most likely from his recent hunt.
Now by this point, two things were going through your head:
Good god. This man was fine.
You were in some deep shit.
A deep, guttural growl snaps you from your trance. Whipping your head around, you see the large, glass pane door, wide open and a familiar native boy standing in front of it. And he is livid.

Imagine being Embry’s imprint and tagging along with the wolves to their newborn training session. However, you’re always in for an unexpected surprise when you’re around Bella..
People had a lot of different opinions when it came to you. There was one trait, everyone seemed to agree that you possessed:
You were a skeptic.
Hell, you didn’t even really believe in the Easter bunny or Santa Claus when you were a kid. Magic? Please. Vampires and wolves, no such thing.
You should’ve known when your family moved to a sleepy ass town straight out of a mystery novel you would be wrong. Dead ass wrong. When the new girl, Bella, befriended you, normal flew out of the window the same time she did last year.
She dragged you to La Push after the Cullen’s had left the prior year. It was there you were introduced to Jacob, Quil and Embry. You instantly took a liking to La Push, the boys -and particularly Embry. Unexpectedly, they took a liking to you too.
From then on, you found yourself gravitating more towards the reservation; the tranquil beaches reminding you of your previous Floridan home. You just felt a connection there that you couldn’t quite put your finger on.
She also dragged you to Jacob’s house after HE stopped talking to her.
It was at this point you honestly had to question what this girl was doing to cause people to run away from her like the plague. I mean it wasn’t just a few, but groups of people seemed to just up and cut off ties with her, seemingly overnight
However, after quickly realizing her propensity for sticking her nose in places she probably shouldn’t, it started to make a little more sense. Though, you would be lying if you said that you weren't a tiny bit curious as to what exactly she stumbled upon.
A group of people that could secretly shift into giant wolves was not at all on that list of possibilities.
You being an imprint to one of those shifters? Never even dreamed about it.
Although, you weren't too upset at the unexpected revelation this time.
She dragged you to the Cullen’s when they returned a few months ago. Outside of Bella’s tales of her interactions with them, you didn’t really hang around or know much about them. You had a few of the members in your class and one of them as a science lab partner a few months back. They were slightly off and distant at first but after you got to a place of polite conversation, you chalked it up to just shyness. When you found out they were vampires, naturally, you didn’t believe her– until you found out about the wolves.
Suddenly, their isolation and behavior made sense. After that, you never really looked at them the same.
Knowing both vampires and shifters even existed in itself was a shock. Learning about their sheer abilities was slightly terrifying. You’d be lying if you said being around them didn’t make you feel a little more..vulnerable. Although Bella felt differently, you didn’t like that if things went left for whatever reason, you could be snapped into two with zero hesitation. The only way you could gain any control over this is by immersing yourself into the world of the supernatural at your pace.
It is why when Embry told you you were his imprint, as much as you liked him, you still kept a little distance. Him and the pack understood- never pushing you past your comfort level. Although Emily, and the other imprints at times, playing referee before things ever got out of control, have a major hand in that outcome you suspect.
Since you lived in Forks, Embry and the pack were away during the day, unless you came to the reservation. You were the only outsider, aside from Bella, that knew both of their secrets. So when she fucked around and found out with Victoria and a newborn broke into your house–you found yourself spending more time at the Cullen's house. Or more accurately, dragged there.
The first few times, it was a little awkward. But after a few visits, they actually started warming up to you and vice versa. Alice gossiped with you from day one–asking you questions about your hair and even complimenting your appearance. You shot the breeze with Emmett about sports. Hell, even Rosalie had warmed up to you a little, much to yours and Bella’s shock. By your third visit, they cooked you dinner.
You had to admit a three hundred-something year old vampire making a pasta dinner from an old ass cookbook was a pretty amusing site. They were actually pretty damn good cooks too.
Embry and the pack were not happy about this, but he knew better than to try and tell you what to do. With all of the newborn activity, there was only so much he could do. He took some solace with the fact others were looking out for you when he was not around. It would be a cold day in hell before he let his pride keep you from being safe--even if it meant dealing with his sworn enemies. Besides, the more comfortable you had gotten around the Cullen's, the closer you got to him and the pack: A bonus in his eyes.
Regardless of your apprehensions, nothing could be solved if you buried your head in the sand and pretended none of this existed. Whether you liked it or not, yours and Bella’s fates were intertwined. At the very least, you figured you could keep an eye on her to make sure she didn’t get herself, others or you into deeper trouble --or worse.
When she asked you to go with her to the field and watch them train, you obliged. Hopping from the backseat of Edward’s volvo, you slammed the door shut behind you. Bella emerged from the passenger side shortly after and fell into step next to you. You parked yourself on the sidelines of the clearing, far enough away from the action, but close enough to see and hear what was going on.
Not too long after, the shifters, in all their glory, emerged from the trees. Two of them split off from the group and headed toward you and Bella. The slightly smaller, slender one sniffed and circled around you.
“I’m fine, Embry.” You affirmed, chuckling softly. He nuzzled his snout into your palm, and let you scratch behind his ears before running off to join the others, Jacob in tow behind him. All you could do was hold your breath and hope they could play nice for a few hours, as Carlisle stepped up and took his place in front of the pack, Edward slightly behind him.
~
To your amazement, it actually went way better than anticipated. You actually chuckled a few times when Emmett pummeled Edward several times and Alice had gotten the upper hand on Rosalie. Even Carlisle had a few tricks up his sleeve. For a centuries old vampire, he had some moves.
Everything was just about to wrap up, when you saw a few of the wolves perking their heads up in alert. When the Cullen’s stopped mid-stride, turning their heads into the clearing, you started to grow concerned. Embry was next to you in an instant, staring at the clearing, slightly growling.. You were about to ask what was going on when Edward finally spoke.
“The pack has heard something in the woods and Sam is asking if we could assist them. I let them know that we will and will be right behind them. In the meantime, we need to get Bella and YN out of here.” He translates, heading toward Bella. As if on cue, the pack disappears into the woods, Embry the last one behind. Edward looks at him.
“Esme, Jasper and myself will take Bella and YN back to the house. You are more than welcome to stop by there after the coast is clear. She will be safe.” You can hear him snarl slightly beside you, until you console him.
“I will be okay. I’ll see you after,” you assure him, patting his head for good measure. Somewhat satisfied at your response, he starts off toward the trees.. Embry turns around, takes one last look at you and the Cullen’s now beside you, then disappears into the clearing. It was as if he was saying, “Take care of her or, I’m coming after you next..”
You didn’t have to be Edward to know that.
Once the rest of the coven had taken off with Embry, Esme wasted no time directing her sons.
“We need to split them up in case someone decides to tail us. Edward and I are going to take Bella the long way back to the house. You take YN back as fast as you can. We will trail you until about halfway, then diverge into a different direction.” Before you could protest, Edward was already shutting the door to his passenger seat, Bella already inside.
“You’ll be back before you know it. We’ll be right behind you.” She squeezes your hand in reassurance.
Jasper then looks at you for a second, and your rising anxiety dampers for a bit. You chalked it up to his abilities, before he instructed you.
“It will be easier and faster if I can carry you. Keep your eyes closed, count backwards from 100, and hold onto me as tight as you can. Don’t worry about hurting me. Trust me on this one.” He gently touched your arm in comfort, goosebumps left behind in the wake of his touch.
Japer Whitlock was a man of few words, but when he spoke it was hard not to listen. For whatever reason, you actually believed him.
As soon as you were in his arms, Jasper was off. Esme, Bella and Edward were right on your tail before they approached a fork in the road, just as Esme said, and veered off into another direction.
~
Bella might have been oblivious to many things but this was not one of them. As soon as Edward got into the car, she questioned him. The green trees surrounding them turning into blurs as they whizzed passed them.
“What was that all about?” Her significant other remains silent as he speeds up slightly, trying to keep Esme’s pace.
“He looked at her, the way you did with me when we first met..” She trails off in realization.
“You don’t think..”
“As unorthodox as it sounds, yes. That’s exactly what it is. Alice didn’t even see this coming.” He sighs, stunning her into silence.
Edward knew exactly how you felt about the life of the supernatural. If he’s being honest, he wants the same type of normalcy for Bella, despite her desires otherwise. He has seen many things in his afterlife that he did not want her to have to go through, if he could help that. It was very rare that he did not know something due to his mind reading abilities or general knowledge.
Yet, the reasoning as to how a shifter’s imprint could also be a blood singer eluded him entirely.
For the second time these past few years, Edward was at a loss. He did not think it was possible. Even Carlisle has never seen something like this in his extensive afterlife.
He is even more at a loss as to how Jasper will break this to you. The one thing that is clear is the more he keeps it a secret, the more danger he’ll put you in. Although he loved his brother, you became his good friend. He hated too see anyone he cared about in unnecessary danger. So, he gave Jasper an ultimatum: he tells you or someone else will.
This was unexpected and unnatural even, but it was the truth nonetheless.
For a human that wanted little to do with the supernatural, you were now going to be at the center of it.
The bitter irony, he thought as he continued dashing through the trees in the seemingly endless forest.
Confessions and Connections (Jacob Black x Black!Reader)
A/N: HAPPY NEW YEAR LOVLIES! As part of my new year’s resolution, I’ve decided to updated and post more of these stories. It also helps that it’s the colder winter season and again have been inside re-watching and envisioning twilight lol. I’ve received a lot of encouragement as well to continue also, so thank you to everyone who reads and supports. There isn’t a lot of twilight fics with readers of color (specifically black females ones) in mind (like me), so this one is for you!
Let me know if you want me to continue this..
Thanks for all the support and love! More to come soon!
Cheers!

Imagine visiting Bella in Forks for the first time in years and stumbling into something more than you could’ve bargained for.
Life has taught you to do many things; some through necessity, others through experience. There was one lesson, however, you instinctively always knew,
Things were not always as they seemed.
Time and time again, you were proven right. Even your own family was the embodiment of that statement. However, you had a close relationship with them even though you hadn’t seen them for quite some time due to college. You missed them though, dearly.
It’s why after one frantic phone call, you found yourself, temporarily trading in the sunshine and heat of Arizona for the greenery and perpetual rain of Washington state.
As you jump into a taxi and head to the Swan house, you replay the last conversation you had with Charlie a few days ago. Recalling how confused and helpless he sounded about Bella.
Bella was already gone when you checked outside. However, you had an idea of where she would be, as you would go there too. You just hoped that the Black’s would still recognize you after all this time. After all, the last time you were here you were eleven years old.
Bella’s truck was in the driveway by the time you arrived. You pull behind her and hop out. Just when you’re about to knock on the front door, you hear shouting coming from the backyard.
As you slowly make your way around the side of the house, a sinking feeling starts to grow in the pit of your stomach.
A group of shirtless guys all standing together just off the porch come into view staring at this one shorter girl, who you guess is Bella. Under normal circumstances, you’d probably be checking them out. That's when you notice her and one of the taller guys having a heated exchange.
You can’t make out what they’re saying, but you can deduce it couldn’t be anything good when you watch her pull her hand back and punch the tall guy in the face.
Has she lost her mind?! What’s gotten into her?
You silently gasp as you watch her recoil in pain, and watch as the guy look like he’s about to pounce on her. When the tall dude begins to charge at her, and she starts to hightail it out of there, that’s when you start running toward her, calling her name.
She looks up and instantly recognizes you, shock crossing her face for a quick moment., “(y/n), run!”
As soon as she yells that, she trips and falls. Internally facepalming, you grab her hand, pulling her to you quickly. Not daring to look up at the approaching sound of pounding feet not far away from you, you’re about to pull Bella along and start running again, when another voice calls her name from behind you.
You whip your head around in time to see another guy jump over the porch and morph into a wolf as soon as he hits the ground in front of you and Bella. He stops the other guy–now a wolf— dead in its tracks mere feet from where you were and they begin to fight.
As you watch these two giant ass wolves begin to duke it out, you can’t say a damn thing. You’re suddenly pulled from the ground (and your trance), away from the wolves by one of the guys you saw earlier toward the house.
The moment you get inside, you and Bella are let go. Before you can say anything, she starts.
“(y/n), what are you doing here?” She genuinely looked shocked, but also irritated.
After what you just saw, you didn’t have the patience for all of the nonsense.
“The more important question is, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!” You shout, throwing your arms in the air.
“I came over here to talk to you, only to find you yelling and pimp slapping a shirtless dude, who by the way turns INTO A GODDAMN WOLF. HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND? WHAT IN THE WORLD DID YOU GET YOURSELF INTO?” You probably looked all types of crazy, but you didn’t give a damn.
“Hello to you too, sis.” She responds, anxiously. You mentally facepalm yourself.
Typical Bella. Always getting herself into trouble and underestimating the danger she’s in.
“Hold up. You two are sisters?” The younger shirtless guy interjects, reminding you that you had an audience.
“I kind of find that hard to believe.” Another guy pipes up.
“Step-sister. And said the giant wolf.” You mutter, absentmindedly. Another guy snickers.
“Ok, somebody better start talking or we’re going to have some issues.” You glance around the room waiting. Everyone looks nervous until someone rolls in from the kitchen. You recognize him instantly.
“Sam will be able to give you the answers when he gets back with the others. I know this must be a lot to take in, since it’s been a while. Nice to see you kiddo.” He smiles at you softly.
“Nice to see you too, Mr. Black.” You return it. Feeling a little more at ease, you take a seat at across from your sister.
Mr. Black has always been like an uncle to you. Even after Bella stopped visiting Forks before she moved here, you still visited when you could during the summer up until you left for college a few years back. He even sent postcards sometimes while you were away.
The door opens and you hear voices and footsteps. The two guys you saw fighting earlier come into view, the largest one of them all following behind them. The one that was pimped-slapped apologizes sheepishly first and the second guy opens his mouth to say something when he stops midway when he meets your gaze.
This guy you recognized though.
“Jacob?” You managed to get out, barely above whisper. An overwhelming feeling of desire suddenly rushes over you. You take in his appearance of his now shorter hair and larger frame, silently thanking whatever was responsible for his apparent glow up. Secretly, you had a thing for him, but he always had a thing for your sister, so you left that alone.
“H-Hey (y/n). You look-different.” He sputters out, nervously.
“So do you. Last time I saw you, you had hair longer than mine.” You smile, slightly without breaking the gaze. For a second time, you forget about everything–almost.
“Oh, shit.” Someone mutters.
“Jake, take them back to Emily’s.” You break the gaze, the larger one commands from coming from behind Jake.
What the hell did you get yourself into?
----
The second the car stops, Bella hops out the car with quickness and heads into the house with the other two.
You, on the other hand, were dragging a little. Jake stays behind, leading you into the house.
“This was the last thing you probably expected to discover when you came here, huh?” He says, trying to break the tension.
“That’s an understatement.” You reply, crossing your arms in front of your chest to fight off the sudden chilly weather.
“I guess you have some explaining to do. ” You both stop at the front door of the house. He opens his mouth to say something, until the voice of your sister calling your name interrupts him.
Before you turn to go inside the house, he grabs your wrist. “Can we take a walk after? I owe you an explanation, and I want you to hear them for me.” His eyes plead with you.
“Yeah. I’d like that.” You smile at him and he returns it.
