UNDERPEST: NO MERCY 🌺
Underpest: No Mercy is a post-apocalyptic Undertale fangame/AU.
Story Context
Many years after the war between humans and monsters, strange echoing red flowers begin to spread throughout the Underground. At first, they seem harmless, but soon they spread uncontrollably, and monsters who come into contact with them become violent, aggressive, and lose all reason.
As the infection spreads, the Underground descends into chaos. Years later, Frisk falls into a completely destroyed and infected world beneath the surface.
The story follows Frisk and Flowey as they journey through this ruined world in search of the 6 human SOULS to escape the Underground, while discovering what happened to this fallen world.
Unlike the original Undertale, this world no longer offers the option of mercy. The infected monsters are long gone, and the only way to survive is to fight. Initial Development

The Little Flower
Long ago, before the infection spread across the Underground, there lived a little flower.
It had the power to manipulate time, to reset, to hold control of that world for itself.
The little flower had done almost everything. Heard everything. Killed everything. Seen everything.
And there came a moment when it grew bored... no longer knowing what to do.
Until something different happened.
A strange infection began to take over the Underground, infecting monsters and turning them into violent, starving creatures.
The little flower watched... and became interested.
Finally... something new.
Creating a new save in this timeline, it took advantage of the situation and tried everything it could.
But when it decided to reset to before the infection...
Something it never expected happened.
The reset brought it back to the beginning of the infection.
At first, it thought it was just an error. It tried again. And again. And again.
But with every attempt... things only got worse.
Until one moment, trying once more...
The reset simply vanished.
And now... it could no longer go back.

I HAVE A THEORY!!!
I've been in contact with the creator of "UnderPest No Mercy." He's been sending me updates on the story, and I think I can consider myself the number one fan of this AU. Putting that aside, I'm going to start with my theory.
Throughout the story, Frisk, Flowey, and Sans (who are the protagonists in this AU) have been together the whole time trying to find a cure for the infection. BUT I suspect that Chara is responsible for the infection! Since it's too strange that the infection started so suddenly and quickly, my theory and my schizophrenia tell me that Chara, at the moment of dying, was so angry at Asriel's (Flowey's) weakness for not avenging their death immediately. So Chara began using fragments of their own determination to shape the world in their own way (I should clarify that I want to assume this only happens if the player agreed to give Chara the power in a previous GENOCIDE route), and with that, Chara began using that determination to corrupt the world and get the revenge they could never have.

This is the design of the infected Toriel from Underpest No Mercy.
About the AU:
Underpest No Mercy is a post-apocalyptic Undertale universe where strange red flowers begin to spread, transforming monsters into violent and hungry creatures, similar to zombies.
In this AU, there is no option to spare.
Once monsters are infected, they are already lost, and the only way to survive is to fight.

continuation of the other parts, part of Underpest no Mercy part 3
Frisk continues down the corridors. The Ruins’ traps no longer work, as they are covered in flowers. Most of the puzzles are broken or destroyed, and some paths are blocked by the flowers, forcing you to find alternative routes.
You reach a massive corridor, and a cutscene begins: Frisk hides as a monster appears to be running away. Suddenly, Toriel appears, attacks it, and begins devouring it. A message appears:
“She is distracted by the monster… you can use this to escape.”
You must leave the area while Toriel devours the monster. Once you exit, you cannot go back, and a message appears:
“You don’t want to go back.”
UNDERPEST NO STORY PART 2
Context – Underpest: No Mercy
Underpest: No Mercy is a post-apocalyptic Undertale AU, where strange red equante flowers spread through the Underground, turning monsters into hungry, zombie-like creatures.
This is the second part of the story started in another post.

Ruins
Frisk continues alone through the Ruins, noticing more and more the presence of the strange red flowers spreading throughout the area.
Upon reaching the first SAVE point, a message appears:
"You feel as if this place is watching you, making you uncomfortable… yet you fill yourself with determination."
You move forward, solving what remains of the Ruins’ puzzles — many of them broken and abandoned, as if no one has passed through here for a very long time.
When you reach the old Training Room, something catches your attention.
A doll lies broken on the floor.
Interacting with it triggers a message:
"A broken doll. It seems to have been here for a very long time."
Deeper inside, you encounter the first monster.
Its body bears a bite mark. The infection is recent.
It speaks weakly, asking for help. During the fight, many of its attacks fail, as if it can barely control itself.
This is the first lesson of this world.
Monsters that are already infected cannot be saved.
Still, the game allows you to try.
If the player attempts to spare the monster, they succeed — but at the end of the fight, a message appears:
"You feel doubt crawling down your spine."
Moments later, the same monster appears again.
This time, it is completely infected.
It no longer speaks.
It no longer hesitates.
Now, there is only one option left.
Fight.

Many years ago, two races dominated the Earth: humans and monsters. One day, a war began between them, known as the Great War. After a long and brutal battle, humans emerged victorious, and the monsters were sealed underground by a magical spell.
Years after the Great War, monsters adapted and began building their own cities and societies beneath the surface, trying to rebuild their lives underground, while still holding onto the dream that one day they could return to the surface.
But peace did not last forever… Red ecuante flowers began appearing throughout the Underground. At first, they seemed harmless, and many ignored them. However, they spread quickly and soon became impossible to overlook. Any monster who came into contact with them became infected by a strange disease that initially appeared mild—almost like a common illness.
Hours later, the infected monsters became aggressive and ravenous, attacking anyone without control. Chaos spread through the Underground at a terrifying speed.
The monsters who were not infected soon realized they would have to make difficult choices to survive. Those who were bitten or scratched by the infected began to transform as well, losing all reason. The struggle for survival forced the remaining monsters to face friends and loved ones who had been infected.
The Underground, once full of life, fell completely into chaos. Now, only one rule remains: survive.
You begin your journey by falling into this unknown world. As you stand up and take control of Frisk, a message appears:
"You try to move, still feeling the pain of the fall… pain, pain. You ignore it and look around. You don’t know where you are, but you feel that something in this place is wrong… and it shouldn’t be this way."
The dialogue ends, and the gameplay begins normally. However, the environment already shows signs of what happened: cracks in the ground and red flowers scattered across certain areas.
Upon reaching Flowey’s room, he is standing with his back turned. As you approach, he startles:
"Ahhhhh! S-sorry… you’re human, right?"
He tries to act normal, but it’s clear that he is scared. He continues:
"I-I-It must have been… a f-f-fall…"
Before he can finish, a very loud noise echoes. Flowey panics and disappears into the ground.
Then, something appears that makes Frisk step back: Toriel—but infected. Her body is grotesquely affected by the red flowers. She looks around, glances at Frisk for a moment, and then walks away.
A new message appears:
"You feel fear. You don’t know what that thing was, and you begin to wonder… what is happening here?"

Record 23 – The Infected
It’s been months… weeks?
I’ve completely lost track of time.
I conducted recent research on the infected monsters and discovered important information that needs to be recorded.
The source of the infected’s hunger seems linked to a sudden loss of magic. Without magic, they instinctively attack anyone nearby, trying to regain it. This explains their constant aggression and insatiable hunger.
I also confirmed something I feared.
There is nothing left of them.
No personality. No conscious memories.
Only an empty shell, driven purely by instinct.
There is no choice.
The only way to stop them… is by killing them.
They are already gone.
I identified two ways the infection spreads: through bites and through spores released by the flowers. The spores are rare and only appear in enclosed areas with high flower concentration, but even then, improvised masks are necessary.
The situation has completely deteriorated…
It’s spreading to every area.
I can no longer contact the Royal Guard.
Entire sections of the Underground have collapsed or fallen silent.
I’m exhausted.
I can’t sleep.
Everything has descended into chaos… but I can’t give up.
There has to be a way.
Something.
Some kind of cure.
