Dr. Eggman, in another attempt to take over the world, messes with forces beyond his control, like many times before. It's now up to Sonic and Shadow, with help from a new ally with a familiar face, to team up to stop Eggman from harnessing enough ghost energy to power his newest creation.

Speed through familiar zones like the ancient pyramids of Sandoplolis, or the vast vistas of the Pumpkin Hill, and travel to new locations to round up ghosts from haunting the residents of Sonic's world.
