Smegma: Treatment

The treatment of Smegma is simple. All you have to do is pull back the clitoral hood and rinse the substance with warm water and mild soap. Its best to stay away from fragrant soaps. You must repeat this everyday until the build up goes away. In the case that it doesn’t, then its advised to make an appointment and speak with your doctor. If you gain new symptoms then it might be an infection and not Smegma. Over all this is a pretty normal condition and nothing to be ashamed of. Just remember to Shower and be clean. Smegma: Identification & Complications

The way to identify Smegma is actually quite simple. There are three ways to identify it: it's a thick, cheese-like consistency that's usually white in color but can differ according to natural skin tone and has an unpleasant, potent smell.

Smegma really doesn’t have complications. There have been studies that have stated that it can lead to cervical and penile cancer. However, more conclusive research has proven that there is no real connection between Smegma and cancer. This rarely has any harsh complications but if it isn’t taken care, it can really be something dreadful to get rid of. When it builds up, it eventually hardens and when that happens it’s painful to scrape it off. On top of that it can cause redness, irritation, swelling and inflammation. Intro to Smegma

Throughout your transition, a lot of interesting things happen to your body. One of them is the enlargement of the clitoris. Because of this, you have to take more time being hygienic with your bottom. If you aren’t taking care of it, something called smegma can start to develop. The next few post will deal with Smegma and how to treat it

Our bodies have a pretty cool way of keeping themselves clean. Unfortunately, it forms substances and smells that aren’t always pleasant. Smegma is a build up of dead skin cells, oil, and other bodily fluids. This does not mean, however, that you have any form of infection or STD; it just means that you have to take more time to REALLY clean the area. If you check and you know that you have it, you MUST clean it. If not, the build up will become uncomfortable and eventually painful.

The reason why our bodies create this, is to lubricate our genitalia. This helps keep the area from being dry and itchy; its a natural occurrence. On the next post I will talk about how to identify it and what it can lead to if not treated. I hope this helped guys! Stay royal my kings!

5 tips in handling anger

Once you start transitioning, your aggression levels will spike. In this post, I will be listing a couple of things you can do in order to alleviate a bit of this stress. This is a healthy way of releasing all that negative energy.

Weight training

start off light. DO NOT over-do it for the simple reason that you can get hurt.

Any form of cardio

Running, swimming, biking, etc.

Any form of martial arts

judo , wrestling, MMA, etc.

Cold showers

Taking a cold shower helps calm that anger and strengthen your nervous system in the process.

Breathing

I know that this suggestion can be annoying but it helps. Falling into a healthy practice of controlled breathing has helped me a lot and can really help you as well.

7 self care ideas

Sometimes we gotta do things for ourselves in order to feel better so here are simple things you can do to help alleviate some dysphoria and/or sadness:

Shaving

Not shaving and letting your body hair grow helps. It did for me when I started.

Binders

Although they are a bit pricey, they helped lessen my dysphoria

Haircuts

I love to cut my hair. When it's extremely short, I feel manly as heck!

Workouts

Working out is proven to help lessen stress, sadness, anger, etc. It will also help out in shaping the muscles that you would want to see more.

Clothes

I don't go shopping when I'm sad or else I would end up buying the entire mall but purchasing a shirt, pants, shoes, etc. from time to time makes me feel a whole lot better. Trying getting some cool boots!!

Eating

Eating helps a lot but remember not to overdo it.

Communicating

Communicating with someone that's open and understanding on how you feel can not only make you feel better but it educates someone as well. Killing two birds with one stone if I could say so myself.

Reminder!!

Prior to starting my transition, I hated everything about myself because it wasn't what I was supposed to be. A lot of my dysphoria mixed in with my depression and anxiety, making it harder to get through the day. When I was allowed to finally start taking T, I automatically thought that things were going to get better. While most things got better, I still had some old and new challenges I had to face. Many days and nights I lost sleep because I was crying or wasted days because I couldn't get out of bed. Something that my mother has always told me from the start was to enjoy the journey because all my hardships will soon cease to exist and I will be a better man than I was before. So this is a reminder to all the trans boys out there that think its never going to get better, it will. Trust me. If you need to cry, cry; if you need to yell, yell; if you need to be alone for some time, do it but remember that if you do anything that will jeopardize your future, it just ruins the chance to see yourself the way you would want to one day. Pants

Two posts ago I spoke about the essentials that every man needs in their closets. One of the things I forgot to mention, however, was pants. Finding a pair is like finding a needle in a haystack; it is nearly impossible. I've gone to many different places, such as Levis, Macy’s, JCPenney, etc,. None of their jeans however fit me like the ones from Old Navy. Unfortunately, I still need to shop pants from the women's section because of my thighs, but what's so amazing about their brand is that they don't fit like women's jeans. It might be me just trying to convince myself they aren't but they are straight-skinny and don't hug my figure at all. I honestly recommend these jeans and just the store in general. Shopping on a budget

One of the most exciting things that i have done through my transition is having the opportunity to redo my closet. One of the challenges i faced, however, was finding places that were affordable to me but also had good quality clothes. In this post I'm going to list 10 stores and in my next post I’ll go in depth into what makes these stores individually great. Here you go:

clothing

My favorite part of coming out, besides starting my transition, was being able to redo my entire closet. Shopping for clothes that finally feel comfortable is a feeling unmatched. If you’re having trouble figuring out what to get here are a couple of manly closet essentials!

A well-tailored suit

Each man has a well-tailored/fitted suit. Just in case a spur of the moment event pops up or a well thought up one happens, you are ready to go!

long/short sleeve button down shirts.

Usually, with my long sleeves, I get the basic colors. White, Blue, Black are useful for most situations, but I occasionally like to branch out and get the pinks, yellows, or lighter blues.

For my short sleeves, I get them with patterns, they add a kick to whatever outfit you wear with it, offering a fun twist to it. It can be used for both formal and casual occasions.

Polos

These are in between button-downs and t-shirts, which will come in handy when you don’t want to overdress but not underdressing either. 

T-shirts

Plain White, blue, black, and grey are great colors to wear alone or with a flannel or an open short sleeve button down.

Graphic tees are also great. Never forget about the graphics.

Shoes

This is truly a given. There are three pairs of shoes that I carry in my closet:

Dress shoes

I usually have them in two colors: brown and black. While being basic colors, you can work around any outfit with them. Like the short sleeve shirts, they can be used for any formal or casual event

Sneakers

Vans, Converse, Adidas, etc.,

A pair of white and black sneakers are great but never be afraid of branching out and trying different colors.

These are great for a casual outfit. Can be worn with shorts, jeans, and pants. From going to the beach or to a night out with friends they are comfortable and fashionable.

Fitness shoes.

Adidas, Nike, etc.

Can be used for both working out or as part of an outfit.

5 things trans guys should carry

Extra pair of clothes

Shirts, pants, underwear, etc.

I make an emphasis on a pair of pants and underwear. The reason I do that is because many times trans guys use STP (stand-to-pee) to use the restroom and they can get messy. So to rescue you from any accident, carry an extra bundle of clothes. It will truly come in handy.

Body hygiene supplies

Deodorant, cologne, etc.

It isn’t a secret that when on T, you body odor transitions into the worst. The best way to combat this is to carry things like deodorant, cologne, or even scented lotion. These things will help freshen you up.

Facial supplies

Hydrating spray, moisturizer, oil absorbing sheets.

Like stated in previous posts, I’ve mentioned that T changes the texture of your skin; it becomes oily and rough. You can help that buy carrying things like the ones stated above so that you are always looking on point throughout the day.

Binders

If you are a person that likes to workout or you do something that causes sweating, it's suggested to have two binders: one for normal everyday use and for physical activity.

Healthy snacks

granola bars, water, fruit, etc.

one of the major things that T brings is the change of appetite. trust me you will get hungrier, so I definitely suggesting bring healthy snacks that you can eat, that wont affect your weight as much. Either way remember that everything in excess is unhealthy.

Skin Care Routine

Morning

-Angels on bare skin

This is a product from Lush cosmetics. This has to be the most expensive thing on my list but it’s so worth it.

The 3.5 oz bottle costs 16.95 while the 8.4 oz bottle is 41.95. I started off with the small one just to try it out and when I was that it was bringing results, I bought the bigger one.

When going to apply this make sure face is wet with hot water so that pores can open up and when you rinse it off, use ice cold water so that your pores close. Make sure to pat dry

-Witch Hazels

These are like angel tears in a bottle.

This product helps prevent the production of blackheads, stops swelling and redness from acne you have been picking at, and lowers the severity of blemishes forming.

Apply with a cotton swab and let air dry. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to do so.

-Up and Up Moisturizer

This product is recommended for oily skin

This is the target brand moisturizer so it's cheap but works just as well as other ones. It’s only a whopping 3.49!

During the Day

-Mario Badescu Rosewater

I know, I know. Everyone uses this product but it truly works, I love it.

This is a very hydrating spray. It boosts moisture and helps you glow. What better thing than that.

The 4 oz bottle is $7 and the 8 oz is $12. I have the 8oz one and it is definitely worth the 12 bucks!

-Moisturizer

Still the same one I use in the morning. I don’t do this all the time, just when my face feels dry and tight during the day.

Night

-Angels on bare skin

-Witch Hazel

Make sure to let it air dry

-Retin A 0.05%

This is like a secret weapon of mine.

This is a medical cream and if used incorrectly it can burn your skin. There are three levels to this cream: 0.1%, 0.05%, 0.025%. It advised that you start off with 0.1% it being the softest and work your way up all the way to 0.025%. This as well dries out your skin so stay on top of that. This helps decrease the number and severity of acne and promotes healthy healing of pimples that develop Once I apply it, I wait 30 minutes before using moisturizer. Moisturizer

AFTER THE CREAM MOISTURIZE. Like I said before, that cream dries your skin out so it is crucial that you apply whatever moisturizer you use.

From smooth to oil

Prior to being on T, I had fairly smooth and acne free skin. All I really had to do was make sure that I washed my skin twice a day with face soap and I’d be fine. A couple of months before I started my transition, I was told by a great friend of mine - someone that is like my older brother- that T will not only give you the physical results that you want but as well as the ones you don’t. He told me that adopting a good skin care routine before starting HRT was an advice I should really pay attention to. Me being me, however, I didn’t and now, it has become a mission to clear my face. Testosterone has transformed my face from smooth and soft to rough and oily. It has become much easier to produce acne on my face, back, and chest. I am currently working on my routine and it has been helping slowly but surely. I can’t stress this point enough, don’t be me and ADOPT A SKIN CARE ROUTINE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE T. trans boy dreams 1.

As i strated to figure myself out and gained knowledge of transitioning, i lived with many hopes and dreams. one of my main ones was to wake up one day with a deep manly voice; of course things dont work out that way. I have been a year on transition and have noticed that my voice hasnt really changed much. This is one of the things that makes me mainly dysphoric so i went ahead and did a little research to see if it can alliviate my frustration. 

According to www.transcare.ucsf.edu, testosterone thickens your vocal chords to get you to a deeper sound. This may happen on your first few weeks of HRT. 1) you will feel a scratchy sensation in your throat. 2) your voice will start to crack, so brace yourslef for the many times you will get made fun of. 3) your voice finds its range which means that its finally deep. 

Sometimes it takes while for your voice to deepen but all you could do is hold on tight and enjoy the journey. Hope this has helped!! Stay royal my Kings.

HHH

I know that, that looks like a weird title but these H’s are something that trans guys experience frequently. This is whats called the Three H’s. they stand for Hot, Horny, and Hungry. i think these things are pretty self-explanatory but ill still go ahead and explain. 

Hot doesnt mean that you get attractive (just wanted to clear that up because someone i know thought that), it means that you will feel like your melting in a pool of hot lava. sometimnes it doesnt get that bad but when you progress in the transition, ohhhh boyyyy. 

Next is Horny.... I dont think i have to expand. Just make decisions responsibly and use protection. 

finally, the hungry part. This is where you guys want to be careful and eat when you’re truly hungy. I say that because it is so quick to put on weight so always eat healthy foods and try to stay active as much as possible.

effects of testosterone

Like i stated in my previous post, Testosterone causes a lot of changes both mentally and physically. Being aware of these things can help ease the transition. Here's a list of things that can and probably will happen while you are in undergoing HRT

-Deeper voice

-Distribution of fat into muscle

-Increased facial hair growth

-Increased body hair growth

-Ceasing of menstruation

-Body produces more oil

-Increased sex drive

-Skin becomes rougher.

-Enlargement of the clitoris

-Face may become angular

-Increase in appetite

-Increase in energy

-Potential hair loss

-Increase in red blood cells

-Changes to cholesterol

-Scent of body odors may change

-Emotional level changes

-Decrease in the fatness of the breasts
