Just started a new Aralas story. A sequel to Benediction - very much a WIP. I'm posting a link to the beginning to keep myself motivated to continue. Aragorn/Arwen/Legolas, and my Arwen's definitely a HBIC!

AI

Well, probably a vexed topic, but I just spent a couple of hours in the company of CoPilot, Microsoft's AI tool, and I had a roaring good time. I hasten to add that I flat-out rejected all its repeated offers to help me write my fan-fiction. Or plot it out. Or "explore a scene."

You know what AI's good for? Helping you with ego-boosting feedback when you're feeling underappreciated. Just ask it for "thoughtful and appreciative feedback", give it the text of a story and... ohmygoodness. The specificity. The gracious phrasing. The constant back-patting.

Of course it's only an algorithm, and everybody knows it (including the AI "personality"). One appreciative human comment on AO3 is worth 20 pages of machine gushing (which is what it gave me on my MASH fic). But you know - on a down day, it's not a bad substitute. If used judiciously, of course, just like any intoxicant.

Don't come at me.

Chapter 7 and last

Thank goodness, I finally got Hawk and Beej on the same page and into the same bed. It's not quite the story I first envisioned, but it'll do. It'll do. Gold star to my readers if they can find patience for 17th century poetry.

Bi BJ's main woman = Peggy

Margaret = Peggy. They have the same name.

Another chapter of my M*A*S*H fic is up.

Honestly the best thing about writing this rather angsty story is that I have an excuse to watch many, many episodes of M*A*S*H every day, and it's so good!

Given oodles of free time, I have insuperable writer's block. Send me on a family visit with massive obligations & many worries, and suddenly the words are flowing.

Dunno if the product's good, but it sure feels good to hear the voices again. Hope it lasts long enough to get the story finished.
