JULIAN BASHIR | STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE ā 2.12 āThe Alternateā
So cuteššš
Paramount cancelling Starfleet Academy is so so so sadšššš I really like the show!! And I really hate all the haters.
The sad thing is: Many of them never even watched the show!!
Whatever anyone says, I like the kids, I like the adults in this show. Nahla Ake is an inspiration in these difficult times we have right now. I really really like her. How dare you take this away from me! You donāt have to watch the show. Like with fanfics, if you donāt like it, donāt read it. Just move on. Silently. Without making such a damn fuss!
SFA is and always will be one of my favorite ST shows. And Iām looking forward to season 2. And all the fanfics after that!!ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø
Anyone else getting The Tribe vibes from Brakaās new atrium decoration in the final season 1 SFA episode? š
Did anyone notice that Caleb was eating a Jumja stick in S1E5 of Starfleet Academy?? I havenāt seen any of these since the early days of DS9!! Or maybe it was a homage to DS9 and especially Jake, because we often saw him and Nog eating them on the Promenade on DS9ā¦
Yeah, now that I think of it, itās definitely a tribute to Jake. Lovely attention to detailā¤ļø
S1E2 of Starfleet Academy reminded me so much of the TNG episode S2E10 The Dauphin! I loved that episode when I was a kidāŗļø
And of course we have the same theme in the DS9 episode S1E14 The Storyteller!
What I like about this SFA episode is that the girl they introduce is here to stay for a changeš
Has anyone ever wondered what became of Buster, Nanaās son from her first marriage? We hear a lot about Django (Nana and Sidās son) and saw quite a lot of him during the pandemic, but Buster was never really mentioned again. He obviously joined the military ā there are even pictures of him online, which arenāt hard to find. Iāve always been curious about his storyā¦
Key Points Buster Miscusi is the son of actress Nana Visitor and Nick Miscusi, born around 1992. He joined the US Marine Corps in 2010 and w

Yeah, letās try this! If enough people order it, they might even start a collaboration.

I love DS9, I love the show, and I love DS9 fanfics. I even read the first novels of the relaunch series. But knowing the end of Control and Julianās story arc in the Section 31 novels, Iāll probably never pick up those books⦠Itās just too depressing. Hurt without comfort is just not my cup of tea.
Which is very sad because I would really love to read more about Julian and Section 31. But knowing whatās coming is just such a turn-off. I mean, seeing Garak taking care of Julian would be great ā IF heād recover in the end⦠But without happy ending? Just too depressing š
Can anyone relate??
OMG, Julianās name is on the big display behind the new cadets when new chancellor Nahla Ake delivers her first speech in s1e1 Starfleet Academy.

Big shoutout to Terry for pointing out that Dax and Worfās relationship was more than a little toxic! Now, having had her fair share of real life experience in that field, she canāt understand why on Earth Dax was attracted to Worf in the first place. Because there were just so many red flags in that relationship.

Just some random rant about ST Picardā¦
Iām happy what they did with the show and it was soo good to see everyone in TNG reunited after such a long time. But thereās one thing Iām absolutely mad about: When they dealt with the Founders in season 3 - why didnāt it occur to anyone to check with the very specialists for everything Founder related???? I mean, how can you take the Founders as main villain - and leave out the former crew of DS9??? I mean, they could get Dr. Bashir involved. He managed to get the antidote from Sloan and rescue Odo. He knows so much about them, and heās got knowledge of Section 31. Or if not Bashir, then ask Kira for advice!!! She was dating one of them!!! I mean, how could they do that?š How could they not involve any of the former DS9 cast. Sid, Andy, Terry, Nana, Armin, I bet they would have been more than happy to come back in Picard. Theyāre keeping DS9 alive for the fans, even after all these years with zoom sessions and podcasts. So why not bring any of the former DS9 cast back in Picard???? I really donāt get itā¦ššš

Just something that recently crossed my mind when thinking about Julian and his relationship with his parents.
Do you remember season 1 all-eager-to-please-puppy-Julian? Just imagine what an argument between Richard and season 1 Julian would have looked like. They did have a lot of differences in the past ever since Julian found out about his enhancements at the age of 15. But somehow I cantāt really picture season 1 Julian opposing his father in more than a teenager kind of way. He might argue with his father over something but in the end he complies with whatever his parents tell him because heās so desperate to measure up to everyoneās expectations because he thinks that itās the only way to earn their love.
Then take season 5 all-mature-and-grown-up Julian who knows exactly how to step up for himself and defend himself. Heās no longer willing to do as his father tells him. You can see in Siskoās office how much heās uncomfortable with his parents showing their affection for him. While season 1 Julian would have quietly endured the whole thing, probably feeling even guilty for not being the perfect son, season 5 Julian is ready to defend his newly made home against his parentās intrusion.
And I just wonder when exactly that change in Julianās attitude toward his parents might have happened. I mean, of course he grows up a lot during his time on DS9 but I canāt help but wonder if there was something, a particular event that caused it.
If we take Julianās statement in Dr. Bashir, I presume? where he says that he hasnāt been home for three years that would mean that the last time he visited home must have been somewhere around season 2. Itās only my guess but Armageddon Game is set in season 2 where Julian is believed dead and Sisko passes on the news of Julianās death to his parents. Most likely Julian visited his parents after the events. My guess is that that was the turning point in their relationship.

Richard: We thought you were dead. Iām so glad youāre here. Just imagine, all that talent gone for good. All that knowledge and all those skills.
Julian: Weāre talking about my life! I nearly DIED. And all youāre concerned about is that my talent could have been wasted?
Again, itās only my guess but it would make senseā¦
DS9 gen Julian Bashir fanfic
I just read a story I really liked! It's gen, novel-length AND all about Julian. It's called The Darkness Within by Mijra on ff.net and the focus is on Julian's (toxic) childhood with a lot of angst and a plot twist I really hadn't seen coming! I've been reading a lot of Garashir stories recently but it was nice to have a non-slash story about Julian once in a while. So much trauma the poor boy is going through. Goes straight to my h/c folder! There seem's to be more from the author. Can't wait to go through her (?) other stories.
