it's spring '06. in the lecture hall of a comp 101 class, two passionate students sit beside each other. one student makes a joke about the professor's tufted hair, the other student fails to hold back a chuckle before whispering, "stooop!" the jokester places his hand over his mouth, failing to hide a smirk. a connection was formed.

it was when he first heard her snorty giggle; when he first felt her hand on his arm; when he first saw her tuck her hair behind her ear-----it was then that he knew that she meant more--far more--to him than merely his friend.

but his feelings for her were confusing and he was always too afraid to act on them. she was his friend, after all, and he appreciated the relationship that they already shared. though, he spent more than his fair share of moments daydreaming about a future they'd have together if he made a move; if he kissed her, if he told her how he really feels.

notes: this ad is for aria's best friend from college and current roommate. everything is open about him, except for me wanting him to be a bit of a goofball with a big heart. i have henry as the face and i'm pretty into him for his role, but if you have faces that you like more, let me know! also, they went to the same university and had some of the same classes, but he doesn't have to be a writer or artist of any sort! i'm definitely open to him being anything but, actually. but yeah!

i have another ad for aria's current lover, of sorts, and i think it would be an interesting dynamic to have her best friend be very sceptical and defensive of aria. i'm also not 100% into this best friend being her absolute final ship, but i'd be down to consider it after we write them out, build chemistry, and go through the woes of the plot.

ever heard of love at first sight? sure you have. well, this isn't quite that. it's somewhat of the opposite, actually. in the happenstance of a meet cute, a writer and a wealthy (insert occupation here) lock eyes at a dog park; except, sparks don't fly and butterflies fail to flutter. their sudden encounter is reduced to "hey; hi; cute dog; thanks; alright... bye." and, they thought nothing of it. they tossed the memory of their meeting to the side just as quickly as it occurred.

however, it wasn't until he walked into a café for a quick coffee that he began to feel more for her. after paying for and recieving his drink, he turned around to leave, coffee in hand and primed for a sip. as he brought the drink to his lips, his eyes fell upon a brunette in the far corner. it was then that he knew. maybe it was something about how effortlessly her hair draped around her cheeks or how her passionately typing away at her laptop exuded a semblance of her dedication to her work. or perhaps it's true that love is both complex and simple--sight matters not in the dynamics of love; its the warm static of emotion that rules over all.

thus, began the tale of two lovers--a woman who hopelessly and eagerly sought after someone that both loved her and wouldn't dare to hurt her; and a man who was bad at love and was once everything that she despised. but it was because the feeling that he had in that café that would make him do anything to be the man that she wanted, and needed...

notes: this ad is for one of aria's sudden love interests! all of the details listed in the story blurb above are what i have as mostly concrete--with the exception of me also wanting him to have a reputation as a promiscuous, philandering heartbreaker and aria not really finding that out until after he begins to woo her. also, i want him to slowly go through the mental/emotional battle of overcoming his past pompous, apathetic tendencies and learn how to properly love someone. whether these two are endgames for each other is up in the air and can be settled later. though, i definitely want to progress through the relationship fairly slowly and toss in a few dramatic wrenches as time goes on!

his face is technically open, but i'm really feeling michiel. though, if you find someone you really like, don't be afraid to toss him my way! i might be inclined to change my mind. and his occupation is open, so long as it warrants him having status and money (or maybe he just got that from his family??? idk, we can work it out). he could also be in a preestablished fam or a preestablished character so long as he fits the mold.

in the fall of '05, three first-year law students at ucla bonded over the rigorous work of their law courses. after spending nights together studying, working together on group projects, and learning under the same professors at the same times, they quickly grew to become close friends. though, it was not until they all worked in ucla's criminal defense clinic that they found a specific ambition that they all shared. they wanted to defend those that could not properly defend themselves and prevent others from being felled by false charges or unnecessary punishment.

they admired each other's tact and skill concerning the law just as much as they grew to adore each other as long-time friends. in the spring of 08', those three students achieved their desired heights and passed the bar. with their new status as officially available lawyers, they put their mind and their funds together to orchestrate the birth of their own law firm.

after nearly five (5) years of legal service, the aptly named "LAW" defense firm rose in the ranks and began to make a name for itself. however, they gained majority of their wealth and renown at the end of the obama administration. the trio of partners approached one of the era's admins and campaign workers, dominic stark, and asked him to join the firm because of his skill as a practicioner of the law and the status that his name carried. though, stark refused to be merely an associate and gave the firm an ultimatum—make him a senior partner or forget about his loyalty. so, as expected, they signed him on as partner and the firm subsequently became the "LAWS" defense firm.

for the associates, their legal specifications should fall under the four available specifications—corporate law, medical law, human rights, and general defense. and the number of associating lawyers is, technically, limitless, so don't take the three listed slots at face value. the same goes for the students of alcott's legal clinic.

as for the other two partners, the surnames are open (the graphic can be edited), so long as those names begin with either an 'L' or 'W', respectively. i would also reccommend finding other ads where families of 'L' or 'W' surnames have open slots for characters within the age ranges of the partners. also, i would deffffinitely be down for one, or even both, of the remaining partners being women or gender-fluid individuals.

also, paralegals for this firm will each either work under one of the four established branches—corporate law, academia (alcott's pro bono legal clinic), medical law, and human rights law, as well as the broad specialization of defense. they are not established lawyers, but help assist lawyers with their duties. additionally, alcott's assigned paralegal helps him with educating his students and handling his pro bono cases.

though, lastly, i'm flexible on some of the details concerning how the firm operates and its origins, so if they don't align with something pertaining to your idea of a character, just lmk and we can discuss any changes!

p.s., this ad is very g.p. (general purpose) for the firm as a whole, but i absolutely want drama, inter-office affairs/issues, conflict with lapd or the bikers of this ad, etc. we can work out those details together either on-site or through PMs!

so, i’m reworking my aria zane a little bit. i’m keeping her occupation and much of her personality/aesthetics the same, but i’m a bit on the fence about her living situation. as of now, i have it down that she lives with 7 other thirty-something artists (of various concentrations), but i think i should do an interest check, considering that there are a few other group roommate plots out there already.

so! if you have an artist between the ages of 28-32 and want to place them in a home with seven other artists, please let me know! or if you have some interest in making an artist within the age range, also let me know!
