I don’t have much to add except for the part about Enedora’s horns. I don’t believe that trion is naturally hostile, like all forms of energy i think it to be inherently neutral(just like SE’s are, though their effects can vary, being both negative and positive depending on a multitude of factors)and what happened to Enedora is the direct result of what part of his brain was affected, where his horns rooted into, rather than trions directly influence.
We don’t have much information on how the trion receptors work and grow, just that they can end up spreading into the brain, but where and how that affects the person is very dependent on their horn placement from what i can tell. The horns seem to damage the brain once they’ve rooted into it, the spreading of the trion or trigger messing with the inner workings of it or whatever, and though we only have one known case of this [enedora] we can see that it is very similar to real life cases of damage to that area of the brain.
So enedora’s horns are front facing, around his forehead instead of on the back of his temples like Hyuse and Hyrein.
Which means that his horns would’ve dug into his frontal lobe
The frontal lobe manages reasoning, emotions, personality, self control, ect ect.
When your frontal lobe is damaged, it can lead to executive dysfunction, personality changes, impulsivity, trouble with reasoning, and more.
Phineas Gage, was a railroad construction worker who had a metal rod impaled through his head because of a work accident. The rod went through the left front of his brain, hitting his frontal lobe. He lived, but experienced drastic personality changes. He became rude, disrespectful to colleagues, couldn’t accept advice, and was very irritable. He stopped thinking about consequences, and the people around him said that “Gage is no longer himself”. Its a very interesting case, apparently the affects slowly reverted over time.
Either way, sound familiar? It’s very similar to what happened with Enedora. Trion CAN have an effect on the brain as seen with SE’s, but I don’t think it was trion having a mind altering affect that caused Enedora’s shift in personality, just the damage to his frontal lobe & brain.
This also means that instead of the affects of the trion receptors rooting into the brain being the same for everyone, it’s different for different horn placements. Hyrein and Hyuse’s horns would root into their temporal lobe, anyone with their horns more towards the back(i think we’ve seen a random background character like that before? It might’ve just been horns like hyreins)might have theirs dig into their occipital lobe, and each would present differently.
With the temporal lobe, damage to it can affect auditory processing, memories, and your ability to understand language. Amongst other things. I needa research this one more, since if Hyuse’s horns rooted into his brain, its how he’d be affected.
