          TRYSTAN  SIGHS  BEFORE  he  shakes  his  head  ever  so  slightly,  averting  his  gaze  from  the  other.  he’s  always  been  open  with  his  emotions,  but  has  kept  how  he  feels  about  them  to  himself.  he  has  convinced  himself  it’s  because  they’re  friends  and  he  doesn’t  want  to  ruin  their  friendship,  but  deep  down  it’s  much  more  than  that.  a  frustration  rarely  seen  in  trystan,  arises  within  him  as  he  ponders  about  these  things  and  he  blurts  out  the  words  that  have  been  floating  around  in  his  head.  “you  got  me  broken,  writing  songs  about  you  daily  and  it's  messing  with  my  focus”  he  closes  his  eyes,  but  the  silence  from  his  friend  piques  his  interest,  causing  his  eyes  to  open  again,  and  cautiously  he  looks  up  towards  the  other, awaiting an answer.

          HER  MORNING  SICKNESS  had  lasted  most  of  the  day  but  as  eunju  had  major  cravings  for  pickles,  watermelon  and  nutella,  she’d  been  forced  to  go  out  to  hit  the  grocery  store  and  to  leave  her  son  with  her  kind,  elderly  neighbor.  as  she  headed  back  to  her  apartment  with  way  more  food  than  she’d  intended  on  buying,  eunju  quietly  cursed  herself  as  she  dropped  a  loaf  of  bread  on  the  sidewalk.  leaning  over  to  pick  it  up,  she  cautiously  looked  around  to  see  if  anyone  had  noticed,  when  her  gaze  saw  a  familiar  face  sitting  at  an  outdoors  table,  by  a  café.  instantly  her  breathing  picked  up  while  her  heart  begun  racing  and  her  stomach  threatened  to  turn.  it  seemed  as  though  this  would  be  her  only  chance  to  talk  to  him,  as  she  had  searched  high  and  low  for  the  man  to  tell  him  she  was  carrying  a  child  and  that  it  was  his.  

eunju  got  up  from  her  hunched  position  and  begun  marching  towards  the  table,  at  which  etienne  was  seated.  across  the  table  from  him,  was  a  beautiful  woman  but  that  small  fact  didn’t  really  register  with  eunju  just  yet.  stopping  at  the  side  of  their  table,  she  looked  at  the  woman  and  then  at  etienne,  “ fancy  seeing  you  here ”  her  words  were  abrupt  as  she  tilted  her  head  to  the  side,  “ i’ve  been  looking  for  you  for  weeks.  can  we  talk? ”  she  asked  the  man,  before  glancing  towards  the  woman  and  it  suddenly  made  sense,  “ wait  ...  are  you  on  a  date? ”  her  eyes  widened  in  shock,  as  she  had  wholeheartedly  believed  the  pair  had  had  a  true  connection.  that  he’d  simply  forgotten  to  give  her  his  number.  that  it  had  slipped  his  mind.  that  he’d  been  searching  for  her  as  much  as  she  had  from  him.  “ seriously? ”

𝐏𝐋𝐎𝐓    —    'we're  apart  of  the  same  crew  of  friends  and  we've  been  secretly  hooking  up  on  occasion  for  the  past  few  months.  i'm  pretty  sure  i'm  catching  feelings,  but  just  don’t  know  how  to  tell  you.  then  you  show  up  at  a  crew  barbecue  with  some  chick  on  your  arm, looking  awful  close'

          THE  BACKYARD  WAS  scattered  with  groups  of  people  and  areum  stood  with  one  of  them,  having  an  easy  going  conversation  about  the  new  modifications  she’d  made  to  her  car.  the  whole  atmosphere  was  laid - back  and  relaxed,  with  the  the  smell  of  barbecued  meat  in  the  air  and  a  cold  beer  in  hand,  areum  was  sure  the  night  couldn’t  get  much  better.  but  as  mocha  colored  eyes  moved  from  the  conversation  that  moved  on  without  her,  and  caught  the  other  making  an  appearance,  she  froze.  all  previous  feelings  of  joy  left  her  body,  taken  over  by  an  insane  ball  of  jealousy  forming  in  her  stomach.  they’d  shown  up  with  a  leggy  blonde  on  their  arm  and  a  smile  on  their  lips,  as  if  nothing  out  of  the  ordinary  was  happening  ...  which  in  reality,  it  wasn’t.  nobody  knew  about  the  two  of  them  hooking  up  every  now  and  then,  whenever  the  mood  struck,  so  why  wouldn’t  they  bring  a  date?  yet  for  some  reason,  she  felt  the  jealousy  shredding  her  insides  and  the  otherwise  hardened  woman,  felt  her  petty  side  coming  out.  areum  was  unable  to  pull  her  gaze  away  from  the  couple  and  when  the  other  looked  back  at  her,  she  leered  at  them,  “ excuse  me ”  she  mumbled  to  the  group  and  begun  making  her  way  towards  the  couple.  when  reaching  them,  she  tilted  her  head  and  a  cold  smile  found  her  lips.  the  blonde  was  turned  away  talking  to  some  of  their  friends,  as  areum  stood  by  her  ex  lover’s  side,  “ can  i  talk  to  you  for  a  minute  ...  in  private? ”  the  woman  nodded  towards  the  house,  as  she  waited  for  the  other’s  response,  anger  bubbling  towards  the  surface.

the chill air stung on his skin as they were running down the street with such speed he feared he’d trip over his own feet any second. him and this stranger, whose hand barely fit in his as he pulled at her. it had not been difficult to conclude that she was most likely not the kind of girl who belonged in these streets, alone. something had seemed off about the situation and yohan’s protective instinct had kicked in and he’d followed them. now a few blows to the face and gut later, he spotted a bus and shouted loud in a pathetic attempt at getting the driver’s attention. unsure of it being because of him or just sheer luck, they made it to the bus and yohan pushed her inside before entering himself, laying a last glance upon the two dark figures in full sprint getting closer and closer. “ drive, drive, drive, drive! “ he shouted at the bus driver, who closed the doors for them, mentioning tickets, “ yeh yeh, we’ll buy tickets already, just fucking drive! “ as the bus started moving yohan finally felt like he could catch his breath properly and nodded as a thanks to the bus driver. adjusting his black beanie, his eyes fell upon the female he’d rescued. “ are you okay? “ he asked, adrenaline still high, “ do you have money? “

          THE  ONLY  THING  norah  had  done  was  accept  an  invitation  to  an  underground  party.  that’s  the  only  reason  she  was  in  the  neighborhood,  and  she  hadn’t  even  noticed  the  whole  seedy  atmosphere  in  the  area,  as  she’d  been  too  distracted  by  her  phone  in  her  hands.  the  whole  situation  had  her  head  spinning.  first  the  fact  that  someone  had  been  following  her,  then  the  fight  and  now  the  running.  it  was  too  much  for  her  to  handle.  yet,  for  some  unknown  reason,  she  ran  when  he’d  yelled  at  her  to  do  so.  her  high  heels  clicked  and  clacked  against  the  pavement  in  very  small  but  fast  paced  steps,  as  she  was  being  pulled  after  the  stranger.  with  her  hand  in  his,  she  felt  herself  being  dragged  inside  the  bus,  followed  by  yelling  about  tickets,  and  the  confusion  grew  larger.  “ wait!  we  can’t  leave! ”  the  girl  nearly  shouted  at  the  bus  driver,  before  looking  at  the  beat  up  stranger  “ i  don’t  have  my  phone.  i  must  have  dropped  it ”  it  was  only  then,  that  tears  made  it  to  her  eyes.  not  because  she’d  almost  been  attacked,  or  because  this  kind  stranger  had  taken  a  beating  for  her  ...  no,  it  was  because  of  her  phone.  her  life  line.  her  life.  as  the  bus  kept  moving  and  norah  came  further  and  further  away  from  her  phone,  she  dejectedly  slumped  into  a  seat  on  the  bus,  wiping  away  a tear.  “ how  am  i  going  to  live  without  my  phone?  hmm? ”  she  asked  the  guy,  before  looking  around,  “ wait...  ew.  are  we  on  a  bus? ”  she  asked  and  her  eyes  widened.  “ gross.  couldn’t  we  have  just  like  ...  called  a  car  service  or  something? ”  she  asked,  ignoring  his  questions, while  looking  around, a  look  of  displeasure  on  her  face.

          HEARING  SOMETHING  MADE  of  glass  or  porcelain  smash  and  break  against  the  wall  between  their  apartments,  followed  by  the  slamming  of  their  neighbors  front  door,  caused  minnie  to  worry.  the  argument  next  door  had  been  ongoing  for  the  past  hour  or  two,  growing  increasingly  worse  by  the  minute  until  something  had  clearly  been  thrown  at  the  wall  in  anger.  she  didn’t  know  her  neighbor.  hell,  they’d  never  even  exchanged  any  words,  but  they  had  always  seemed  pleasant  when  they  had  exchanged  smiles  in  the  elevator  or  when  they  passed  each  other  in  the  hallway.  a  few  minutes  passed  by  and  minnie  could  hear  the  vacuum  turn  on  in  the  other  apartment.  before  she  knew  it,  the  woman  found  herself  in  the  hallway,  knocking  on  the  other’s  door.  when  it  harshly  swung  open,  a  reassuring  smile  appeared  on  her  lips.  “hi.  i’m  sure  you  don’t  know  who  i  am,  but  i  live  next  door.  i  heard  the  commotion  and  just  wanted  to  make  sure  everything’s  okay?”  tilting  her  head  slightly  to  the  side,  minnie  looked  the  other  in  the  eye,  before  averting  her  gaze,  realizing  a  little  too  late  how  inappropriate  it  was  for  her  to  just  show  up  like  this.

          ELIAS  WAS  ON  spring  break  from  college,  but  instead  of  partying  it  up  like  so  many  other  people  his  age,  he  was  stuck  on  a  business  trip  in  his  father’s  place.  his  dad  had  told  him  that  this  was  a  perfect  opportunity  to  begin  building  connections,  as  the  future  head  of  the  company  and  despite  elias’  protestations,  he  still  somehow  ended  up  going.  getting  back  to  his  hotel  after  a  day  of  excruciatingly  boring  meetings,  elias  was  excited  to  lay  down  in  bed  and  relax  for  the  first  time,  in  what  felt  like  days.  except,  when  he  entered  his  hotel  suite,  the  sight  that  welcomed  him  came  as  a  major  shock.  an  unknown  woman  laying  in  his  bed,  wearing  his  robe,  eating  out  of  his  mini-bar,  watching  his  tv.  the  headache  he’d  had  before  entering,  grew  into  a  solid  thumping  behind  his  eyelids,  “ who  the  fuck  are  you?  and  how  did  you  get  into  my  room? ”  he  questioned  while  rubbing  his  temple.  “ shit,  this  is  not  the  day  for  this  bullshit ”

          IN  TYPICAL  EVERLY  fashion,  the  first  thing  on  her  mind  when  she  woke  up  was  having  a  cup  of  coffee.  exhausted  since  she  had  stayed  up  late  chatting  to  her  fans  on  instagram,  the  model  decided  to  make  coffee  at  home    —    a  nearly  unheard  of  concept  for  anyone  apart  of  the  lawson  family,  as  they've  always  been  the  starbucks  and  go  type  of  clan.  so  looking  disheveled,  her  hair  knotted  and  wearing  pajamas,  everly  padded  down  the  grand  staircase  in  her  mansion  in  the  hills,  dreaming  of  a  hot  cup  of  coffee  with  a  splash  of  milk  and  a  packet  of  sugar.  that  was  until  she  passed  her  large  living  area,  and  noticed  a  head  of  black  hair  against  the  stark  white  of  her  new  designer  couch  (a  couch  definitely  not  meant  for  sleeping  on,  if  you  asked  everly).  a  shriek  escaped  her  lungs  and  she  jumped  back,  before  her  curiosity  got  a  hold  of  her.  padding  closer  in  bare  feet,  she  grabbed  the  nearest  thing  that  could  be  used  as  a  weapon  -  an  expensive  vase  -  as  she  kept  an  eye  out  for  the  stranger  on  her  couch.  their  snoring  was  loud  and  obnoxious  and  when  she  was  standing  a  mere  few  feet  away,  everly  used  her  toes  to  poke  the  stranger  who  was  clearly  deep  in  dreamland,  “ who  are  you?  and  what  are  you  doing  in  my  house? ”  she  asked  loudly  when  standing  back  on  two  feet,  clearly  trying  to  wake  him  with  her  words.  the  stranger  mumbled  something  about  bobby  and  shutting  up,  and  every's  face  contorted  in  confusion.  “ who  the  fuck  is  bobby?  and  why  are  you  in  my  house?  dammit,  i  demand  you  give  me  an  answer  before  i  call  security! ”

          WITH  A  HEAVY  bass  thumping  throughout  every  room  and  girls  in  skimpy  clothes  dancing  around,  sawyer  was  in  any  straight  man’s  heaven.  the  party  was  being  thrown  for  a  member  of  the  gang  who  had  been  released  from  prison;  celebrated  like  a  war  hero  returning  from  the  battlefield.  as  he  wandered  through  the  house  looking  for  a  quiet  place  to  take  a  phone  call,  alcohol  and  drugs  could  be  found  in  every  corner.  sawyer  didn’t  mind  as  such,  but  as  a  man  who  was  very  content  with  his  own  company,  it  was  all  just  a  little  much.  when  finally  opening  the  door  to  a  seemingly  empty  bathroom,  he  pulled  out  his  phone  ready  to  return  the  phone  call,  when  hearing  sniffling  from  the  tub.  he  looked  up  from  the  phone  in  his  hands,  weighing  his  options.  should  he  try  to  back  out  of  the  room  or  be  polite  and  do  the  right  thing?  taking  a  deep  breath,  he  rolled  his  eyes  at  his  own  upcoming  words. looking  at  the  person  in  the  empty  and  dry  tub  crying  their  eyes  out  with  as  much  sympathy  as  he  could  muster,  “ you  good? ”  he  asked,  sincerely  hoping  the  other  would  send  him  on  his  way.
