I really hope this makes sense but I want to give a huge shout out to BSD fans who are the victims or or have been affected by mafia and/or gang violence.

I know it probably feels like you're alone, especially when source and fandom don't seem to respect the idea of survivors of these groups existing, but I hope you know that you aren't alone. You are seen and you are loved.

My younger brother was shot during some kind of gang/mafia/cop fight. He went missing right afterwards. My older brother came to visit me and we watched memories of us on the wall and I started crying because I knew our little brother had probably died and wasn't coming back.

Rescued yes, but safe? Evan doesn’t know. He’s gotten away from the Pet business but all his life he’s known that people were out to get him and that weakness meant he would inevitably be hurt. He doesn’t know how to be vulnerable. He’d rather just destroy himself from inside—he’s broken enough for it anyways. Through this recovery period, he’ll learn to work through his past traumas, his nightmares and fears, and all the hurt and guilt he’s accumulated in his life. Dabi headcanons with a tall bubbly s/o who's in a gang?

Well, ‘bubbly’ is definitely the opposite of him, so… the relationship might be a bit rocky at first, but also Dabi is the kind of guy who can appreciate people who aren’t really like him. In the case of this S/O, he would be pretty in awe of them, sometimes annoyed, just because, holy shit, do they not have a fucking OFF switch??? He gets tired just watching them. (Though that’s not saying much. The man could get tired watching paint dry.)

Might try to get them to slow down at least a little. They’re like the fucking Energizer bunny ― is that healthy for, like, anyone?? He doesn’t know. What he does know is that they can’t be go, go, go all the time or they’re going to burn themselves out. Luckily, he has a lap that’s perfect for lying their head on and, not that he wants to brag, he happens to be excellent at running his fingers through hair.

He’s pretty tall himself, so he doesn’t mind having someone who’s around his own height. He doesn’t have to bend down for kisses (which is something he actually does like, but sometimes it’s definitely nice to just be able to lean over and peck his S/O’s cheek), they don’t look like they’re drowning when they wear his clothes, and being tall makes it a little harder for other villains, and even heroes, to intimidate them. Dabi will happily take all of that, thank you.

Once he finds out they’re in a gang, his immediate reaction is to try and talk them into joining the League. They’ve already got that sort of mentality, they probably know how to fight, and in general they’d very likely be safer. Few people mess with the villains in the League, which means his S/O wouldn’t be in as much danger with him as they would be with rival gangs. That said, he knows it’s difficult to leave a gang, especially if the other members would view it as a breach of loyalty and may want revenge, so if they give him a no, he’s unlikely to press the issue unless something comes up.

Much as he might bitch and moan about it, Dabi finds their energy, positivity, and sweet nature very refreshing. He constantly wonders how an ugly bastard like him ended up with a pretty little ray of sunshine like them. Their whole personality is so endearing, he can’t help but smile when they’re talking to him. He really, really loves them.

    ( dylan minnette, 22, he/him ) welcome to san francisco, GABRIEL MONEDERO. rumor has it they are a CAMBION, but only they could tell you the truth! when i close my eyes, i think of them and imagine STAINED GREY TSHIRTS, HUSHED CONVERSATIONS AND NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS STUCK TO THE WALL. 

gabriel  is  irati  monedero’s  younger  brother.  born  three  years  after  her,  his  father  (  hector  )  was  thrilled  to  have  a  son.  he  took  time  to  form  gabriel  in  his  image  and  until  he  was  eleven,  he  didn’t  see  a  problem  with  that  approach  or  his  father.  he  was  very  much  a  daddy’s  boy.  

he  had  a  bit  of  a  habit  of  walking  above  other  people,  probably  a  side  effect  of  the  fact  he  was  spoiled  with  attention  by  his  father,  and  as  a  kid,  he  took  that  out  on  strangers  for  the  most  part.  his  sister  caught  him  bullying  a  girl  when  he  was  eleven  and  beat  him  to  a  bloody  pulp.

his  father  became  charmed  with  her  for  the  display  of  violence,  although  she  was  apologetic.  they  became  closer  than  before  and  gabriel  came  to  stand  against  his  father  in  time  when  he  realised  how  brain  washed  he  really  was.  they  hatched  a  plan  to  kill  him,  although  he  wasn’t  responsible  for  the  dirty  work.  irati  committed  the  deed,  he  covered  it  all  up.

their  mother  died  from  the  shock  of  finding  them  and  he  left  with  his  sister  on  the  run.

after  having  been  on  the  run,  they  were  found  by  an  organisation  that  promised  to  give  him  a  normal  life  if  his  sister  left  with  them.  she  agreed  and  he  was  taken  to  a  good  family,  as  promised.  he  just  did  an  EXCELLENT  job  of  fucking  that  up.

he  met  victoria  villalobos  and  quickly  became  entangled  with  her  life  and,  by  extension,  the  mafia.  apparently,  his  brand  is  being  manipulated  by  powerful  older  men  as  a  would  be  soldier.  because  of  this,  he  got  close  enough  to  get  to  know  spades  and  see  him,  frankly,  as  the  echoes  of  his  father.  he  was  in  two  minds  about  betraying  him,  as  he  never  quite  had  the  stomach  his  sister  did  and  thought  covering  up  a  murder  was  a  world  away  from  a  life  of  crime.  but  he  still  believed  no  one  like  that  should  be  allowed  to  walk  the  world  without  consequence.

unfortunately,  victoria  found  out  about  his  loyalty  problem  before  he  decided  against  betraying  spades,  and  decided  to  hold  it  over  his  head.  he  eventually  had  to  quietly  retreat  as  he  knew  he  was  no  match  for  the  literal  mafia.  (  and  to  be  honest,  victoria.  )

he  spent  his  time  away  getting  in  with  the  Bad  Crowd  tm  that  his  past  experiences  should  prove  he  really  should’ve  stayed  away  from.  

he’s  back  in  san  francisco  with  renewed  skills  and  a  ticking  time  bomb  of  a  plan  to  boot.  the  fact  his  sister  is  here?  that  would  be  a  happy  accident.

a ssstray ricochet bullet from a nearby gang fight. it wasss the worsst, mosst blinding and frightening pain i’ve ever felt. my whole body wasss numb and on fire all at oncce.
