There comes a point in your life, you think walking away from the last thing you knew about Love was easy. I gave up on meeting someone new and falling. I realistically thought I couldn’t find someone for me. There was not one person who had my interest for 2 years of my singleness. I revolved the world around me and my goals. I became stricter with who had my attention and who spend time with me. I messed around with a couple people to entertain myself and just pass time.
Fast forward 2019, I met the person who I would marry and immediately have kids with. Anderson was not the person I thought I would end up with. I did not even want to date another latino guy. I know my race and the guys always had the same problems. But, nevertheless, I went on one date with him by the beach to eat Peruvian food. We clicked the moment we talked and even then we stayed in contact all the time. We just talked everyday. He gave me another feeling I haven’t felt with anyone else. I looked at him and thought how hot and handsome he is.
We had a little history together because we went to the same church. I gave my life to God at 17 years old and I remember being a leader in a christian church serving God full time. I met him through an ex boyfriend there. However we never talked or said hi, it was always a glance and far away smiles. I found him on social media and I added him on social media and we both saw and liked each other pictures for 2 -3 years. He was always someone I thought about but never someone Id thought I would be with. His friend was my ex, so I thought it could never happen! :O I was the one who made the first move. I messaged him and reeled him in, then he began messaging me everyday and we just never stopped since then.
After we started dating, which I will be honest, it went by fast! We met the first 3 dates and by the 4th date we called it a relationship. We knew from then, we didn’t want anyone else and wanted to be exclusive. We had deep conversations and I think it depends on what you talk about with your partner and how vulnerable you show yourself to them that can make you see in 2 months whether or not you want to marry this person. So that’s all it took for me. I fell in love with him a month being together. In my mind, I was always thinking I was rushing it but another part of me told me “No, he's the one”. It was hard listening to two voices. God made one voice stronger than the other. I’m happy I decided to go along with it. Well, 4 months into the relationship, we decided to tie the knot. We wanted to start our lives together and just be together forever. He surprised me with his reaction. I never saw someone so happy and sure about doing something. I was nervous and excited on the other hand. I was hoping the whole time I was not making a mistake. In my life, I have suffered from relationships so much, I did not want to do the same mistake again or else I would never try the dating arena ever again. Nothing could go wrong with him. I couldn’t take another heartbreak or break up.
We did it. We got the ring and tied the knot. I was ready to become his wife and I prayed to God for help. I asked him to help me know if I was making the right decision. Anderson is a man of God like I am a women of God, so we both prayed together a couple times. Then, we had a surprise come to us. 3 or 4 weeks after becoming engaged and buying the ring. I found out I was pregnant too. We went out on one of our dates and I showed him my results. i couldn't do nothing but cry, and I was scared because I did not expect a child so quickly. I wanted to spend time with my husband and have him all for myself first. We were happy despite how quickly it was. We were ready and wanted the baby. Anderson was the happiest man alive. We sped things up because now we had to tell my parents and his parents about the engagement immediately so we can talk about the baby. We met with both his parents and talked to them about it. We got my parents blessing & my mother in law’s blessing. However, some of our family already knew I was pregnant and i didn't tell them. So about 1 week later, I came out and told my parents.. Anderson told his parents and his sister. Well, our family was mad we didn’t get married first but then they welcomed the idea and were excited for us. Our parents are christian and live by the word of the bible. We knew it was quickly but our love didn’t make us worry about nothing. GOD IS GOOD. We immediately ran into problems due to COVID-19 and many other financial problems but God has never left our side. We were able to do our civil wedding and now planning for our bundle of joy to come so then we can plan the wedding.
I love him and he is mine. I am his. I have found the one who my soul loves and longs for. We are made for one another. He is my safe place. I couldn't picture anyone else living this with me. <3
